2.Two Cases of Mesiodens in Nasal Cavity.
Korean Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery 2007;50(12):1167-1169
Supernumerary teeth, which is described as teeth or tooth substance that develops in excess of deciduous and permanent teeth, most commonly involve the anterior maxilla. Mesiodens are one type of supernumerary teeth that develops in paramedian space of premaxilla. Sometimes mesiodens can be inverted with its crown facing the nasal cavity. Because of its own pathology and possible disruption of neighboring normal teeth, supernumerary teeth should be removed regardless of its eruption. We experienced two cases of mesiodens detected in the nasal floor and so report these cases with a review of literature.

Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2007;42(12):718-719
OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of bleaching technique on vital tooth pulp.
METHODSA total of 40 vital teeth extracted for orthodontics were selected, of which, 10 teeth without any treatment served as control, 15 teeth were extracted instantly after bleaching and 15 teeth were extracted 7 days after bleaching. Slides were made from all these three groups and subject to pathological examination under microscope.
RESULTSNo clinical symptoms were found in all the teeth before and after bleaching. All teeth in the three groups showed normal pulp on pathological examination.
CONCLUSIONSBleaching did not affect vital tooth pulp and is a safe technique.

Cornelia de Lange syndrome is a congenital disease, basically characterized by psychomotor retardation associated with a series of malformations, including mainly skeletal, craniofacial deformities together with gastrointestinal and cardiac malformations. There is no definitive biochemical or chromosomal marker for the prenatal diagnosis of this syndrome. We actually want to present the case of a 10-year-old patient, who was admitted to our clinic for dental pain. The patient had the symptoms of Cornelia de Lange syndrome. During the oral examination of this patient, the patient was found to have the typical symptoms of Cornelia de Lange syndrome, such as micrognathia and delayed eruption in conjunction with the symptoms of the Hutchinson's syndrome, which had never been reported before.

This study sought to determine the impact of dental fluorosis severity on demineralization and remineralization of human fluorosed teeth in vitro. Surface enamel microhardness was measured on the enamel blocks before and after demineralization and after remineralization. The results showed that after demineralization, the sequence of % Surface microhardness demineralization (% SMHD) was TFI4 (18.92 +/- 1.31) < TFI3 (20.50 +/- 1.32) < TFI2 (25.08 +/- 1.69) < TFI1 (27.77 +/- 1.79) < TFI0 (30.70 +/- 1.35) (P < 0.05), and there was no statistically significant differences between TFI1 (27.77 +/- 1.79) and the normal group TFI0 (30.70 +/- 1.35). After remineralization, the sequence of % Surface microhardness remineralization (% SMHR) was TFI1 (55.17 +/- 1.23) > TFI0 (53.97 +/- 3.05) > TFI2 (49.17 +/- 1.81) > TFI3 (44.85 +/- 1.89) > TFI4 (36.51 +/- 2.95) (P < 0.05). Moderately fluorosed enamel showed a significatnt resistance to caries, but mildly fluorosed enamel could get better remineralization. These facts and figures deserve clinicians' attention.

10.Clinical, Radiographic and Histopathologic analysis of Odontoma
Journal of the Korean Association of Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons 2001;23(4):332-337
Pathology at Chosun University School of Dentistry. Fifty-six percent of the patients were compound odontoma and 44% were complex odontoma. 56 percent of the patients were female and 44% were male. The odontoma is most often diagnosed in the second decade of life, during routine radiographic examination. The usual presenting symptoms are an impacted or and unerupted tooth, a retained primary tooth. Other less frequent signs and symptoms are pain, swelling, suppuration, foul odor, tooth mobility. In our patients were treated by enucleation of the tumor, and related teeth were treated by surgical extraction or orthodontically assisted eruption.]]>
