1.Effects of zeffix (lamivudine) in treatment of chronic hepatitis B
Journal of Medical Research 2003;26(6):76-83
The results of the study on 33 cases of chronic hepatitis B treated with Zeffix (100mg = 1 tablet/day, in 2 fears continously) showed that the rate of patients who have normalized level of liver enzyme (AST and ALT) accounted for 66.6%. The sero conversion rate of HBeAg and negatiity of HBV-DNA was 48.5%. 45.5% of patients were recovered and the rate of recurrent was 9%. Zeffix has not side effects (some cases of fever, nausea, vomit of slight manifestation.

2.Figures of enzyme extended spectrum ?-lactamase (ESBL) producing by escherichia coli and klebsiella strains in Vietnam, 1999-2001
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2003;13(5):42-45
Enzyme extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) was determined from 2396 strains of E.Coli and 802 strains of Klebsiella isolated from clinical specimens at 18 hospitals (9 in North, 5 in Central and 4 in South of Vietnam in 1999-2001 years period by the method of Double Discs. Results showed that 6.4-7.8% of E.Coli and 15.6-29.7% Klebsiella strains produced ESBL. These percentages varied according to the strains isolated from various specimens

3.Clinical and paraclinical characteristics of Dengue haemorrhagic fever (with and without Dengue Shock Syndrome) in adults
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):24-28
This retrospective study was aimed to assessing clinical, paraclinical symptoms of 340 patients between 16-45 years old, with Dengue haemorrhagic fever. Patients were divided into 2 groups with and without Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS). The results showed that clinical symptoms including sudden high fever, headache, orbital pain, congested skin, petechie, and positive tourniquet test. Paraclinical symptoms included thrombocytopenia increased haematocrite, leukopenia, increased serum transaminases. This disease often occurred in October and November. DSS can occure at 4th to 7th day with symptoms vomiting, sudden subsided fever, cold clammy skin, pleural or pericardial effusion, ascites, rapid increased haematocrite, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia. Dengue haemorrhagic fever can be cured in short time with infusion of isotonic fluid and Ringer lactate fluid

4.Clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of paragonimiasis in Sin Ho, Lai Chau province
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 1998;(1):23-25
65 cases of paragonimiasis were studied; 15 years old group is the most frequent suffering age (86%). The common symptoms were described. Praziquantel 25 mg/kg x 3 doses daily in 2 days is the remedy of choice

5.Using linear discriminant analysis method basing on genetic algorithms to find out the role of clinical symptoms for taking differential diagnosis between typhoid fever and scrub typhus
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(11):24-29
Linear discriminant analysis method basing on genetic algorithms was used to find out the role of clinical symptoms for taking differential diagnosis between typhoid fever and scrub typhus. Clinical records of 526 patients suffering from one of those diseases were used as input data for algorithms. The results showed that the differential value of symptoms are as follows: roseola (4 points), infectious constitution (2 points), drum belly (2 points), ingestive disorder (1 points), decrease of white-blood cell count (1 point), congestion (-2 points), enlarge of lymph node (- 2 points), erythematous eruption (-3 points), eschar (-5 points). The diagnostic rule are a follows: total point >=3: typhoid fever, between 0 and 2 points: suggestion of typhoid fever, total point <=-3: scrub typhus, between o and -2 points: suggestion of scrub typhus. To re-test on 50 patients of those 526 patients randomly, the accuracy rate of this rule is at least 98%.

6.Mumps orchitis treatment with corticoids
Journal of Medical Research 2004;27(1):89-92
Based on the results of 20 cases with mumps orchitis who were treated with Prednisolon (25-30 mgs per day in 5 days) or Triamcinolon (5-6 mgs per day in 5 days), the author showed that corticoids could either release fever and pain within 24 hours or 48 hours, or reduce the swelling of orches faster in comparison with the other group of patients. Nevertheless, corticoids could not prevent the orches shrinking

7.Antibiotic susceptibility figures of some common pathogenous bacteria in the communities
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(1):33-36
The study was conducted on Six hundred and thirty eight Streptococcus pneumoniae strains, 357 Haemophilus influenzae strains and 1475 Escherichia coli strains, were isolated from naso-pharyngeal, and rectal swabs in healthy children under 5 year olds, and 147 Salmonella typhi strains and 133 Shigella flexneri strains were isolated in 2002. These strains were tested for antibiotic susceptibility. The results showed that benzyl-penicillin was susceptible to S. pneumoniae pathogenous strains in community. The third generation cephalosporines showed the highest susceptibility to H. influenzae pathogenous strains in community. Ceftazidime, cefuroxime acetil and ciprofloxacine are antibiotics with high susceptibility to E. coli pathogenous strains in community. Fluoroquinolones and 2nd and 3rd cephalosporines are susceptible to S. typhi strains with high level. The most susceptible antibiotic to S. flexneri strains was ciprofloxacine.
