1.Thoughts on Clinical Trial Significance and Ideas of Tibetan Medicine
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;(5):1019-1022
Tibetan medicine clinical trials are the efficient path for the clinical practitioners to avoid knowledge aging , inheritance of famous traditional Tibetan academic thinking , clinical experiences and techniques . It is an effective way for the lifelong self-learning . It is also a breakthrough for the normalization , standardization and internationalization of the scientific development of Tibetan medicine . By conducting Tibetan medicine clinical trials, related Tibetan medical documents can be founded, collected and analyzed in order to improve therapeu-tic effects. Theories can be transferred into practice, and experiences can be transferred in to results. The therapeutic effect can be reflected in the value of clinical practice and be promoted as the suitable techniques . And Tibetan medicine can be promoted worldwide .

Objective To identify the common Tibetan herb Dong-Na Duan-Chi by molecular pharmacognosy. Methods Ethnopharmacology investigation was carried out and local herbalists were visited to observe which plants were being used as Dong-Na Duan-Chi. Then, nuclear ribosomal DNA ITS sequences were amplified and sequenced for molecular identification. Results The botanic origins of Dong-Na Duan-Chi in Tibet Autonomous Region were authenticated as two species, i.e. Veronica eriogyne H.Winkl. and Veronica ciliata Fisch.. The sequences of ITS for Veronica eriogyne and Veronica ciliata are 551 bp and 552 bp in size. The results showed that nrDNA ITS sequences could be used to discriminate V.eriogyne and V.ciliata from closely related species. Conclusion nrDNA ITS sequences can be used as the molecular markers to identify the Tibetan herb Dong-Na Duan-Chi from other species of the same genus Veronica L.

OBJECTIVE To investigate antibacterial activity and mechanism of Tibetan medicine Liuweidingxiang pills against Staphylococcus aureus, and provide theoretical basis for clinical application.METHODS M-H agar-punching method was adopted to research antibacterial activity of Liuweidingxiang pills against Staphylococcus aureus, and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was measured by broth dilution method. The absorbance OD600nm of culture medium mixed with medicine was continuously recorded for 36h and growth curve of S.aureus was drawn.Furthermore, the antibacterial mechanism was explored using scanning electron microscopy and cell wall permeability test.RESULTS The diameter of inhibition zone was (21.8±2.36) mm at 800 mg/mL,and the MIC was between 12.5 mg/mL and 25 mg/mL.This medicine had significant inhibition to bacterial proliferation. The structure of bacterial cell was changed and the permeability of cell wall was increased.CONCLUSION Liuweidingxiang pills had significant antimicrobial effect on multidrug-resistant S.aureus, which implied potential value in clinical application.
