Purpose To investigate the effect of low contrast dose and low tube voltage combined with adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASIR) on image quality of abdominal CT angiography. Materials and Methods 139 patients with body mass index (BMI) <22 kg/m2 who were supposed to undergo abdominal dynamic contrast-enhanced examination were prospectively enrolled and randomly divided into group A with 78 cases (80 kVp tube voltage +50% ASIR, contrast agent concentration 270 mgI/ml) and group B with 61 cases (120 kVp tube voltage, contrast agent concentration 350 mgI/ml). Subjective score of right renal artery image quality of the two groups were evaluated and the coefficient between them was tested; CT dose index of volume (CTDIvol), CT values of abdominal aorta and its branches, and the right side erector spinae, contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the vessel, the right erector spinae image noise (SD), and the total amount of iodine were also compared between the two groups. Results The inter observer agreement for subjective scores were very good (Kappa value>0.80) in both groups, the subjective score of group A and group B were 4.60±0.51 and 3.81±0.76, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (Z= - 6.86, P<0.05). CTDIvol of group A and group B were (5.56±4.21) mGy and (7.11±1.54) mGy, respectively, the difference was statistically significant (t= - 9.89, P<0.01); CT values of the arteries in both groups were all greater than 400 HU; CT values and the CNR of the abdominal aortic trunk and branches in group A were higher than those of group B (P<0.05); there was no statistically significant difference of image noise between the two groups (P>0.05). The total amount of iodine dose in group A and group B was 270 mg and 350 mg respectively, with a 22.86% reduce of the total iodine for each patient in A group than in B group. Conclusion For patients with BMI<22 kg/m2, it is feasible to use low dose contrast medium with low tube voltage and ASIR, which may not only improve the image quality of abdominal CTA but also reduce the radiation dose and iodine content.

The three-in-one immunoaffinity column ( IAC ) for the determination of aflatoxin B1 ( AFB1 )-zearalenone (ZEN)-deoxynivalenol (DON) was prepared with rProtein A-sepharose 4B as the column matrix. The comprehensive performance ( such as nonspecific adsorption, column blank, column capacity, column efficiency and sample standard addition recovery rate) was evaluated and investigated. The results showed that, the column capacities of AFB1 , ZEN, DON were 295 ng per 0. 25 mL gel, 905 ng per 0. 25 mL gel, 2342 ng per 0. 25 mL gel, respectively, and the column blank was 0. The average recoveries of AFB1 , ZEN and DON were 97. 4%, 98. 0% and 98. 4%, respectively. By optimizing conditions, the samples were extracted using the mixture of methanol and water (80:20, V/V), and diluted with phosphate buffered saline (contain 0. 1% Tween-20, PBST). The detection results of FAPAS (Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme) by different batch three-in-one columns were close to the target value. The prepared three-in-one immunoaffinity column which could take the place of conventional single immunoaffinity column was able to meet the requirement for treatment of food and feed samples, and lay a foundation for one step enrichment, purification and detection of multi-mycotoxins.

Objective To study the feasibility of using heat and moisture exchangers (HME)as an alternative to heated humidifiers (HH) in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. Methods 266 pa-tients with mechanical ventilation admitted to our ICU over the recent 3 years were allocated to the experi-mental group (humidification with a heat and moisture exchanger) and the control group (with heated hu-midifier), and the effect of humidification, the reserved time of artificial airway, the time on mechanical yen-tilation, the time of stay in ICU, the ineidenee of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and the mor-tality rate were comparatively studied and analyzed. Results Significant differences were found between the experimental and the control group in effect of humidification, insufficiency of humidification or excessive hu-midification, airway spasm and time on mechanical ventilation and time of stay in ICU. The incidence of VAP in the control group was significantly higher than that in the experimental group. There were no significant dif-ference between the two groups in the reserved time of artificial airway and the mortality rate. There were no accident of humidification occurred in the experimental group while there were one case complicated with air-way burn and 11 eases complicated with choking with water in the control group. Conclusions We conclude that HH can be replaced by HME on mechanical ventilation while disease evolution and effect of humidification should be monitored closely and keep HME unobstructed.

