1.The Design and Manufacture of Self-tapping Titanium Alloy Orthodontic Anchorage
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2016;40(3):183-185,201
Objective To devise an orthodontic anchorage nail which can tap in the target tooth by itself with bio-mechanical function. Methods Al kinds of functions and structures of the supporting pin were designed and tested to meet its multiple traction and ligation. Results The self-tapping anchorage nail can be directly implanted in the tooth bed bones without using minimal y invasive surgery. Conclusion The anchorage nail has good biological compatibility and anchorage stability. It can pul after tapping retention, which shortens effectively the orthodontic term.

BACKGROUNDThe prevalence of lung cancer in the elder increases gradually recently, and lung cancer has become the main cause of cancer-related death. The aim of this study is to analyse the operative indication, complication, perioperative management and surgical measures, results and specificity for lung cancer in the elderly patients.
METHODSOne hundred and thirty-seven elderly patients with lung can-cer, aged from 70 to 83 years old with mean age of 74 were analysed. Of the 137 cases, 13 patients were in the stage I, 76 in stage II, 48 in stage III. Surgical procedures included pneumonectomy for 4 patients, lobectomy for 122 patients, segmentectomy and wedge resection for 7 patients, sleeve lobectomy for 19 patients, bronchoplastic procedure and pulmonary artery reconstruction for 2 patients. Video-assisted thoracic surgery was performed in 13 cases for segmentectomy and wedge excision
RESULTSThere was no operative death. The resection rate was 97.1%, and postoperative complication rate was 29.9%. The follow-up rate was 88.3% . The 1-, 2-, 3-year survival rate was 62%, 35%, 28% respectively.
CONCLUSIONSElderly patients with lung cancer can obtain good therapeutic results and prognosis undergoing surgical therapy, but the operative indications will be limited. Exquisite surgical technique and application of respirator after operation may expand the operative indications.

Objective To investigate the influence of sorafenib on the expressions of B7-H3 and B7-H4 proteins in different human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines, including HepG2,Hep3B,BEL-7402,BEL-7404,BEL-7405,QGY-7701,QGY-7703,SMMC-7721,MHCC97H,MHCC97L,HCCLM3 and HCCLM6.Methods Western blotting and MTT assay were used to check the influence of sorafenib on the expressions of B7-H3 and B7-H4 proteins in different human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines and to test the inhibitory effect of sorafenib on different human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines. Results Compared with normal human liver cells (HL-7702),the expressions of B7-H3 and B-H4 proteins in different human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines were significantly up-regulated (P<0.01).The cytotoxic activity IC50 values of sorafenib to Hep3B,BEL-7404,MHCC97H,HCCLM3 and HCCLM6 were 14.56,9.14,9.46,17.21 and 9.29 μmol/L respectively. After treating Hep3B,BEL-7404,MHCC97H,HCCLM3 and HCCLM6 with sorafenib at the doses of 5,10 and 20 μmol/L separately, the expressions of B7-H3 and B7-H4 proteins were strikingly down-regulated when compared with the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion The overexpressions of B7-H3 and B7-H4 proteins in different human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines are a common finding, which can influence tumor immune escape. It may be a new target for prevention and treatment of liver cancer in future.
