1.A survey on the use of medicinal plants for women after childbirth applying the popular experiences in some communes in Thua Thien Hue province

The survey was conducted on 400 women in Thua Thien Hue. Among them, 45% are workers in public sectors, 55% are worker of private sectors. 100% use medicinal plants in pregnant period and after birth. After birth the use medicinal plants are: lactoferous plants, pain relief for breast, lactation plants, anti fever, anti hemorrhage. Complications were not reported

2.Surveilance of drugs using status of households at some communes of Hue City

300 households in Hue city underwent an inquiry using a questionary concerning the knowledge, the attitude of common civilian on the medicaments. Results showed a rate of 89% of population had used the physician prescription, 90% consumed antibiotics, 94% consumed antipyretics, anti-inflammation pain relief and pain relief agents, 89% vitamines, usually people took medicines to treat common diseases and conditions, such as fever (71%), cough (28%), asthenia (30%), diarrhoe (33%). In 6%, there is an abnormal complication in using medicine at home

3.The characteristic medicinal plants in treatment of common diseases of people at Thuy Xuan communes, Hue City

In the Commune Thuy Xuan (Hue city), 100 randomly chosen households using medicinal plants were interviewed. Results showed a good knowledge and wise, proper safe and practical use of common medicinal plants such as lemon, citronella, ginger, and some other vegetables for treating usual conditions – fever, cold, diarrhora, cough, etc
