The objective of this study are:
1. to briefly discuss the right approach in managing trauma patients
2. to present the different medical conditions manifesting as right sided heart
3. to discuss the incidence, pathophysiology and manifestations of dextrocardia
4. to discuss the correlation of the perioperative supraventricular tachycardia to hypovolemia and the concurrent dextrocardia
5. to offer a plausible anesthetic approach to patients with dextrocardia

2.Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy in a pediatric patient: a case report

This is a case of a 2 year old and 6 month, 11 kilogram male, who underwent two sessions of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for right multiple nephrolithiasis. On both occasions, he was given balanced anesthesia with dexmedetomidine, ketamine and caudal block with 2% bupivacaine. With proper precautionary and protective measures exercised, 4,000 shockwaves were delivered waves for each session, while the patient was sleeping comfortably without experiencing any complications. At the end of each session, the patient was responsive to verbal stimuli 10 -15 minutes after discontinuation of dexmedetomidine infusion; and fully awake five minutes later, with neither undue stress nor pain.
