Ion beam enhanced deposition (IBED) has been applied to prepare titanium oxide layer on titanium alloy (Ti6A14V) in order to improve its biocompatibility. The layer on titanium alloy is even, and the elements Al and V in substrate are not detected. The layer is composed of TiO containing nitrogen oriented along (111) plane. The critical load of the layer in scratch test is 16.8 N. Morphological observation reveals the layer ends in a failure caused by plastic deformation.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of block calculus extraction catheter in the ureteroscopic lasertripsy. Methods Two hundred and thirty patients with ureter calculus were enrolled. Ninety-six patients were treated with block calculus extraction catheter (test group), and 134 patients were treated without block calculus extraction catheter (control group). The patients in 2 groups were treated with holmium laser ureteroscopic lithotripsy of Lumenis PowerSuite60W, and the treatment effectiveness was compared. Results The operation time and primary stone clearance rate in test group were significantly better than those in control group: (23.3 ± 7.4) min vs. (35.6 ± 11.1) min, 98.92%(92/93) vs. 88.89%(112/126), and there were significantly differences (P<0.01). The bleeding amounts and fever rate of 2 groups had no significant difference (P > 0.05). Conclusions The block calculus extraction catheter is very useful and safe in preventing the calculus shift, shortening the operation time and improving the calculus elimination rate .

Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2017;16(4):363-367
With the development of imaging technology, the detection rate of gallbladder benign lesions has increased year by year. And part of the diseases may evolve into gallbladder cancer through a series of pathophysiologic processes. There are some misunderstandings in the understanding of gallbladder benign lesions for surgeons,so it is difficult for the clinical decision-making.The relationship between gallbladder benign lesions and gallbladder cancer should be correctly understood.Surgeons can neither exaggerate the risk of gallbladder cancer nor miss optimal timing of operation. The key point of the diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder benign lesions should be based on making full use of imaging data and strictly grasp pre-and intraoperative indications, and it is important to identify the malignant transformation of gallbladder benign lesions as soon as possible and carry out standardized treatment.

This study was aimed to observe if the lipid profiles, apoprotein B100 (ApoB100), ApoAI, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and its subclasses could be improved by controlling the blood glucose. Fifty-three patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic were divided into four groups, diet and exercise group (n = 13), continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) group (n = 14), multiple daily insulin injection group (MDI, n = 13), and oral hypoglycaemic agents group (n = 13). Fasting blood glucose (FPG), glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), lipid profiles, ApoB100, ApoAI and HDL subclasses were measured at beginning and a month later. Forty-three patients finished the testing. The levels of FPG, HbA1c, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and ApoB100 were decreased significantly (P < 0.05) in all groups, and ApoAI/ApoB100 increased obviously (P < 0.05). Comparatively matured HDL subclasses such as HDL2b were increased (P < 0.05), and comparatively infantile HDL subclasses such as HDL3b were decreased (P < 0.05). Therapy with hyperglycemic agents improved TG, TC, LDL-C, ApoB100, ApoAI/ApoB100, and HDL2b significantly (P < 0.05), but intervention with the diet and exercise group alone did not improve lipid profiles, apolipoproteins, and HDL subclasses (P > 0.05). Meanwhile, therapy with insulin intensive therapy (MDI, CSII) group had the most powerful effect on decreasing ApoB100 concentration (P < 0.05). The results suggested that lipid profiles, apolipoproteins, and quantity and quality of HDL subclasses might be improved by blood glucose controlling.

7.Vitamin A level and diseases of premature infants.
Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2016;18(2):177-182
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, and it is not only necessary for the normal growth and development of epithelial cells, but also plays a very important role in the normal growth and development of the retina, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, brain, and immune system. Studies have confirmed that the low level of vitamin A in premature infants at birth can last through the entire infancy. Recently, there have been particular concerns about the level of vitamin A and development of diseases in premature infants, with major focuses on the related mechanisms of action of vitamin A in respiratory distress syndrome, chronic lung disease, retinopathy of prematurity, necrotizing enterocolitis, patent ductus arteriosus, and infections in premature infants, which still awaits further investigation. This paper summarizes and analyzes the current status of research on vitamin A level and diseases of premature infants at home and abroad. In addition, although enough evidence suggests that vitamin A supplementation is beneficial to preterm infants, evidence is still lacking for recommended methods for supplementation and dose of vitamin A, and further studies are needed.

The effects of beta-cypermethrin (consisting of alpha-cypermethrin and theta-cypermethrin) on the transient outward potassium current (I(A)) and delayed rectifier potassium current (I(K)) in freshly dissociated hippocampal CA3 neurons of rats were studied using whole-cell patch-clamp technique. The results indicated that alpha-cypermethrin increased the value of I(A) and theta-cypermethrin decreased the value of I(A), though both of them shifted steady activation curve of I(A) towards negative potential. theta-cypermethrin contributed to the inactivation of I(A). The results also showed that alpha-cypermethrin and theta-cypermethrin decreased the value of I(K), and shifted the steady state activation curve of I(K) towards negative potential. Both alpha-cypermethrin and theta-cypermethrin had no obvious effects on the inactivation of I(K). theta-cypermethrin prolonged recovery process of I(K). These results imply that both transient outward potassium channels and delayed rectified potassium channels are the targets of beta-cypermethrin, which may explain the mechanism of toxical effects of beta-cypermethrin on mammalian neurons.
