Objective To evaluate the effects of simvastatin on the vascular elasticitv in fat-fed rabbits by echo-tracking(ET)technique.Methods Twenty seven rabbits were divided randomly into 3 groups:normal control group(group A),high fat diet group(group B),simvastatin group(group C:high fat diet for the 1st 4 weeks and high fat diet+simvastatin for the 2nd 4 weeks).β,EP,AC,and PWVβof abdominal aorta (AO) and femoral artery(FA)of rabbits in group A、B、C were measured by ET technique at the end of 4th week and 8th week respectively. The expression of iNOS was measured at the end of 8th week. Results At the end of the 4th week,β,Ep,and PWVβ of FA were significantly inereased and AC was significantly decreased in group B compared to those in group A(P<0.05).At the end of the 8th week,β,Ep,PWVβof AO were significantly increased and AC was significantly decreased in group B compared to those in group A(P<0.05);β,Ep,PWVβ of FA were statistically decreased and AC was statistically increased in group C compared to those in group B(P<0.05),however there was no significant difference of AO between groups B and C.Conclusions Short-term administration of simvastatin can improve the elasticity of some muscular arteries such as FA but not AO.

In order to improve the sterilizer operators' skills and reduce sterilization failure caused by wrong operations, the standardized training and examinations were provided for the sterilizer operators in accordance with their years of working ex-perience and professional title. The results indicated that the standardized training could improve the quality of sterilization, prolong the life of sterilizer and avoid sterilization failure due to wrong operations.

Objective To explore the safety of bedside bowel movement during the earlY phase of patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods 55 patients were randomly divided into the experimental group(28 cases)and the control group(27 cases). The experimental group adopted bedside bowel movement while the control group used routine in-bed bowel movement. The heart rate, blood pressure and myocardial oxygen comsumption(D-P)were observed. Results The heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure in the control group were higher than those in steady state(P<0.05).While in the experimental group the above factors were not statistically different from those in steady state (P>0.05).The D-P both increased in the two groups compared with that in steady state(P<0.05).The incidence of uncomfortable complaint and complications were not different between the two groups but the rate of constipation and mean in-hospital days were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion It proved safe and applicable for patients with AMI to adopt bedside bowel movement during 24 to 72hours after infarction under the electrocardiac and blood pressure monitoring if their vital signs were steady and did not have any serious complications.

Objective To systematically retrieve, evaluate and integrate evidences about the assessment and management of perioperative pain in patients with acute aortic dissection. Methods PIPOST model was used to identify themes of assessment and management of perioperative pain. The literatures in the themes was systematically searched through the databases of UpToDate,JBI,BMJ Best Practice, practice guide REgistration for trans RAREncy(PREPARE),Guidelines International Network(GIN),National Guideline Clearinghouse(NGC),National Institute for Health and Care Excellence(NICE),Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network(SIGN),New Zealand Guidelines Group(NZGG),Registered Nurses'Association of Ontario(RNAO),Australian Clinical Practice Guidelines(ACPG),American Heart Association(AHA),European Society of Cardiology(ESC),the Chinese Cochrane Center,Medlive,Cochrane library,PubMed,SinoMed,CNKI,Wangfan Data, and VIP.The retrieved literatures were evaluated and the evidences that met the inclusive criteria were extracted from the literatures by researchers who had trained for evidence-based study. Results A total of 17 studies, including 5 guidelines,3 expert consensus,6 systematic reviews and 3 randomised controlled trials were included in this study.Totally,29 pieces of best evidence were extracted in the assessment and management of pain in perioperative patients with acute aortic dissection, including pain assessment, basic principles of pain management, medication intervention strategies of pain management,non-medication intervention strategies of pain management, pain evaluation, education of pain management and organising pain management. Conclusion Evidences in assessment and management of pain in perioperative patients with acute aortic dissection can provide references and guidance for clinical practice.

Objective:To explore a preliminary method for comprehensive motor function assessment in older adults in order to promote functional maintenance and independent living.Methods:Cross-sectional study.A total of 1, 680 elderly people aged 60 years and above, aged(69.3±6.8)years, were recruited by volunteer recruitment at the Beijing Hospital Physical Examination Centre and Dongcheng District community, and exercise data were collected on 5 sit-ups, 6 m daily stride, 3 m rise and walk, grip strength, back grip test, chair sit forward bending, and three-posture standing, and the method of exercise function assessment was determined by applying statistical analysis combined with expert guidance. Results:Handgrip strength, Five-time-repeated sit-to-stand, usual gait speed, and 3-meter-timed up and go test were selected for motor function assessment(factor loadings: 0.428, 0.767, 0.725, 0.841, respectively). The motor score was calculated by weighted sum of each indicator with the same weight.Through calculating, the motor score significantly decreased with ageing(60-64 years: 13.9, 65-69 years: 13.4, 70-74 years: 12.7, 75-79 years: 11.3, 80+ years: 9.1; F=89.469, P<0.001).Older adults with moderate activities had higher scores than those without moderate activities(13.6 and 12.4, respectively; t=-8.003, P<0.001). Conclusions:A method for motor function assessment in older adults was established, which can be used in the early recognition of motor function impairment, such as sarcopenia, fall, and disability.
