Center for the trauma and orthopady treated 200 cases of foot deformity in which 1,500 cases received operations. Most of them were congenital club foot (70%) followed by club food due to the polio fever(20%) due to the brain paralysis (5%) and due to arthrogrip ossis (5%). The orthopadic equipments were applied for 35 cases. The equipment was used within 5 weeks and continuously fixed by gypsum up to 3 months from the day of operation.

Varicocele is a dilatation of plexus venosus in the spermatic cord. It rarely occurs before the age of puberty, but 15% of male teenager experienced varicocele (the rate is relatively high). Fifty three of normogravid - normotensive women who subsequently developed pregnancy - included hypertension demonstrated an increase in diastolic blood pressure at least 20 mmHg when turned from the lateral recumbent to the supine position, between twenty eight and thirty six weeks of gestation. Conversely 95.8% percent of women who did not demonstrate such a rise in diastolic blood pressure when turned to supine position did not become hypertensive during that pregnancy. The results demonstrated the high validity of this method as follow: the sensivity of predictive value: 65%. The specificity of predictive value: 93%, the positive predictive value: 53%, the negative predictive value: 96%.

30 patients aged 18-60 years old with melasma localized at the epiderm and epiderm plus mesoderm layer topically treated by 2% hydroquinone preparation within 6 months at the Venero-dermatol Institute were evaluated. Good and very good results reached in 42.5%. The size of lesion minimized by > 10% each months, especially 21% in the 2nd month. Mean size of lesion minimized by 75%. In 11.2% of patients, the size of lesion minimized by 90-100% and 56.3% of patients had got the lesion of 70-89% minimized size.

An investigation was conducted at Loc Ha dignity restoration center, 400 newly admitted prostitutes into the center undewent serum examination at the Preventive Medicine Centre, ELISA assay at Military Hospital 108, RPR technique at the Hanoi Venero-Dermatology Centre from June to Demcember 2000. Results showed an incidence of HIV of 13%, HCV of 26.3%, syphylis 7.4%. The risk of HIV infection on the subjects with HCV(+), syphylis(+), the drug intravenous users, the subjects of HCV(+)/HIV(+) was higher by 75% than those of HCV(+)/HIV(+) 19.5%.

A study of clinical features and treatment was carried out on 1021 patients with schizophrenia at the Mental Department in the Military Hospital No 103 from January 1998 to December 2002. Results of the study: paranoid schizophrenia was 52.20%, delusion and hallucination symptoms were diversified. Loss of exercise symptom was 45.15%. Some typical drugs with medium dose were used. The percentage of complete recovery was 1.27%, abundant recovery (92.17%), mild recovery (4.80%), no improvement (1.76%). The common side effects of typical drug were extrapyramidal, allergic, depressive and chronic hepatitis

The usefulness of peritoneal lavage in the identification of patients who require laparotomy after close abdominal trauma is not controversial. The diagnostic accuracy of peritoneal lavage in blunt abdominal trauma has been shown of 100%. In this collected of 17 patients, the false positive rate was 0%.
