Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2009;16(5):773-775
Objective To analyze the relationship between the varicosity of esophagus and portal hypertensive gastropathy(PHC) in patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage of hepatocirrhosis. Methods The damage degree of esophageal varicosity was divided into four grades and the PHG were divided into three groups according to the McCormack standards by emergency gastric endoscopy. Results Among 200 patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage,100 cases(50. 0%) were caused by esophageal varicosity explosion and 44 cases(22. 2% ) were induced by PHG,38 cases (19. 0%) were due to gastric ulcer, 18 cases (9. 0%) were duo to other causes. Comparison between etiology and liver function of A-class(except for other reasons group) were significantly different(X2 =4. 23 ,X2 =4. 15 ,X2 =4. 18,X2 =4. 07,P<0. 05 ;X2 =6. 83 ,X2 =7. 01 ,P<0. 01 ) ;The portal vein diameter>1.5cm bleeding incidence(32. 5% ) were significantly higher than the diameter<1. 1cm bleeding incidence( 12. 5% ) (X2 =4. 73 ,P <0. 05 ) ;The degree of PHG in severe esophageal varices (55. 6% ) were significantly higher than the mild esophageal varices( 11.1% )( X2 = 7.73, P<0. 01 ). The correlation between PHG degree and esophagus varicosity were positive related(r=0.455,X2 = 4.01,P<0.05). Conclusion The esophageal varicosity explosion and PHG are two major factors to cause hepatocirrhosis complicated with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhagein. The more severe the damage degree of esophageal varicosity is,the higher incidence and the more severe the PHG will be.
7.Developing high quality chemical probes targeting ubiquitin-specific proteases
Chinese Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology 2016;30(6):611-619
Ubiquitin-specific proteases (USPs) regulate the deconjugation of ubiquitin tag from substrate proteins. Dysregulation of USPs has been linked to many diseases. Despite extensive efforts by academia and industry, high quality chemical molecules targeting the USPs family of ubiquitin enzymes are still scarce. In this commentary,I propose the criteria of a high quality chemical probe and the strategies to target USPs.
8.Effects of iridoid on spermatogenesis of nicotinamide-streptozotocin induced type-2 diabetic mice
Tianjin Medical Journal 2016;44(7):853-856
Objective To investigate the effects of iri doid on the spermatogenesis in mice of type-2 diabetes induced by nicotinamide and streptozotocin. Methods Fifty-six male C57BL mice were randomly divided into seven groups (n=8 for each group):control group, diabetic group, diabetic and glibenclamide (0.25 mg/kg) group, diabetic and iridoid (20 and 40 mg/kg) group, and iridoid (20 and 40 mg/kg) group. Diabetic model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (65 mg/kg) and nicotinamide (120 mg/kg). Glibenclamide and iridoid were orally fed for 28 days. Twenty-four hours after the last treatment, blood samples, testis and the epididymis were collected for detecting blood hormones, testicular biopsy, and the evaluation of sperm parameters. Results The body weights of diabetic mice were recovered from the reduction after treatment with 40 mg/kg of iridoid and glibenclamide(P<0.05). The sperm count and viability were significantly decreased in diabetic group compared with those of control group (P<0.05). The sperm count was significantly increased in diabetic and glibenclamide group than that of diabetic group (P<0.05). The serum levels of lutein hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and testosterone (T) were significantly decreased in diabetic group compared with those of control group (P<0.05). The serum levels of LH, FSH and T were increased after treatment with 40 mg/kg of iridoid and glibenclamide (P<0.05). Conclusion These results suggest that iridoid can reduce the level of oxidative damage in
diabetic mice, and effectively improve the fertility of mice.
