1.Immune response of extra - pulmonary tuberculosis patients treated with chemotherapy plus immunotherapy
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2002;12(1):11-17
The cell-mediated immunity of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis patients was followed up during treatment with chemotherapy plus immunotherapy. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the group treated with chemotherapy and the group treated with chemotherapy plus immunotherapy

The rate of tuberculosis has been significantly decreased due to development of effective antituberculosis chemotherapy. Tuberculosis of the duodenum is very rare and diagnosis is very difficult because of nonspecific symptoms and nonspecific duodenal lesions. A case of duodenal tuberculosis which was clinically diagnosed as malignancy of the duodenum was discovered. The diagnosis was confirmed by a subsequent operation and administration of antituberculous chemotherapy resulted in a positive response. Consequently, the following is a report on this case, review of related literature.

4.Radiologic and clinical observation of tuberculous cavity in initial treatment
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1986;22(2):206-210
Tuberculous cavity is important in diagnosis and observation in the course of pulmonary tuberculosis. Authoranalyzed the radiologic findings of cavity and average months of negative conversion in AFB culture in 89 cases ofinitial treatment. The results were as follows: 1. The more number of cavities, the longer period in negativeconversion of AFB culture. 2. No relation between sums of diameter and thickeness of cavity and average months ofnegative conversion in AFB cultlure. 3. In the cases of cavity with air-fluid level took longer period in negativeconversion of AFB culture than those of cavity without air-fluid level, significantly. 4. No relation betweenradiologic findings of cavity and results of chemotherapy for pulmonary tuberculosis.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1980;15(2):242-247
Extraosseous tuberculosis of the extremities is relatively rare even in the wide spread incidence of bone and joint tuberculosis. And few reports about extraosseous tuberculosis of the extremities have been published in the literatures. Eight cases of the extraosseous tuberculosis of the extremities were experienced at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, National Medical Center, from 1975 to Sep. 1979. Five out of 8 extraosseous tuberculosis were tenosynovitis and the others were bursitis in location. All cases were surgically excised and combined with antituberculous chemotherapy, and primarily cured.

6.Role of immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy in newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis patients
Journal of Preventive Medicine 1998;8(1):28-34
The preliminary results showed that the immunotherapy with M.Vaccae may be very effective. 13 of 20 patients without immunotherapy (group A) have improved clinically, comparing with 22 improved patients of 22 patients with immunotherapy (group B), especially, 4 of 20 patients in group A had a relapse after treatment, and the difference of immune responses between 2 groups in the end of treatment could be found out.

7.Primarily opinions of the safety of short-course chemotherapy formula of 2SRH/4RH for anti-tuberculosis
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(11):25-28
Study on the security of the anti-tuberculosis, 40 TB patients had been treated by the short course therapy (2SRHZ/ 4RH) according to DOTS (Directly Observed Therapy Short- course) during 1998 in the hospital 74. All (100%) are cured as result, only 2 of them had been prolonged 1 months in the first phase. The value of SGOT, SGPT changed but no chronic significant. In 5 patients with liver diseases (viral hepatitis, cirrhosis), the value of these enzymes increased at the second month and decreased step-by- step to the normal. The author concluded that this is a safe short-course therapy, even in the patients with liver disease if to abide by DOTS and to combine with the liver protective drugs

9.Recent Trend in Chemotherapy for Pulmonary Tyberculosis.
Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1977;20(2):83-86
Numerous problems has not been solved in the field of pulmonary tuberculosis, especially in chemotherapy. There has been many turning points in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis such as; introduction of streptomycin, combination therapy, isoniazid single therapy, intermittent chemotherapy, and recent short-term chemotherapy. It is very important to know about individual drugs for the better chemotherapy. So a review has been made referring many literatures in pharmacologic properties of them. Also single INH therapy, double chemotherapy and triple chemotherapy have be described.

Tuberculous tenosynovitis affecting flexor tendon sheaths of the hand is a rare condition and quite disabling to the patient like tuberculosis elsewhere. It should be attacked by operation and antituberculous chemotherapy, but has a tendency to recur after surgery. The authors have encountered a case of tuberculous tenosynovitis affecting flexor tendon sheaths in the palmar area of the left hand, and treated the case with surgery and anti-tuberculous chemotherapy.
