1.The correlation coefficient of NK population's percentage in healthy adults donors gained by standard method and estimate methods
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2004;8(2):99-103
The samples obtained from the 25 healthy adults donors, from19 to 50 years old of age, 18 men and 7 woman. Different antibodies match different methods. Standard method: CD3 (FITC) / CD16, CD56 (PE) / CD45 (PerCP) / CD19 (APC) mixture of antibodies. Estimate method: 3 colors use CD4 (FITC) / CD3 (PE) / CD8 (PerCP) mixture of antibodies and 4 colors use CD3 (FITC) / CD8 (PE) / CD45 (PerCD) / CD4 (APC) mixture of antibodies. Results: standard method - estimate method 3 colors: r = 0,85; % NK (adjust) = 1,99 x % NK (estimated) + 2,31; standard method - estimate method 4 colors: r = 0,85; % NK (adjust) = 1,63 x % NK (estimated) + 4,53

2.The time conserving blood sample at room temperature and the confidence of quantifying % TCD4, % TCD8, % lympho, WBC, MFI CD4, MFI CD8
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2004;8(3):143-147
The research aimed to establish the maximum time elapsed between collection and analysis of samples. The blood samples were stored at temperature varying from 200C to 280C. Studied on 32 subjects, all samples were marked by the monoclonal antibodies. Each sample had been analyzed 4 times: within 6 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours after drawing. Epi-info 2000 had been used for statistical analysis the results. Results showed that: the maximum elapse of time for the CD4 was 72 hours, for the CD8 was 24 hours and for the lympho and the WBC's as little time as possible, because the results were very different every second time

3.The HIV/AIDS real status and risk behaviours of HIV infection among injecting drug users and commercial sex workers in Dongthap-4/2003
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(2):31-35
Studying total number of 1,404 HIV infected persons, including 716 AIDS manifestation and 245 AIDS deaths in Dong Thap province from 3/2003 - 4/2003 showed that: the new infectious number of HIV in this province has been increasing quickly; Dong Thap ranks tenth in ten provinces having highest HIV/100,000 people rate (89.53%). Although, the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Dong Thap is still in concentrated period but the distribution of HIV infection with 3% children and 2.8% pregnant women is a worried problem. Moreover, quantity and risk behaviors of HIV/AIDS infection in commercial sex workers and injecting drug users are also worried problems. Basing on these results, Dong Thap should mobilize all potential resources to implement quickly the measures including unnamed test counseling and activities which prevent mother-baby HIV spread helping reduce damaging effect in high risk people

4.The strategy use antibodies for quantity the percentage of lympho TCD4, TCD8 accurately and low-cost
Journal of Medical Research 2003;24(4):51-56
38 blood samples were divided into 2 groups – normal sample (with 3 groups of cells seen obviously; lymphocyte, mon, gronulocyte on FSC, SSC windows) and abnormal sample group (without these 3 groups of cells).

5.Lymphocyte subpopulation in healthy adults donors of Ho Chi Minh city Viet Nam
Journal of Medical Research 2003;26(6):27-32
The objective of study was to establish reference ranged for the lymphocyte subset (TCD3, TCD4, TCD8, B, NK) in peripheral blood of adult donors. This reference is used like target values for patients examinated in HCM city’s Pasteur Institute and then the results were compared with those obtained in Iranian healthy adults. Healthy person’s blood was processed with EDTA anticoagulation then incubated with 2 groups of antibodies from blood donors contained in 2 diverse tubes CD3/CD8/CD45/CD4 and CD3/CD16,56/CD45/CD19. Then through FASC apparatus, the samples were analyzed, and TCD3, TCD4, TCD8, B, NK were determined in each sample diversely.

7.The epidemiological survey on the relationship between agent orange/dioxin exposure and reproductive anomalies and congenital deformities of inhabitants living in A luoi valley, Thua Thien Hue province
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2003;290(11):1-12
Study was conducted on 1048 households with 6068 persons in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province, where herbicides were sprayed heavily in war. The relationship between the quantity of herbicide sprayed in war and the severity of environmental pollution at present was recorded. Epidemiological relationship between the pollution of the enviroment and abnormal reproductivity and congenital defects, which were 1.5-4 times higher after the spray versus before the spray with diverse levels among 3 communes exposed to the spray. The most common abnormal reproductivity was spontaneous abortion, then premature delivery with died infants and congenital defects, the stillbirth and hydratiform mole were with lower rate. Dioxine was transported from the enviroment to human body through the exposed food chain such as chicken, fish, duck

8.Spina bifida occulta among the adult children of veterans exposed to herbicides during wartime was revealed by lumbar vertebra sacral x-rays
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2003;290(11):29-34
213 adult subjects, children of veterans exposed to herbicides sprayed during Ranch Hand Operation (in 1961-1971 war period) and 210 non-exposed subjects were investigated by usual lumbar X-ray. The images showed that spina bifida occulta incidence in exposed group was 1.5 times higher than non-exposed group. Among male subjects, in exposed group, the incidence was 1.7 times higher than non-exposed one, while among female subjects, no difference was recorded. Simple single bifida was 51.6% in exposed group and 41.9% in non-exposed. Multiple vertebra of combinated bifida was 7.9% and 2.4% respectively. The common sites of bifida were L5, S1, S2, S3, among them the site of S1 was most common

9.Hepatoprotective effect of Lingzhi extract on CCl4-induced hepatic lesion
Journal of Medicinal Materials - Hanoi 2005;10(3):88-92
Study on hepatoprotective effects of lingzhi extract on CCl4-induced hepatic lesion, lingzhi formulation produced by OPC Company which reached standards at basic level. Lingzhi dry powder was prepared with distilled water to make liquid extract with concentrations of 15% (15g dry extract/100ml water), 30% and 75%. These liquid extracts were used to test hepatoprotective effects. With low dose CCl4 (0,25%) induced hepatic toxication, 15%, 30% and 75% lingzhi extracts showed hepatoprotective effect. However, with high dose CCl4 (1%), only 30% lingzhi extract showed clear and stable hepatoprotective effects. Experimental trials on hepatic diseases as well as on hepatoprotective medications should provide necessary information on physiopathological characteristics and medicinal therapies

10.H.pylori infection status in gastroduodenal ulcer patients and primary evaluations of bacterial antibiotic sensibility at Can Tho General Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;510(4):47-49
Study on 100 gastroduodenal ulcer patients treated at Can Tho General Hospital between March and December 2001. Results: the prevalence of gastric ulcer was high (58%), followed by duodenal ulcer (39%) and the prevalence of gastroduodenal ulcer was low (3%). The rate of H.pylori positive was 66.66% in duodenal ulcer patients, 55.17% in gastric ulcer patients. The rate of H.pylori infection was 33.33% in gastroduodenal ulcer patients. H.pylori was still sensitive with amoxicillin (97.29%), tetracycline (94.6%), clarythromycine and erythromycin (72.97%), but was highly resistant with metronidazole (91%).
