1.Progress in structure and CO2-concentrating mechanism of carboxysomes.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2014;30(8):1164-1171
Carboxysomes are extremely efficient microcompartments committed to CO2 fixation due to tailored CO2-concentrating mechanism (CCM). In cyanobacteria and some chemoautotrophs, carboxysomes as organelle-like microbodies encapsulate ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RuBisCO) and carbonic anhydrase (CA). Together with active inorganic carbon uptake transporters, carboxysomes accumulate HCO3(-) in the cytoplasm, leading to high efficiency of carbon fixation. Based on the elucidation of structures and functionalities, heterologous production of carboxysomes has been achieved so far. In fact, the genes encoding either vacant carboxysome shell or only interior components have been characterized. This review summarizes the discovery along with types, showcases molecular structures and roles of carboxysomes in CCM, and presents their broad applications in metabolic engineering.

3.A clinical observation of heart rate turbulence of diabetes
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2009;17(12):933-934
Objective To discuss the significance and alteration of heart rate turbulence (HRT) of diabetics with ventricular premature beats of coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods 107 patients were chosen and divided into DM group(n=30), CHD group (n=32)and normal group(n=45).The turbulence onset(TO)and turbulence slope(TS) were calculated and analyzed. Results For the diabetics with ventricular premature beats, TO value was higher and TS value was lower than the normal group(all P<0.05).The value of TO and TS of the diabetics with ventricular premature beats were similar to those of CHD(P>0.05). Conclusions HRT can be used to estimate the integrality and stability of cardiac autonomic nerve function for the diabetics and it is an important factor for diagnosis.
4.Establishing a tibia-femoral joint finite element model according to MRI image
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(39):7623-7626
Images corresponded to the right knee of a 27 years old, healthy, male volunteer, weighing 68 Kg, 175 cm height, with no knee joint disease, were selected. The scanning was performed using 1.5T Twinspeed/Excite magnetic resonance tomography. The image was uninterrupted sagittal planes picture, and the scanning way was from the inside to out. The three-dimensional tibia-femoral joint model was established by the MR1 images after they were handled by correlation analysis software (Mimics10.0, Geomagic Studio 8.0). At last, transformed the model format STL file to IGS file, which can be acceptable by analysis software 11.0. On the base of this way, a highly simulation tibia-femoral model was established. It provides a guarantee for the further finite element analysis concerning checking the surface of femoral condyle cartilage to repair interphalangeal joint injuries. The result demonstrated that 3-D computer model established by using 2-D MRI pictures makes up the CT scanning deficiencies on soft tissue, which confirms the model closer to the real anatomical structure.
5.CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds for non-small cell lung cancer
Journal of Interventional Radiology 2009;18(9):704-707
Objective To discuss the technique, therapeutic effect and complications of CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds for the treatment of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Methods With the help of treatment planning system, CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds was performed in 21 patients with pathologically-proved NSCLC. Multi-plane implanting technique was adopted and ~(125)I seeds of (0.5 -0.8) mCi were placed at intervals of (1.0-1.5) cm. Checkup CT scan was carried out immediately after the procedure to make sure that the seeds were satisfactorily distributed. Follow-up CT scanning was made (2-6) months after the treatment to survey the distribution of the seeds within the tumor. The curative effect and complications were also evaluated and observed. The patients were followed for 12 months. Results Of 21 cases, complete remission was seen in 7, obvious remission in 12 and partial remission in 2. The one year survival rate was 90.5% (19/21). Complications included pneumothorax (n = 6) and hemoptysis (n = 2). No serious complications or treatment-related radiation injuries occurred. Conclusion CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds is a safe and effective treatment for NSCLC with reliable short-term therapeutic effect.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1993;0(06):-
In order to improve the scientificity and rationality of materiel management,we developed the materiel management system and realized the computerizing of material management. This system can solve all problems in material computerizing which occur during the process from the material application to its abandonment. Aiming at solving disadvantages in human management, the utilization of this system will greatly reduce the staff's work load, enhance the working efficiency and make the material management standardized.
7.Interventional Therapy for Deep Venous Thrombosis in the Lower Limbs
Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of interventional therapy for deep venous thrombosis(DVT) in the lower limbs. Methods A total of 38 patients with DVT were treated by intravenous thrombolysis;12 of them received percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty and intravascular stenting after the thrombolysis.According the evaluation criteria of our hospital, the outcomes of the patients were classified as cure(angiography showed complete lysis of the thrombus and smooth venous wall),markedly improved(the deep vein was patent with intravascular mural thrombi, the inner radius was reduced by less than 1/3),improved(angiography showed residual thrombi in the deep vein, and the inner radius was reduced by more than 1/3),and failure(the vein was still obstructed). Results After the treatments, cure was achieved in 22 patients, markedly improved in 14,and improved in 2.No severe complications occurred during the operations.Thirty-four of the patients were followed up for 3-24 months(3-6 months in 7 cases,7-12 months in 12,and 13-24 months in 15).Two patients had recurrence during the follow-up and were cured by intravenous thrombolysis. Conclusion Interventional therapy is continent, effective, and safe for DVT.
8.Recognition and Interaction of Innate Immune Receptors
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(02):-
NKR and TLR are most important receptor superfamilies in innate immunity and act as first line of host defense against infection. Those receptors exert peculiar recognition mechanisms to sense danger signals and distinguish infectious nonself from noninfectious self. More importantly, they coordinate and regulate each other and therefore play major roles in initiation of innate immunity and also help to direct adaptive immune responses. The importance of recognition and interaction of those receptors are highlighted. The precise mechanisms can be harnessed to aid the rational design of therapy against infection, inflammation, cancer or autoimmune diseases.
9.High risk factors for BK virus viremia in recipients following kidney transplantation
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(31):-
BACKGROUND: One major reason for transplanted kidney failure is BK virus (BKV) associated nephropathy, which leads to renal inadequacy and ureteral obstruction. OBJECTIVE: To identify the incidence of BKV viremia in kidney transplant recipients, as well as to analyze the risk factors of BKV infection. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A retrospective case analysis was performed at the Department of Urology, Affiliated Beijing Friendship Hospital of Capital Medical University from September 2001 to December 2007. PARTICIPANTS: One hundred and twenty-one renal transplant patients, and 20 renal failure patients, who underwent hemodialysis were served as control group. METHODS: The viral load in plasma was quantified with a real-time PCR method. The recipients were divided into the PV+ group (BKV DNA positive blood samples) and PV- group (BKV DNA negative in blood samples) according to the detection outcomes. The gender, age, cold ischemia time, immunosuppressive agent, donor type and other clinical parameters were compared between 2 groups. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Logistic regression was performed to determine risk factors for BKV infection. RESULTS: The incidence rate of BKV viremia accounted for 24.7% (30/121) of kidney recipients, which was higher than the control group (1/20), the difference between them was significant (P = 0.03). Logistic regression found that cold ischemia time (RR 3.34, 95% CI 2.76-5.60) and cadaver donation (RR 2.19, 95% CI 1.32-3.97) were significantly related to BKV viremia. However, ages of recipients, time of collecting samples, and intravenous glucocorticoid therapy was independence to BKV viremia. CONCLUSION: Kidney recipients are the high risk population who are susceptive to BKV infection. Cold ischemia time and cadaver donation may be the risk factors of BKV viremia.
