Malarial statistic data of at HungYen provincial Center of Preventive Medicine shown an incidence of 0,118% of population in the year 2001 and 0,08% in 2002, parasitic rate of 0,68% in 2001 and 0,49% in 2002. All clinical cases and parasitically confirmed cases were infected from the endemic areas , of South Vietnam. Malarial parasite was determined only on laboratories at the level of province and district. At basic level health stations, malarial patients and persons who arrived from endemic regions were not carefully managed

From 1997 to 2000, 22 children aged 5-15 (11 boys, 11 girls) were admitted in emergency department of Pediatric Institute due to intoxincation of Moc dieu. Only 9/17 (52.9%) of subjects described exactly the toxic plant. The most significant clinical signs are vomit and fatigue (100%), jaundice (100%). Hemorrhage of various degree around the orbit (17/17) and the sclera, 15/17 cases of edema and aliogourine. This is a life threatening intoxication in mild and mode rate cases, the prognos is of treatment at the institute is good, only 1 death

During the year 2003 and four months of 2004, 5223 blood slides were collected from Ea Sup district and examined for malaria parasite in 343 positive slides, of which 2.089 negatives and 120 positives were sent from the district microscope points for double checking at the Provincial Malaria Center. The incorrectness at district level was found to be 3,11% with the following common mistakes: P.falciparum infection was mistaken to negative: 27.69%, negatives and P.vivax infection mistaken to P.falciparum infection: 24.41%. P.vivax infection mistaken to negative 13.38%. The incorrectness rates varied from point to point showing the different qualification at each microscope point: Ya Tmot: 2.51%; Ea Roc: 1.57%; Ea Le: 2.58%, Cu Kbang: 6.15%, Cu Mlan: 5.81% and Ya Lop: 3.09%

Peritoneal diagnosis was performed on 3 infants of 7 months, 10 months and 30 months old age with liver and kidney failure associated with severe disorders of vital functions. These 3 subjects were related to intoxication from medicaments or to blood transfusion complications. In combining with comprehend vive treatment of internal surgical techniques A 3-10 day course of diagnosis have saved all these 3 infants, their vital functions including liver and kidney function have turned to normal standards. After 1 year follow up, the results were stable

Two children (11 years old and 3 years old) who bited by hornet with more 50 bites, were admitted in severe condition. Children had severe dysfunction of liver and kidney and 4-5 days of anuria. After unsuccessful treatment internally, peritonial dialysis was performed continously in 6-8 days, 10-12 hours daily. Children were saved and discharged normally

Officers and cadres of various governmental bodies were subjected to this study conducted in Huu Nghi Hospital in the past 10 years (1991-2001). The incidence of cardiovascular and diabetic deseases increased following the anthropometric and nutritional increasing parameters. The mortality of cardiovascular diseases reduced considerably, the mortality of diabetes also reduce with no statistical significant. The incidence of diabetes and hypertension has a positive correlation with blood cholesterol and triglycerid high levels and with BMI and obesity

With the technique of Polymerase Chain Reaction Sequence Specific Primers (PCR-SSP), the diversity of the distribution of allele HLA-DQA1 was investigated on 214 healthy young men and adolescents of 14 and gender ratio 1:1 (male/female). Results showed that 10 alleles HLA-DQA1 were detected, among them, DQA1*0104 is the most common with a frequency of 25.8% and the least common is DQA1*0601 - 1%, all the rest are less than 10%. The diversity of allele HLA-DQA1 in Kinh people in Central Vietnam expressed its ethnical specificity differenciated with other ethmic groups in China and Thailand.

1528 subjects, who visited Huu Nghi Hospital on April, May, June 2002 (1160 males and 368 females) were studied. Average weight in male is 60kg, female 52kg and average height 1.60m and 1.52m respectively. Over weight incidence increased quickly, pre-obesis 24.5% and obesis of 1 grade 1.2%. Average abdomen circumference and abdomen/buttor circumference ratio are higher in male than in female. CT > 6.5 mmol subjects accounted for 27.7%, TG > 2.26mmol: 43.7%, glucose > 11.1mmol/l: 10.5% and blood uric level > 400 micromol/ml: 34.5%
