AIM:To determine terpenelactonesines content in Yinxing Tongzhi Dripping Pills(ginkgoflavone,ginkgolide).METHODS:HPIC with evaporative light scattering detector(ELSD) was established to determine terpenelactones content in Yinxing Tongzhi Dripping Pills..The analysis was carried out on Angilent Hypersil ODS(5 ?m,4 mm?250 mm) column.The mobile phase consisted of THF-MeOH-H_2O(10:20:70).The operating conditions of the ELSD were a nebulizer nitrogen,flow-rate of 2.51 L/min and an evaporator tube temperature of 103(?C).RESULTS:No interference was found in the terpenelactones peak position.The method was simple,with a good linear relationship.The relative standard deviation of reproducibility about BB、GA、GB、GC was 1.33%,(1.79%,)1.92%,1.58% respectively and the average recoveries were 97.0%,96.5%,96.3%,97.6%,respectively.CONCLUSION:The method can be used for quality control.

Objective:To establish an optimal extraction technology for gastrodine in Tianma Gouteng decoctions. Methods: An orthogonal design with extract yield and gastrodine concentration as the indices was carried out to observe the influence of the extraction time, water amount and extract times on the extraction result. Results:The extract times showed significant influence on the extraction percentage of gastrodine. The best extraction parameters were as follows:adding 12-fold water and decocting 3 times with 1. 5h for each time. Conclusion:The established extraction process is feasible, which can be used in the preparation of the effective part for Tianma Gouteng decoctions with gastrodine concentration as the index.

BACKGROUND: Injectable artificial bone composite has been reported to consider as a moulding filler of vertebrae at the histology level; however, the therapeutic effect needs to be further studied at the level of axial pressure capacity. OBJECTIVE: To explore the axial pressure capacity of dogs with thoracolumbar fractures treated by injectable artificial bone composite. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized controlled animal experiment was performed at the Animal Laboratory of Shenzhen Longgang Central Hospital from September 2008 to January 2009. MATERIALS: Type I and type II vertebral pedicle screw systems were provided by Tianjin Zhengtian Medical Device Company Limited; injectable artificial bone composite, which was made of coral-hydroxylapatite compound, recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (Academy of Military Medical Sciences), and 2% chitosan solution (the Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA and Shanghai Qisheng Biomaterials Institute), was manufactured according to the methods provided by Yin et al. METHODS: A total of 20 1-year-old healthy dogs were randomly divided into treatment and control groups with 10 dogs in each group. The model of those dogs with thoracolumbar fractures was made by imitating falling accidents; thereafter, the dogs in the treatment group were treated with vertebral pedicle screw system internal fixation and vertebroplasty by filling the injured vertebrae with injectable artificial bones. The control group was treated with vertebral pedicle screw system internal fixation alone. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The maximum pressure intensity of injured vertebra, upper and lower vertebra at vertebral body center was detected using micro-computer pressure testing system after three months. RESULTS: The maximum pressure intensity at vertebral body center was not significant differences in the treatment group (100% cases) between injured vertebral body and its neighboring vertebral body, and axial loading was recovered. Methods Hairy root of E. prostrata was obtained from infected cotyledon explants after infection with Agrobacterium rhizogenes strains A4, R1601 and ATCC15834, elite strains were screened and growth curves determined. The transformation of Ri T DNA was examined through high voltage paper electrophoresis. Results The hairy root was originally obtained from E.prostrata. The result of high voltage paper elctrophoresis confirmed the transformation of T DNA from Ri plasmid to the hairy root. Conclusion The acquisition of hairy root of E. prostrata provided further a foundation for the industrial production of active drug component.

Objective: To establish the culture system of hairy root of Isatis indigotica and to induce the regeneration plant of hairy root. Methods: Hairy root of Isatis indigotica was obtained from infected cotyledon explants after infection with Agrobacterium rhizogenes strains A4, R1601 and ATCC15834. The better lines were selected. The growth curve was surveyed and extrinsic factors affecting the growth of hairy roots were investigated. The regeneration plant was induced on MS media with different hormones. The transformation of Ri T DNA was examined through high voltage paper electrophoresis. Results: The hairy root was originally obtained from Isatis indigotica . The regeneration plant was induced on MS media with BA. The result of high voltage paper electrophoresis confirmed the transformation of T DNA from Ri plasmid to the hairy root and regeneration plant. Conclusion: The acquisition of hairy root of Isatis indigotica and regeneration plant of it lay a foundation for the production of active component and introduction of foreign gene. [

