3.A Clinical Observation on Renal Angiography.

Korean Journal of Urology 1982;23(3):311-316
Renal angiogram is a safe and excellent procedure for an early detection and accurate diagnosis of benign or malignant diseases. Selective renal angiography has been used mainly in the diagnosis of surgical disease, but now many informations are available regarding the vascular disease, pyelonephritis and renal tuberculosis. A clinical observation was made on 18 cases of the renal angiography from January. 1978 to June, 1981.

Journal of the Korean Society of Traumatology 2006;19(2):192-195
Degenerative vascular disease, previous arterial surgery, long-term ureteral stenting, pelvis surgery, and radiotheraphy are reported as causes of artery-to-collecting-system communication.. Artery-to-collecting-system- communication associated with blunt trauma is rare, but potentially fatal. The diagnosis is very difficult and requires a high degree of suspicion. We were able to make the diagnosis based on the characteristic finding of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) obtained in the early phase, equivalent to the finding obtained in the corticomedullary phase of the kidney. We report a case of artery to collecting system communication due to blunt abdominal trauma following a fall, which was treated by embolization.

6.Validation of a new method to detect peripheral artery disease by determination of ankle-brachial index using an automatic blood pressure device
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;10():24-26
Determination of peripheral artery disease by using a simple automatic blood pressure device with ankle-brachial indexes (ABIs) was feasible for the doctors who couldn’t use Doppler method. 219 patients were examined at Cardiovascular Department, Hospital 108 and were measured ABIs. Results: The correlations between ABI in both methods were good in left legs (r=0.66,p<0.001) and in right legs (r=0.61, p<0.001). This method is inexpensive, easy to use, and can detect peripheral artery disease in early stage

vascular tumor of the liver in infancy, can occur with acute postnatal liver and congestive heart failure. Nevertheless, its course is often benign, and many children can be diagnosed and treated without surgical intervention. The distinction from malignant diseases is not always easy and it not clear whether invasive procedures for diagnosis and therapy should be performed. Here we report our experiences in our Center for Pediatric Liver Disease and postulate that large studies are needed to avoid unnecessary invasive procedures for these patients in the future.]]>

9.Two Cases of Rectus Sheath Hematoma after Cesarean Delivery.
Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1998;41(12):3069-3072
Rectus sheath hematoma is an uncommon entity of the anterior abdominal wall and an unusual cause of painful abdominal mass. Rectus sheath hematoma have been in association with trauma, infections, debilitating disease, collagen vascular disease, pregnancy. and the puerperium. Sudden disruption of a deep epigastric vessel may result in an abdominal wall hematoma, which depending upon its location and size, can produce symptoms and clinical findings compatible with a variety of acute intra-abdominal conditions. Such hematoma are infrequently encountered and early accurate diagnosis could prevent surgical intervention. Unfortunately, the clinical manifestations of rectus muscle hematoma are sometimes so dramatic that laparotomy is performed under the belief that intra-abdominal pathology is present. The diagnosis was confirmed at surgery in both patient. We present two cases of rectus sheath hematoma which were diagnosed by clinical & ultrasound examination preoperatively.