Objective:To observe the expression of wnt1 in patients with oral submucous fibrosis(OSF) before and after treatment.Methods:40 patients with OSF were treated with triamcinolone acetonide combined with salvia miltiorrhiza,Before and after 4 weeks treatment,pain score of VAS and mouth opening(MO) were examined.wnt1 protein in saliva and gingival crevicular fluid(GCF) was examined by ELISA,wnt1 mRNA expression in buccal mucosa tissue was examined by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR.20 healthy subjects were served as the controls.Results:The expression of wnt1 in OSF group[buccal tissue RT-PCR (36.89 ± 10.40) × 10-5,saliva ELISA (61.61 ± 4.45) ng/L,GCF ELISA (56.20 ± 3.65) ng/L] were significantly higher than that of control group [buccal tissue RT-PCR (4.63 ± 1.53) × 10-5,saliva ELISA (40.26 ± 3.00) ng/L,GCF ELISA (53.45 ± 1.74) ng/L)] (P ＜ 0.01).In OSF group,after treatment VAS was decreased(P ＜0.01),MO increased(P ＜0.01)),Buccal mucosa wnt1 mRNA level was positively correlated with wnt1 protein in saliva and GCF,negativity with MO (P ＜ 0.05),saliva wnt1 was positively correlated with VAS and GCF wnt1,negitively with MO(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion:Wnt1 might take part in the occurrence and development of OSF.The detection of wnt1 in saliva and GCF might be a noninvasive method for the evaluation of OSF treatment.

OBJECTIVE: Regional nodal metastasis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma plays an important role in the definition of radiotherapy area and clinical stage. It is also one of the main factors influencing prognosis. This study was designed to explore the pattern of metastatic lymph nodes for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which might provide a basis for clinical treatment and research. METHOD: From Jan. 2009 to Jul. 2011, 1 298 histologically diagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients had routine MRI scan before radiotherapy in The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. Diagnostic radiologists and radiation oncologists together assessed the nodal distribution according to the guideline CT-based delineation of lymph node levels. Then,Chi-square test was used to analyze the correlations between T stage and nodal metastasis rate and between nodal diameter and nodal extracapsular invasion. RESULT: Of 1298 patients, 1067 (82.2%) had nodal involvement. The distributions were as: 20 in level I b,604 in level II a,883 in level II b,330 in level III, 78 in level IV, 162 in level Va,49 in level Vb,967 in retropharynx. Leap metastasis rate was 0.69%. In these patients, a total of 2464 positive nodes,including 1589 (64.52%) extra capsular spread nodes, were detected. The rate of nodal extracapsular invasion was higher when the axial diameter increased. No significant correlation was found between T stage and nodal involvement. CONCLUSION The level II and retropharyngeal node are the most frequently involved regions. They have similar metastatic rate and are both the first echo node to metastases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Level I metastasis is very low. There is a positive correlation between the proportion of extracapsular spread of metastatic lymph nodes and the axial diameter of lymph nodes. The cervical node involvement of nasopharyngeal carcinoma spread orderly down the neck, and the incidence of skip metastasis is rare. There is no significant difference between T stage and nodal involvement.

Objective To observe the changes of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in patients with postoperative colorectal cancer before and after chemotherapy, and to evaluate the changes of immune function status. Methods 74 patients with stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ colorectal cancer after radical resection admitted in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital from January to December 2016 were enrolled. 25 non-malignant patients in the same period in our hospital were selected as the control group. Flow cytometry was used to analyze the proportion of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets at one day before the first, sixth and eighth cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy. Results There were no differences in CD3+ (P =0.1532), CD3+CD4+ (P=0.1107), CD3+CD8+ (P=0.2576) T cells in the peripheral blood between patients with colorectal cancer after radical operation and control group (P>0.05). While CD3+CD56+NKT cells (P=0.0210) and CD3-CD56+NK cells (P=0.0045) in the patients with colorectal cancer after radical operation were significantly higher than those of the control group (P <0.05). There was no significant change in the proportion of NK and NKT cells before 6 cycles of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy (P>0.05). There was no significant change in the proportion of NKT cells before 8 cycles (P>0.05), and the proportion of NK cells only decreased slightly (19.10±4.63 vs 20.31±4.66, P=0.046). Conclusion The proportion of NK and NKT cells in patients with colorectal cancer after radical resection was significantly higher than that in healthy people, and the expression rate remains stable after adjuvant chemotherapy.