Objective To prospectively compare MR pulmonary perfusion imaging with quantitative HRCT for the detection of mild chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and classification of COPD.Methods Sixty-two consecutive patients with COPD and 17 healthy volunteers underwent pulmonary function test (PFT),HRCT and MR perfusion imaging on the same day.According to the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD),all COPD patients were classified into 4 stages:stage Ⅰ (n =19),stage Ⅱ (n =17),stage Ⅲ (n =14),stage Ⅳ (n =12).The signal intensity of perfusion defects (SIPD),signal intensity of normal lung perfusion (SInormal) on 3D MR perfusion were obtained through postprocessing and the signal intensity ratio (RSI) was calculated.The total lung volume (TLV) was calculated automatically on HRCT and the total emphysema volume (TEV) was obtained by applying -950 HU thresholds.The TEV/TLV was deduced as emphysema index (EI).Several comparisons were made between the volunteers and COPD patients by one-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis test.Results The RSI,SIPD,PEI,MSI,MSD values of MRI perfusion in volunteers (43.9 ± 7.2,48.2 ± 19.7,31.4,55.7,44.1) were significantly different from those in patients with COPD (18.1 ± 8.1,47.4 ± 20.0,8.6,30.2,22.7) (P ＜ 0.01).The RSI showed a significant difference between stage Ⅰ (24.4 ± 9.8) and stage Ⅲ (15.9 ± 5.3) or Ⅳ (9.2 ± 2.7) and between stage Ⅱ (19.9 ± 3.1) and stage Ⅳ (t =4.05-6.64,P ＜0.01).However,all MRI perfusion parameters between stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ,stage Ⅱ and stage Ⅲ,stage Ⅲ and stage Ⅳ were no differences (t =2.00-4.46,P ＞ 0.05).The median of EI in volunteers and stage Ⅰ-Ⅳ COPD patients were 1.2,3.8,8.0,13.7,18.3,and the quartile range were 3.7,7.1,9.2,10.5,7.7,respectively.The EI in volunteers showed significant differences with that of stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ COPD and the EI of stage Ⅳ was different from that of stage Ⅱ or Ⅰ (t =-7.32--1.85,P ＜ 0.01),but there was no significant difference between volunteers and stage Ⅰ COPD (t =-1.99,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The RSI of MRI is more sensitive than that of HRCT for assessing mild COPD.The severity of COPD could be reflected by MRI perfusion and HRCT.

A descriptive study to investigate the situation of cross-cultural adaptation and health status among medical international students was carried out using cluster sampling method and self-designed questionnaire in Dalian Medical University.148 international students come from 24 countries.There are 5 religions belief among these students.Islam,Catholic,Hindu,Buddhism and Sikhism.The main obstacles of cross-cultural adaptation are language,accommodation and diet.Economic status and stress of interpersonal relationship are also the main causes affecting the physical and mental health of medical international students.

Objective To discuss the clinical value of improved percutaneous lung biopsy under CT guidance.Methods Reviewed the clinical data of 80 cases of improved percutaneous lung biopsy under CT guidance,which were confirmed by surgery or pathology.When took the operation,18 G semi-automatic cutting biopsy needle (made in American Cook's company) was used to improve the ways of positioning scan,two-step method of insert the needle,and the cutting technique of coaxial in each direction.Results All of the 80 patients were successfully completed pathological biopsy,successful rate was 100.0％ (80/80),and diagnosis rate was 98.8％ (79/80),incidence of complication was 10.0 ％ (8/80),all of these patients were recovered after treatment 2-5 d.Conclusion The method of improved percutaneous lung biopsy under CT guidance is safe,effective,simple and practical,which has high successful rate and low complication rate,the generalizability is certain.

Objective To discuss the relationship between TCM constitutional types and the levels of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) of patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods A total of 161 patients with KOA as a case group filled out questionnaires about 9 TCM constitution types, and 50 cases of unrelated healthy volunteers were selected randomly as control group. The serum samples of two groups were collected. The levels of TGF-β1 were detected and compared by double antibody sandwich ELISA. Results Compared with the control group, the level of TGF-β1 in the case group decreased, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the levels of TGF-β1 significantly decreased in the case group of qi deficiency type, with statistical significance (P<0.05). There were no types of special intrinsic and blood stasis. Compared with the control group, the levels of TGF-β1 in the other six types of patients with KOA had no statistical significance (P>0.05). Conclusion The incidence of KOA with qi deficiency type may be related to the decrease of TGF-β1 level. The decreasing level of TGF-β1 may be one of the mechanisms of molecular biology that qi deficiency was linked to KOA.

Objective To study the relation between alcohol-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head (AIONFH) related with high morbidity TCM constitution type with CYP2C8 gene polymorphisms.Methods Totally 152 Han nationality NONFH cases from Feburary 2014 to September 2015 from outpatient and the inpatient departments in Gansu Province Hospital of TCM were collected. 50 AIONFH cases were set as medical case group; meanwhile, 45 healthy volunteers were enrolled as control group. Database for medical materials of all patients and volunteers was established. TCM distribution for AIONFH patients was determined. Solution DNA extraction kit was used to extract DNA, and detect the concentration and purity of DNA. The target gene was amplified by PCR and the target gene was amplified by gel electrophoresis. The length of the fragment was confirmed to conduct target gene sequencing. With the results of sequencing and gel electrophoresis, the relation of AIONFH with CYP2C8 gene polymorphism in AIONFH patients with phlegm-dampness syndrome and the control group.ResultsThe CYP2C8 gene loci rs17110453 gene polymorphism was not statistically significant between the two groups (χ2=0.253,P>0.05). There was no significant difference in allele between the two groups (χ2=0.077,P>0.05). The risk of disease in CC genotype was 1.37 times higher than the AA genotype (95%CI: 0.339-5.540), without statistical significance (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in genotype and allele distribution between AIONFH patients with phlegm-dampness and non-phlegm-dampness and the control group (P>0.05).Conclusion CYP2C8 gene loci rs17110453 gene polymorphism A/C mutation has no obvious relation with AIONFH risk. There is no clear relationship between CYP2C8 gene loci rs17110453 gene polymorphism with AIONFH.
