Objective: To study the effect of Maitork (a sodium chloride injection containing Ginkgo bioba extract and ligustrazine phosphate) on plasma levels of fibrinogen (Fg), platelet granule membrane protein 140 (GMP-140), tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) after focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats. Methods: Eighty male SD rats were randomly allocated into groups 3-day (n=40) and 7-day (n=40) after operation. Then each group was divided into 4 subgroups: sham-operation, ischemia control, Ginaton and Maitork. The focal cerebral ischemia model was established in rats. The activities of GMP-140 and tPA were measured by chromogenic substrate assay, and the level of Fg was measured by gel plaque assay. Results: The level of Fg in the Ginaton group was significantly higher than that in the ischemia control group, and the 7-day group was also significantly higher than that in the Maitork group (P

TLR4-MD-2 complex plays a key role in LPS recognition and its signal transduction. These steps are the vital elements of the host's defensive reaction. Studying the functional domain of TLR4 and MD-2 is very important to further understand the mechanism of LPS signal transduction. It was studied the interaction domain of TLR4 and MD-2 in living cells based on gene mutation, gene transfection and fluorescence resonance energy tramsfer(FRET) which is considered as one of the best methods used for intracellular protein-protein interaction study. CY-15P which was fused by CFP and YFP through 15 neutral amino acids was used as positive control, while co-expressed CFP and YFP proteins were used as negative control. The results showed that the ability of TLR4 binding to MD-2 decreased dramatically after the deletion of Glu~(24) ~ Met~(41) in N terminal of TLR4. Aggregation of TLR4 to LPS stimulation was observed, however, TLR4 without the Glu~(24)~ Met~(41) mutation did not aggregate. All these results indicated that TLR4 Glu~(24)~ Met~(41) might be the interaction domain of TLR4 binding to MD-2 and participate in the aggregation effect of TLR4 upon LPS stimulation.

Objective To explore the diagnosis and surgical treatment of pulmonary sequestration in adults. Methods Clinical data of 21 cases of pulmonary sequestration whose diagnosis was confirmed by surgical biopsy in our department from March 2009 to February 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Divided the patients into the thoracotomy group (n=9) and the thoracoscope group (n=12) according to dif-ferent surgical methods, and compared the diagnosis and surgery of the two groups. Results Among the patients, 8 cases were diagnosed as pulmonary sequestration and the remaining 13 cases were misdiagnosed, with the misdiagnosis rate of 61. 9%. Intraoperative exploration dem-onstrated that the abnormal blood vessels were originated from thoracic aorta (n=14,66. 7%),abdominal aorta (n=4,19%),phrenic artery (n=3,14. 3%) and aortic arch (n=1,4. 8%), and there were 20 cases (95. 2%) of intralobar sequestration and 1 case (4. 8%) of ex-tralobar sequestration. Patients underwent thoracotomy and patients underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery were of no significant differences in operative time (P=0. 104),blood loss (P=0. 209),chest tube duration (P=0. 511),drainage volume (P=0. 135) and postoperative hospital stay (P=0. 450). All the patients recovered well after surgery. Conclusion As pulmonary sequestration lacks specific clinical manifestations, missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis are very common in patients. Chest enhanced CT and CT angiography are effective diagnostic methods at present. Both thoracotomy and VATS can achieve good therapeutic effects.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and quality of life of segmental bowel resection for bowel endometriosis. Methods Totally 62 symptomatic patients with bowel endometriosis undergoing segmental bowel resection were recruited. A visual analogue scale (VAS) and the 36-item short form health survey (SF-36) questionnaire were administered before and at least 1 year after surgery, respectively. Pregnancy rates were also recorded. Results Sixty-two patients in total underwent follow-up ranging from 12 to 74 months. All patients complained of obvious pain symptoms, including dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, pain on defecation and chronic pelvic pain. The relief of dysmenorrhea (2.9 ± 2.2 versus 7.5 ± 2.9), dyspareunia (0.7 ± 0.5 versus 4.3 ± 2.2) and pain on defecation (1.6 ± 0.7 versus 7.3 ± 1.9) after surgery was statistically significant (all P<0.01). The scores for all 8 domains of the SF-36 questionnaire were significant improved after segmental bowel resection (all P<0.01). The complication rate was 45% (28/62), including 18 cases of urinary retention, 4 rectovaginal fistulas, 2 cases of vaginal dehiscence, and 1 case each of thrombogenesis, pelvic abscess and general peritonitis. All of the patients with complications recovered well throughout follow-up. The postoperative pregnancy rate of the previous infertile patients was 6/10. Among the 6 gestational cases, 2 had labour, 2 underwent caesarean sections, one had a spontaneous natural abortion, and one underwent uterine curettage. Conclusion Segmental bowel resection could significantly relieve pain and improve quality of life for patients with bowel endometriosis.

This article was aimed to study medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the treatment of gastric cancer. The history information of 111 hospitalized cases from 2008 to 2011 was collected from the Department of Oncology of Guang'anmen Hospital with the clinical collection system. The medication rules in the treatment of gastric cancer by TCM were explored by the scale-free network analysis from several aspects, such as effects, classifications and compatibility relations of Chinese medicine. The analysis result of 111 gastric cancer cases showed that strengthening the body resistance was the main treatment principle. Liujunzi decoction was the most frequently used prescription. In TCM compatibility, deficiency-nourishing herbs were the main ingredients, especiallyqi-supplementing herbs which take the first place in the prescription. And the heat-reducing herbs, dampness-eliminating herbs, blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herbs, food stagnation resolving herbs and qi regulation herbs were also used in the combination. Core herbs in the prescription for the treatment of gastric cancer were Tuckahoe, Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus root, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Fructus Aurantii, Nidus Vespae and etc. TCM treatment, syndrome differentiation and medication are varied according to different therapeutic stages and disease stages. The result showed that scale-free network analysis had certain significance in the understanding of medication rules of TCM treatment of gastric cancer.

OBJECTIVETo study the residue of in roots of Atractylodes macrocephalal and in soil.
METHODSamples were extracted with methanol. The extracts were cleaned up by liquid-liquid extraction and detected by HPLC.
RESULTRepeatability and accuracy of the method was verified by fortified recovery at 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 mg x kg(-1) levels. Average recovery were 86.1%-98.3% and RSD were 1.0%-6.5% in root and soil. A. macrocephala was treated with two dosage of carbendazim during growing. Results of field test showed that the half lives of carbendazim were 6.51-7.98 d in cultivated soil, 4.51-6.50 d in roots, separately. After sample was preliminarily processed, the residue of dried samples was 0.042-0.433 mg x kg(-1), higher than the fresh samples.
CONCLUSIONIf 0.2 mg x kg(-1) is recommended as the MRL (maximum residues limited) of carbendazim in the roots of A. macrocephala, it is suggested that the dose of 0.675 kg a.i. x hm(-1) carbendazim is sprayed twice a year, and carbendazim should not be used within 21 days before the harvest.
