1.Advance in Metabolism of n-Alkane and Metabolic Engineering of Candida tropicalis
Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
Metabolism of n-alkane mainly includes ?-oxidation pathway and ?-oxidation pathway in Candida tropicalis, which are both catalyzed by a series of enzymes. The transformation from n-alkane to fatty acid is accomplished via ?-oxidation pathway, and the degradation of fatty acid is involved in ?-oxidation pathway. The mechanism on metabolism of n-alkane and studies on related enzymes are summarized in the review. Furthermore, some molecular genetics and metabolic engineering techniques related to Candida tropicalis developed in recent years are introduced.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the content determination of isoniazid in Isoniazid tablet. METHODS:Mi-crofluidic chip with contactless conductivity detection was adopted. The effects of electrophoresis parameters, such as the variety, concentration,pH,additive types and dosage, injection time and separation voltage on the separation detection were explored. RE-SULTS:The optimized buffer system was 1.86 mmol/L citrate-0.14 mmol/L sodium citrate buffer solution (pH3.0),no additive , the injection time was 20 s and the separation voltage was 2.5 kV. In the optimal conditions, the linear range of isoniazid was 10-200 μg/mL(r=0.9993);the limits of quantification and detection were 8.0 μg/mL and 2.4 μg/mL;RSDs of precision, stability and reproducibility tests were lower than 2.0%;recovery was 97.8%-102.9%(RSD=1.9%,n=9). CONCLUSIONS:The method is rapid and simple, and suitable for the content determination of isoniazid in Isoniazid tablet.

?-(1,3)-D-glucan is a core structure of many bioactive fungal polysaccharides. It has drawn intensive attentions in recent because of its multiple bioactivities, particularly the immunomodulatory and antitumorous actions. In this review, we introduced the studies of structure-activity correlation of these ?-(1,3)-D-glucans, particularly the contributions of main backbone, branch degree and residues, molecular weight and conformation to the activities. We also summarized the recent progress in the detective methods for both quantitation and qualification using limulus G factor assay, galactosyl ceramide ELISA and etc.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(03):-
Objective To investigate the value of endoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of biliary obstructions on different sites with variable causes. Methods The clinical records of biliary drainages under duodenoscope in 104 patients with biliary obstruction from October 1998 to November 2002 was reviewed retrospectively. Results Drainage was successfully completed in 97 patients, with a success rate of 93.3%(97/104). The patients were relieved of their symptoms of biliary obstruction (abdominal pain, jaundice and fever), and the effective rates of ENBD and ERBD were 93.0% (66/71) and 93.3% (28/30), respectively. Conclusions Endoscopic drainage for biliary obstruction has advantages of minimal invasion, rapid recovery, short hospital stay and apparent efficacy. Emphasis should be placed on the site of drainage and proper selection of operative method to further elevate its success rate.

A perfect clinical trial must nave a solid study design, strict conduction, complete quality control, non-interference of statistical result, and acceptable risk-benefit ratio. To reach the target, the quality control (QC) should be performed from the study design to conduction, from the analysis to conclusion. We discuss the relationship between data management and biostatistics from the statistical point of view, and emphasize the importance of the statistical concept and methods in the improvement of data quality in clinical data management.

Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2010;29(8):648-651
Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of two surgical procedures including retropubic space pathway and obturator foramen pathway in treatment of the old women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods Intravaginal Slingplasty (IVS) procedure by retropubic space pathway was performed in 52 cases with simple SUI from June 2003 to June 2005. And the modified Transobturator Vaginal Tape Inside-Out (TVT-O) procedure was carried out in 112 cases with simple SUI from October 2005 to October 2008, using self-tailed polypropylene mesh and helical needles. The comparative retrospective study was performed between these two groups. Results The cure rate was 80.8% (42/52) and the improvement rate was 13.5% (7/52) in IVS group. And the corresponding data were 84.8% (95/112) and 11.6% (13/112) in modified TVT-O group. The 3 (5.8%) cases failed in IVS procedure and 4 (3.6%) cases failed in modified TVT-O procedure at 1 month's follow-up. All of the 7 patients received the 'Tong's hammock procedure' and no cases failed at 6 and 12 month's follow-up. One case of vaginal erosion was found in each group although good effect of continence was observed. Meshes were removed in these two patients and then the 'Tong's hommock procedure' was performed which turned out to be good outcome. Bladder injuries were found in 3 cases when route cystoscopy was performed. No significant difference in efficacy was found between these two groups(P>0. 05). In modified TVT-O group, operative duration, blood loss and medical cost were significantly reduced as compared with IVS group (P<0. 01). Conclusions Both of the two surgical procedures of modified TVT-O versus IVS are simple, safe and mini-invasive procedures with high efficacy. However, the modified TVT-O procedure is more easy to be adopted by patients due to short operative time and lower medical cost.

Objective To explore the correlation between nursing students' hardiness personality and professional commitment. Methods 1 115 undergraduate nursing students from 3 medical universities in Guangzhou were investigated with the scales of hardiness personality and nursing professional commitment. Results The scores of hardiness personality and professional commitment were (2.55 ± 0.44) and (2.70 ± 0.43),respectively,and both of them were at the middle level.Correlation analysis revealed that hardiness personality was positively related to professional commitment (P<0.01),and the challenge dimension of hardiness personality had positive predictive effect on professional commitment. Conclusions Nursing educators should take measures to improve students' hardiness personality and professional commitment. It would help maintain the stability of the whole nursing team.
