AIM: To observe the effects of Egr-1 gene knockout on the expression of inflammatory-related factors in pancreatic tissue in a mouse acute pancreatitis model.METHODS: The experimental pancreatitis was induced by high-dose of cearulein in wildtype mice and Egr-1 knockout mice. The pancreatitis indexes, such as serum amylase, pancreata edema, and myeloperoxidase(MPO) levels in pancreata and lungs were recorded. The mRNA levels of tissue factor(TF),plasminogen activator inhibitor(PAI-1),monocyte chemoattractant protein(MCP-1),Gro-1,IL-6 and ICAM-1 were measured by quantitative PCR.RESULTS: Contrary to wildtype mice, typical pancreatitis was not induced by high-dose cearulein in the Egr-1 knockout mice, not only markedly reduced edema in pancreata and lungs, but decreased MPO levels in lungs as well were found.Furthermore, the mRNA of TF,PAI,MCAP,ICAM-1 and IL-6 in pancreata were significantly decreased in Egr-1 knockout mice.CONCLUSION: The severity of pancreatitis and lung damage is ameliorated in Egr-1 knockout mice stimulated by high-dosage of cearulein, which was probably mediated by decreasing expression of inflammatory-related factors in pancreata, such as TF,PAI,MCP-1,ICAM-1 and IL-6.

Objective:To evaluate the patch technique in repairing huge rotator cuff tear. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted of the 9 patients with huge rotator cuff tear who had been repaired with patch technique at Department of Orthopaedics, Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital from March 2017 to March 2019. They were 5 males and 4 females, aged from 53 to 79 years (average, 61 years). Shoulder movement limitation was found in 7 cases, night pain in 5, and positive Neer impingement sign and Hawkins sign in 7. By the Bigliani acromion classification, there were 6 cases of type Ⅱ and 3 cases of type Ⅲ. Comparisons were made between preoperation, 12 and 15 months postoperation in terms of scores of the visual analogue scale(VAS) and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) scoring system, and shoulder range of motion. Results:All the 9 patients were followed up for 15 to 24 months(mean, 18 months). Arthroscopy found tears in more than 2 tendons in all of them. The VAS scores were 6.7±1.6, 4.5±1.3 and 3.7±1.1 at preoperation, 12 and 15 months postoperation; the UCLA scores were 7.9±1.2, 21.5±4.1 and 23.9±4.3 at preoperation, 12 and 15 months postoperation. There were statistically significant differences in both the VAS and UCLA scores between preoperation, 12 and 15 months postoperation ( P<0.05). There were also statistically significant differences between the 3 groups in the shoulder range of motion at preoperation, 12 and 15 months ( P<0.05). MRI reexamination at 12 months postoperation showed minor re-tear < 3 cm in 2 patients. Conclusion:The patch technique is a reasonable and effective treatment to repair huge rotator cuff tears, resulting in good mid-term outcomes.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore the risk factors of anxiety and depression in patients with suspected coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) so as to achieve early intervention and better clinical prognosis.
METHODS:
Seventy-six patients with suspected COVID-19 in fever isolation wards of Second Hospital of Lanzhou University were enrolled From January 31, 2020 to February 22, 2020. Their clinical baseline data were collected. The anxiety of patients was assessed by Hamilton Anxiety Scale, and the depression of patients was assessed by Hamilton Depression Scale. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the risk factors of anxiety and depression in these patients.
RESULTS:
Female patients are more likely to have anxiety (=3.206, 95%: 1.073-9.583, <0.05) and depression (=9.111, 95%: 2.143-38.729, <0.01) than male patients; patients with known contact history of epidemic area and personnel in epidemic area are more likely to have depression (=3.267, 95%: 1.082-9.597, <0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
During the isolation treatment of suspected COVID-19 patients, early psychological intervention should be carried out for the female patients with known contact history of epidemic area and personnel in epidemic area, and drug treatment should be given in advance if necessary.

Recent advancement in natural language processing (NLP) and medical imaging empowers the wide applicability of deep learning models. These developments have increased not only data understanding, but also knowledge of state-of-the-art architectures and their real-world potentials. Medical imaging researchers have recognized the limitations of only targeting images, as well as the importance of integrating multimodal inputs into medical image analysis. The lack of comprehensive surveys of the current literature, however, impedes the progress of this domain. Existing research perspectives, as well as the architectures, tasks, datasets, and performance measures examined in the present literature, are reviewed in this work, and we also provide a brief description of possible future directions in the field, aiming to provide researchers and healthcare professionals with a detailed summary of existing academic research and to provide rational insights to facilitate future research.
