1.Continue to study on influences of Morinda citrifolia L. Rubiaceae fruits on experimental animals immuno-suppressed by radiation
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;347(3):16-19
Study on the extract of Morinda citrifolia (MC) fruit with the ratio of 5:1 (1g extract was prepared from 5g of dried MC fruit) in order to determine the effects of extract on radiation-induced immunosuppressive mice. The results showed that: oral administration of this extract with daily dose of 6 g/kg in 9 consecutive days (3 days before and 6 days during receiving gamma ray) has increased the relative weight of spleen and thymus, total leukocyte count, number of lymphocytes, natural killers and monocytes, rate of immune rosette forming cells, hemolytic halo, and the skin test with OA antigen, compared with the mice group that has been only received gamma ray without drug

2.Eye dry syndrome and ocular surface
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2002;269(2):55-58
The eye dry syndrome is increasingly and a difficult problem in the ophthalmology. There were about 15% of people over 60 years experienced the eye dry of which 10% must be treated. This disease usually considered because initial mild symptoms. However, these symptoms can lead eye burn that can not be treated. The superficial corneitis with severe pain and vision loss occurred subsequently. The corneal and conjunctival surface usually protected from chemical component, mechanical agent, microbial and virus and film of aqueous humor as a first barrier.

3.Results of operation of modified Sapejko in the treatment of patients with cicatricial entropion of eyelid
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2002;269(2):15-19
Doctors operated 29 patients (35 eyes) with cicatricial entropion of eyelid, among them there are 15 eyes (42.85%) with complication of burn; 14 eyes (40%) with complication of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and 6 eyes (17.15%) with recurrent entropion. The follow-up ranged from 1-6 months. Results: of the 35 eyes operated, 27 eyes (77.14%) were successfully treated (the eyelid was corrected); only 1 eye (5.72%) needed a repeat operation. This study indicated that mucous membrane graft is an effective treatment for patient with cicatricial entropion of eyelid. But, these are the first results. Further studies are necessary to confirm the long time effectiveness of method.

4.Efficacy of cromal in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):15-17
The authors evaluated the efficacy of cromal in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. Method: 30 patients (28 males, 12 females) were assigned in two groups: group1:14 patients with seasonal allergic conjuntivitis; group2: 24 patients with vernal keratoconjuntivitis. In a double masked random design, the patients of each group were received cromal eye drops or NaCl 0.9%. Results: eyes treated with cromal eye drops in two groups showed an amelioration of the sign and symptoms of disease compared with eyes received only NaCl 0.9%. Conclusion: cromal seems to be effective in treatment of allergy.

5.Preliminary study on the effects of Morinda citrifolia extract on the isolated blood vessels and water-electrolyte excretion
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;0(11):20-24
A study on the effects of Morinda citrifolia (MC) extract on the isolated blood vessels and water-electrolyte excretion by Lipschitz method. Results: MC in both concentrations of 1.25% and 2.5% had a vascular dilating effect of the rabbit ears without change vasoconstriction effect of adrenalin with concentration of 1/10 000. By oral administration, MC in doses of 0.3g, 0.6g and 0.9g/kg body weight increased the elimination of Na(+), K(+), Cl(-), but did not influence the elimination of Ca++ and urine amount at the rest time

6.Preliminary results of the topic formula of “Kho tri tan” in combining with oral use of traditional medicinal plant in treating anal hemorrhoid
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;481(6):7-10
35 patients with internal hemorrhoid of II, III, IV grade were treated by simple technique in a short duration and thourough operation without complicate equiments, the traditional formule “kho tri tan E” in combining with Vietnamese traditional herbal medicines gave preliminary satisfied efficacy through the evaluation of 2 main criteria of treatment as bleeding severity and the fall of hemorrhoid knot. Before the treatment, 100% of patients had got bleeding of diverse levels. After the treatment, there was 14.3% of patients still had got mild bleeding. In 100% of treated cases, the whole of hemorrhoid knots falled down. No complication occurred.

7.The variation of blood biochemical indices before and after treating Basedow’s disease using propyl thiouracyl
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;480(5):19-21
After a 4 weeks of treatment by propyl thyouracil, the biochemical indices of Basedow disease had changed obviously: triiodothyronin (T3) high level (7.95 ± 1.58 nmol/l before treatment) had increased dramatically (1.98 ± 0.54 nmol/l), total thyroxin (T4) high level (257.56 ± 47.45 nmol/l before treatment) had decreased dramatically (1278.04 ± 10.82 nmol/l). FT4 serum level high level had decreased after treatment. TSF low level before treatment had increased. But after treatment glucose level had increased unsignificantly versus that before. In severe condition blood cholesterol had increased, but in moderate and mild condition, there was no change.

Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;480(5):44-47
In ThaiNguyen Central General Hospital some cerebro-vascular complications were studied. Common risk factors leading to complications were: Hypertension with the highest incidence of 78,5%, lipidemia disorder 53,9%, alcoholism 26,9%, tabagism 21,4%, catching a cold 16,4%, transient ischaemia 14,8%, familly factors10,9%, heart diseases 8,2%, stress 5,4% and diabetes 3,8%.

9.Study on the change of tear secretion and the surface of cornea on the official personnel using computers
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;294(1):34-38
62 people (124 eyes) age from 21 to 49 (35 males, 27 females) are divided into 2 groups: in the first group 18 objects (36 eyes) with conjunctivitis, in the second group 44 objects (88 eyes) without conjunctivitis. All objects have taken Shirmer test (I and II), BUT, test of Rose-bengal and fluorescein. All are applied with Sanlein (Santen Agency). And those tests are measured after 1 and 3 months. Results: The Shirmer I and II, and BUT in the group 2 is higher than in the group 1, though BUT of both groups is at under normal level. Test of Rose-bengal 1 and 2 in group 1 is higher than in group 2. The intergrity of epithelial cells is also changed. Tear secretion of both groups at normal physiological level. Sanlein has good effect, partially improves tear indicator

10.Study on the changes of biochemical index in rabbit blood before and after receiving "Thap toan dai bo" tablet
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;490(10):20-22
Two spectices of health Rabbit weighing 1,8-2,5 kg were descriptive in comparing before and after studying. Oral administration with "thap toan dai bo" pills- a traditional medicine, in experimental showed that the pill haft an effect to vary some biochemical indices of rabbit. However these variation did not influence on the normal metabolism of the animal as well as on the biochemical function, for instance in glucose with the comparative coefficients of P>0,05, proted P>0,05 and some other indices of chlolesterol, triglycerid… with P>0,05. These comparative coefficient had not statistical significance.
