Objective:To investigate the expression of CD55 in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and its correlations with prognosis. Methods: The expressions of CD55 was detected by immunohistochemistry Streptavidin-Peroxidase method in 100 cases of triple-negative breast cancer and 50 cases of adjacent-carcinoma tissues, with clinical and pathological features and follow-up data, the Cox model analysis was established and to analyze the prognostic factors. Results: The positive expression of CD55 was 56.0% in the tissues from triple-negative breast cancer, whereas its positive rate was 8.0% in the corresponding adjacent breast tissues, with statistical significance (x2=32.0,P<0.05). The expression of CD55 was significantly related with tumor size, clinical stage and axillary lymph node metastases (x2=7.404,x2=8.688,x2=4.802;P<0.05); the expression of CD55 did not show correlation to age, and histologic grade. Multivariate analysis showed that the age, clinical stage, CD55 protein expression and axillary lymph node metastasis were the independent risk factors affecting the 5-year disease-free rate of patients and that clinical stage and axillary lymph node metastasis were the independent risk factors affecting the 5-year overall rate of patients. Conclusion: The expression of CD55 might be related to the development and prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer. The expression of CD55 may be used as one of the indicators in determining the progress and prognosis of TNBC.

BACKGROUND:Corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head is one of the major causes of the loss of hip joint function. More and more studies have shown that corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head may be associated with proliferation ability of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.
OBJECTIVE:To detect the proliferation and differentiation ability of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells isolated from patients with steroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head, providing rational evidences for treatment of corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head with the transplantation of autologous bone marrow containing bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells into the necrotic area of femoral head.
METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from the femoral heads were col ected from patients with corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head, and new femoral neck fractures without osteonecrosis who were scheduled for total hip arthroplasty. In another group, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were col ected from ilium bone marrow of the same steroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head patients. The femoral neck fracture was defined as fracture without preceding trauma or in response to minimal trauma. Cases with corticoid treatment were excluded from the femur neck fracture patients. Al bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were divided three groups:femoral neck fracture group;femoral head group of corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head;ilium group of corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head. The bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were isolated by enzyme digestion or density gradient centrifugation from bone marrow blood of the three detecting area, and then selected by the adhesive method. Passage 3 bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were selected for experiments.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The results of methyl-thiazolyl-tetrazolium assay indicated that the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells obtained from the femoral head group showed reduced proliferation ability compared with those obtained from the other two groups. The percentage of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells was increased at G 0/G 1 , but decreased significantly at S+G 2/M in the femoral head group (P<0.05). The bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells obtained from the ilium group were proliferated best. The decreased proliferation ability of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells may play a role in the low repair capacity of corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head, and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from the ilium of patients with corticosteroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head have a better proliferative ability.

Objective In order to choose the best surgical approach for minimally trauma varicocelectomy color Doppler ultrasound(CDU) was used to detect the anatomic relationships of spermatic vein in groin. Methods Sixty varicocele patients were randomly selected. Their spermatic veins were examined by CDU which beginning from superficial inguinal ring, passing the crossing point of spermatic vein and femoral artery ,and ending at the 3cm above the deep inguinal ring. The depths from skin to spennatic vein were measured and the relationships between spermatic vein and femoral artery were recorded. Results The average length of incision is 2.1cm and the average duration of operation is 22 minutes. The average depth from skin to spermatic vein was 1.1cm,1.55cm and 3.56cm respectively at the site of the superficial inguinal ring, the crossing point of spermatic vein and femoral artery, and the deep ingui-nal ring. Conclusion The best approach for minimally trauma varicocelectomy is at the crossing point of spermatic vein and femoral artery because here the spermatic vein is relative superficial and has merged into two or three vessels and the femoral artery can be easily touched by fingers.

Chemotherapy as a routine method for clinical treatment of cancer has disadvantages such as significant toxicity and strong resistance. In order to improve the efficacy of the drugs and reduce the by-effects, we tried to combine static magnetic field (SMF) with cisplatin or adriamycin. The growth of Hepa1-6 cells treated with the static magnetic field (SMF) combined with cisplatin or adriamycin was significantly inhibited, as detected with MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide) test. Combined treatment group cells underwent significant morphological changes as observed by HE (Hematoxylin and eosin) staining under optical microscope. Cell cycle analysis indicated that SMF increased the ratio of cells arrested in G2/M phase caused by cisplatin, and when treated with SMF combined with adriamycin, cells were almost arrested in G1 and G2/M phase. SCGE test showed that SMF can enhance the ability of cisplatin or adriamycin to promote cell DNA damage. Atomic force microscope observation found that the combination of antitumor drugs and magnetic field treatment induced larger and deeper holes on the cell membrane, and surface structure damage is serious. The combination of antitumor drugs and magnetic field technology effectively inhibits the growth of tumor cells, and reduces drug doses. The results implicate this method as potential cancer therapy.

Objective To analyze the clinicopathologic characteristics and treatment of primary and secondary bladder mucosa lymphoma. Methods From June 1996 to September 2011,8 cases of bladder mucosa lymphoma patients including primary bladder mucosa lymphoma patients (2 males and 3 females)and secondary bladder mucosa lymphoma patients ( 1 male and 2 females) were treated in our institute. The patient's mean age was 68 years (ranged from 57 to 78 years),and the other 3 secondary bladder mucosa lymphoma patient's mean age was 61 years (ranged from 41 to 81 years).7 of 8 patients accepted transurethral resection of bladder tumor combined with CHOP chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and 1 patient abandoned treatment.CHOP chemotherapy and radiotherapy were performed at 2 weeks post-operatively.Secondary bladder mucosa lymphoma patients accepted 3-dimensional conformal 6000 cGy radiotherapy.Urinary CT examination showed that there were round or oval irregular tumors in the wall of urinary bladder, whose diameters were 1 to 4 cm.Tumor edges were glossy and tumor density were uniform. In addition, the bladder wall with tumor was uneven. In contrasted CT,the tumors appeared obviously enhanced.7 cases had cauliflower-like tumors found by cystoscope, and there were necrosis-calcification area in the center of tumors.1case appeared multiple tumors, which consisted of one big tumor and three smaller ones. Results There were 5 cases of primary bladder mucosa lymphoma, including 3 bladder mucosa associated lymphoma (MAL) cases and 2 diffuse large B cell lymphoma cases. There were 3 secondary bladder mucosa lymphoma cases including 2 diffuse large B cell lymphoma cases and 1 generalized follicular cystic central lymphoma case, which belongs to the tuberous sclerosis Hodgkin lymphoma.Immunohistochemical analysis showed that CD20,CD21,CD43 staining were positive in low grade MAL (3 cases).However,CD3,CD20,CD31 staining were positivein high grade MAL (5 cases). All patients were followed up 3 to 44 months.3 cases of secondary malignant lymphoma patients died after diagnosed after 3 to 13 months.5 cases of primary malignant lymphoma patients were all survived. 1 case recurred 14 months after surgery and accepted TURBT and CHOP chemotherapy again.Pathologic diagnosis showed the transformation from peripheral zone of bladder mucosa associated lymphoma to diffuse large B cell lymphoma. The patient was free of recurrence. Conclusions MAL and diffuse large B cell lymphoma are the most common type of bladder mucosa lymphoma.Primary and secondary diffuse large B cell lymphoma have similarities in histological analysis, but the former prognosis is better than the latter's. Transurethral resection of bladder tumor combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy can prevent the relapse of MAL in short term and long term with good tolerance, and can be used as ideal treatment of MALT.
