1.Fulfilment of the RT - PCR quantitative and application of the quantitation of the CK 20 gen in the peripheric blood of the colon cancer
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;295(2):27-30
The authors carried out of the study on ARN message extrait from the peripheric blood of the 20 patients diagnosed to have colon cancer and 13 control healthy persons by RT - PCR quantitative with marker CK 20. The obtained results are as follows: The technique have been fulfilled; The CK 20 in the patients and the healthy person is not significant different

2.Conservative treatment of unruptured ectopic pregnancy at Hung Vuong Hospital
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(6):29-32
A prospective study was conducted at Hung Vuong Hospital from 2002 to 2004 on total of 1423 ectopic pregnancy cases to find out determinants of operation methods, either by laparoscopy or laparotomy, in conservative treatment of unruptured ectopic pregnancy. 355 patients were enrolled in the study with 190 laparoscopic operations and 165 laparotomy operations. Factors favored to laparotomy included history of ectopic pregnancy, ectopic mass<30mm and serum o-hCG at the time of operation<1000 mUI/ml. Determinants for laparoscopic operation included maternal aged 24-35 years, blood loss<100 ml and the surgeons familiar to laparoscopy. Laparoscopy method had operation time shorter than laparotomy, and there is no difference between the two methods concerning persistent ectopic pregnancy

3.The application of the PCR technique to find the DYZ gene for the Y chromosome determination
Journal of Medical Research 2003;24(4):41-45
On 40 subjects of unspecified gender, PCR technique application for identifying DYZ1 gen to determine Y chromosome was performed in 38 subjects (95%). The results were conformed with PCR to identify TDF and the caryotype of the control group using PCR for detecting DYZ gen in determining Y chromosome. The accuracy reached 100% with no pseudonegative or pseudopositive results. The rest 5% (2 subjects) had not Y chromosome definitely. A case of TDF on X chromosome was detected affirmatively, as a first case in Vietnam.

4.The identification of new viral encephalitis that was isolated from cerebrospinal fluids of acute encephalitis syndrome patients by electron microscopy
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;494(11):57-59
The application of electron microscopy to the rapid diagnosis of viral infection is an important and integral part of diagnostic procedures. Negative staining with a solution of uranyl acetate, which is an electron-dense salt used to stain virus particles, fills the interstices of the virus surface giving the resulting electron micrograph. With ultrathin section was given that new viral encephalitis from cerebrospinal fluids of acute encephalitis syndrome patients a spherical, RNA virus, have enveloped virions about 50-60 min diameter. This virus was sensitivity with C6/36 clone of Aedes albopictus as well as many arboviruses.

5.Methotrexate (MTX) in medical treatment of unruptured ectopic pregnancies: a non-controlled clinical trial at Hung Vuong hospital
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2004;0(3):135-139
110 cases of unruptured ectopic pregnancy were treated, among them 61 cases (55,5%) with 1 dose of methotrexate, 40 with 2 doses (36,4) and 9 with 3 doses (8,1%). Successful rate reached 90,9% (84-95%). β- HCG took 13 (±10,3) days to return to negative point. It took 31,8 (±20,7) days for ectopic pregnant mass to disappear. Not any severe side effect was notified, except 5 cases of nausea. After treating and 12 months of follow up,47,8% of cases had got new pregnancy, among them,9,9% had reccured ectopic pregnancy. Methotrexat is an efficacious internal therapeutic for unrupted ectopic pregnancy

6.Progress in detection and treatment of ovarian cancer at Hung Vuong hospital, from 1993 to 2002
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2004;4(5):259-261
Ovarian tumor remains a challenge for gynecologists globally. The introduction of ultrasound classification system has contributed to the evaluation of tumor nature, and then guided to an appropriate operation procedure. From 1993 to 2002, there were 226 cases of ovarian cancer operated at Hung Vuong hospital, there were included in 2 consecutive periods of without or with routineapplication of preoperative ultrasound classification system. During the second period and as a result preoperative ultrasound was done more systematically, the preoperative diagnosis was more accurate, and the disease was postoperatively staged earlier

7.Determination of the excess of insectiside excess on leaves of Crinum latifolium L. by TLC and GC
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;276(4):22-27
By the methods of GC and TLC, the residues of pesticides in the leaves of Crinum latifolium L. were determined after these pesticides were used for the protection of the plant. The methods of TLC and GC can be used for evaluating the residue of some pesticides.

8.Application of the PCR technique in identification of fetal gender in amniotic liquid
Journal of Medical Research 1999;9(1):3-6
Subjects: Amniotic liquids of 25-35 pregnant women in labor. Method: single blind DNA from 1.5 ml of amniotic liquid is reacted by PCR which show that the specific pair of AMELA and AMELB help for synthesis of gene TDF is decision factor for male gender belonging the short sequence of chromosome. The product of reaction will indicate the fetal gender. The correct of technique is 86.7%, and rest is false negative.

9.Study on the morbidity structure in children with ages of 6-15 in Kien Thuy and Ngo Quyen districts, Hai Phong city
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):48-54
In order to build percentages of morbidity of children (in science project 11-13), the authors have examined 2,809 children, aged 6-15 (male: 1,420, female: 1,389) at Kien Thuy and Ngo Quyen districts, Hai Phong city according to form of Pediatric Institute. Following conclusions have been drawn: 1. The general ratio of diseases in children 6-15 years old in two areas is 44.49%, in those, the ratio of acute disease is 7.75%, ratio of chronic diseases is 36.59%. The general prevalence of diseases in Kien Thuy is higher than its in Ngo Quyen. 2. The ratio of diseases group: *The ratio of oro-dental disease is highest (44.57%), in those the ratio of dental caries is 27.41%.* The ratio of ear-nose-throat diseases is second (22.21%), most of all are chronic ear- nose- throat diseases: chronic tonsillitis is 5.98%, chronic nasophryngitis is 2.63 * The ratio of goitre disease is the third (30.41%), most of all are degree I *The ratio of the eyes diseases is the fourth (16.63%) In those trachoma is 3.42% *The ratio of digestive disease is 11.32% *The ratio of the skin disease is 5.83% 3. Other diseases: ratio of the arthropathies and osteopathies is 4.56%. Ratio of the arthropathies and osteopathies is 4.56%. Ratio of the urinary diseases is 1.89%. Ratio of the accident is 1.89%. Ratio of the mental disorders is 0.31%. Ratio of the lower respiratory disease is 0.96%. Ratio of the circulatory disease is 0.50%.

10.Sequencing of gag gene for classification of HIV subtype from the patients living in the Northern area of Vietnam
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(5):96-100
Using nested PCR with the specific primers for gag gene and the sequencing data from blood samples of HIV patients, we demonstrated that subtype E is also very common in the Northern area of Vietnam. This method can be applied for the cloning of HIV genes and molecular epidemiology of HIV-l in Vietnam.