Objectives To investigate the effects of cell aging on the disorders relating to gastric mucosa aging.Methods A treatment of 200 μmol/L H2O2 was used to induce senescence of human gastric epithelial cell line GES-1,and the cell growth curve was monitored.Senescence secretory phenotypes were observed by detecting the protein level of p53 and p16INK4a with senescence-associated β-galactosidase(SA-β gal)staining and Western blot testing.The mRNA levels of senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP)factors in human gastric epithelial GES-1 cell including IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,TGF-β、IFN-γ,and VEGF-A were detected by RT PCR.The mRNA expression levels of IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,TGF-β,IFN-γ,and VEGF in the conditioned medium were detected by ELISA analysis.Results The 200 μmol/L H2O2-induced GES-1 cells stopped proliferating after 3 days of treatment,and cells enlarged and flattened at 10 days.The increased SA-β-gal staining(P＜0.001) and the increased expression levels of p53 and p16INK4a proteins indicated the success of establishing the aging model of GES-1.The mRNA levels of IL 1β,IL6,IL8,TGF-β,and IFNγ were higher(t=2.94,3.38,3.15,3.64,2.97;P=0.015,0.000,0.000,0.000,0.000)and the mRNA level of VEGF-A was lower(t=2.31,P =0.20) in senescent GES-1 cells than in the control group.In the conditioned medium of senescent GES-1 cells,the levels of IL-1β,IL6,IL8,TGF-β1,and IFNγ were higher in the H2O2-induced group [(3.12±0.21)μg/L,(4.26±0.15)μg/L,(3.37±0.14)μg/L,(5.34±0.19)μg/L,and(2.90±0.47)μg/L]than in the negative control group[(0.24±0.04,0.04±0.07,0.52±0.02,1.05±0.10,0.52±0.02,respectively,P＜0.001)],while the level of VEGF was lower in the H2O2-induced group than in the negative control group(0.21±0.03)μg/L vs (0.59±0.07)μg/L(P＜0.05).Conclusions The changes in senescence-associated secretory phenotype factors of the aging human gastric epithelial cells induced by oxidative stress may promote chronic gastritis and gastric cancer.

Objective To investigate the effect of asymptomatic hyperuricemia after renal transplantation on renal function of the grafts.Methods The follow-up data were retrospectively collected and analyzed in 144 patients with renal transplantation from January 2010 to March 2015.The patients were classified into three groups according to the level of serum uric acid (SUA):group A (normal group),group B (asymptomatic hyperuricernia with average SUA less than or equal to 360 μmol/L after treatment),and group C (asymptomatic hyperuricemia with average SUA greater than 360μmol/L after treatment).The renal function indexes such as serum creatinine (SCr) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were compared among three groups from 12 to 48 months after transplantation.Results The SCr and eGFR showed no significant difference between group A and group B at 12th month (P＞0.05),but ther are superior than Group Ⅲ (P＜0.05).Conclusion After renal transplantation,asymptomatic hyperuricemia can lead to impaired renal function,and there are no significant differences in renal function between renal transplant recipients with normal SUA levels after treatment and those without hyperuricemia.

Objective　To analyze the expression of miRNA-204 in hippocampus of epileptic mice based on gene chip.Methods　Differential genes were detected by microarray in hippocampal tissues of epileptic mice,and their target genes were enriched and pathway analyzed by bioinformatics.Results　The expression of miRNA-204,a differential gene associated with epilepsy,was down-regulated,and 457 related target genes were predicted.The function of 27 genes (P<0.01) and 16 signaling pathways (P<0.05) were obtained by enrichment analysis.Conclusion　Through analysis,the effect of miRNA-204 down-regulation on epileptic mice was clarified,and the miRNA-204 related pathway Wnt was analyzed,laying a foundation for further study on the regulation mechanism of miRNA-204 on epilepsy.

It is a challenge to determine the cause of death in cases caused by both injury and disease in forensic pathology examinations.Here,we retrospectively analyzed 140 such cases enrolled in the Sun Yat-sen University Forensic Identification Center from 2013 to 2021.It was found that the cases caused by both injury and disease accounted for 2.89%of the total number of cases during the same period.The male-to-female ratio was 5.09.Cardiovascular disease accounted for 71.43%of the death-leading diseases,and coronary heart disease accounted for 49.29%.Among the three types of injury and disease relationship,the proportion of disease-based and injury-assisted cases accounted for more than half(65.86%),and the proportion of injury and disease with the same effect cases was the least(12.14%).Medical treatment was involved in as more as 82.86%of the cases.Re-identification were carried out in 10.71%of the cases,53.33%of which were with a≤24-hour-survival time,higher than the proportion(20.80%)of this survival time in initial identification cases(x2 = 13.84,P = 0.000 2).This study revealed the epidemiological characteristics of cases caused by both injury and disease,and supplied useful data for improving the level of forensic identification in such cases.
