1.Study progresses in respiratory mucosal immunity and related diseases
Chinese Journal of Immunology 2015;(3):289-294
As the passage of environmental atmosphere entering the body, the respiratory tract suffers persistent challenge from foreign substances. The mucosal immune system of the respiratory tract is the main defense line against the invasion of pathogens, which needs to distinguish not only beneficial and detrimental materials but also resident and pathogenic bacteria.Because the knowledge about respiratory mucosal immunity is limited, the immunopathologic mechanisms of related diseases such as asthma, acute lung injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and respiratory infection need investigation. The study about the immune features of the respiratory tract not only contributes to the prevention and treatment of respiratory disease but also provides ideas for the development and design of new vaccines and medicines.

Objective To observe the influences of combined general and epidural anesthesia on hemodynamics. Methods Twenty one patients were randomly divided into two groups, general anesthesia (GA group, n=11) and combined general and epidural anesthesia (GA+EA group, n=10). With Swan Ganz technique, hemodynamic parameters were measured 5min following 0.6 and 1.0 MAC enflurane inhalation in GA group, and 5min following 0.6 MAC enflurane inhalation and 10min after combined epidural lidocaine in GA+EA group. Results Compared with the baselines, in both groups with 0.6 MAC enflurane inhalation, MAP decreased significantly (P0.05); in GA group with 1.0 MAC enflurane inhalation, MAP, HR, SVR, SI and CI decreased significantly (P0.05). As compared with those following 0.6 MAC enflurane inhalation, only in GA+EA group MAP and SVR decreased, and SI rose obviously (P

In response to problems from the development of multi-drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria,it is urgent to find new antimicrobials.Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs) are a kind of ideal new antimicrobials with the advantages including their potential for broad-spectrum activity, rapid bactericidal activity and low propensity for resistance development, and have a bright future.Alpha-helical antimicrobial peptides are a main kind of AMPs.The following features was reviewed and elucidated including the structure and activity relationship(SAR) from different aspects including the degree of helicity, hydrophobic moment, hydrophobicity, net positive charges and so on,and the application of SAR on the molecular design and improvement of AMPs.

With the development of technology, the new technologies contact with the medical profession increasingly close. Mobible nursing information system (MNIS) is a new technology product of the combination of the nursing profession, which will digitize the introduction of paperless care industry, providing convenient for clinical work, real-time technical service is an important tool for clinical work. The application of MNIS have played an important role in confined the nursing profession, disease management and pharmaceutical management, more users discover problem from different professional perspective, thus the MNIS should be improved for all-round care. This article is consist of the domestic and care information systems development, application and effect, as well as its application in the clinical factors of its research progress in clinical application were reviewed to provide a basis for the development of leadership and decision-making about MNIS, and thus, enhance the mobile application of the effectiveness of care information systems and promoting their improvement.

Objective To explore the effect and mechanism of Kruppel-associated box(KRAB) type zinc-finger protein Apak on the transcription of ribosomal RNA(rRNA) under hypoxic conditions. Methods Real-time quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR) was used to detect the level of rRNA and the effect of Apak on the transcription of rRNA.The expression and phosphorylation level of proteins were examined by Western blotting.Immunofluorescence assay was used to observe the location of Apak. Results Under hypoxia (0.3%O2),the transcription level of rRNA increased first and then decreased in Apak wild type cells. In Apak knock-out cells, the transcription level of rRNA kept decreasing under hypoxic conditions. The repression of Apak on rRNA synthesis and the nucleolus location of Apak disappeared, and the expression and phosphorylation level of Apak were down-regulated under hypoxic conditions for 3 h.Conclusion Under hypoxic conditions, the disapperance of Apak repression on rRNA transcription could lead to a temporary increase in rRNA.

Objective To explore the clinical significance of detecting hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) children's cardiac enzymes and neuron-specific enolase (NSE).Methods One hundred and fiftytwo HFMD children were selected as observation group, and 56 cases of healthy children were selected as control group.Cardiac enzymes and NSE levels were compared between two groups. Results The levels of aspartic transaminase(AST),creatine kinase(CK),creatine kinase isozyme-MB(CK-MB),lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),alpha-hydroxybutyric dehydrogenase (α-HBDH),and NSE in observation group were (40.4 ± 14.8)U/L,(109.9 ± 87.5) U/L,(47.0 ± 29.4) U/L,(316.9 ± 119.2) U/L,(256.2 ± 96.1) U/L,(30.9 ± 18.2) μ g/L,and in control group were (24.5 ± 9.2) U/L,(77.4 ± 32.5) U/L,(15.4 ± 7.4) U/L,(134.0 ± 34.4) U/L,(131.1 ± 37.7)U/L,(9.8 ± 4.6) μ g/L.The differences between two groups were statistical significance(P < 0.01).Conclusion The heart and nervous system lesions of HFMD children can be found through detecting cardiac enzymes and NSE early, which provide evidence for early diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To study the distribution of intestinal autofluorescent microorganisms in the rat intestine at different developmental stages. Methods The distribution of intestinal autofluorescent microorganisms in rat intestine at va-rious developmental stages was tested and evaluated using a small animals living imaging system. First, standard E. coli strain was tested by fluorescence detection in vitro. Then, the distribution of E. coli under the same test conditions was tested. The intestinal autofluorescent bacteria distribution was detected in the SD rats at 3 days,14 days and 60 days of age. After expanding the range of excitation wavelength fluorescence detection, removing the background of fluorescence feed and feces and other foreign autofluorescent substances. Results E. coli can be excited in the range of 485 -535 nm wave?length and to emit fluorescence. E. coli mainly existed in the stomach and only a few E. coli were found in the ileum of 3?days old SD rat. . In the 14?days old rats, E. coli mainly existed in the stomach and cecum, and only a few E. coli were found in the ileum. In the 60-days old SD rats, E. coli mainly existed in the ileum, and only a few E. coli were found in the colon, cecum and jejunum. After the expansion of the excitation light wavelength range of fluorescence detection, E. co?li were observed mainly in the ileum, and only a few E. coli were found in the stomach in 3?days old SD rat. E. coli mainly existed in the stomach, then the cecum and only a few E. coli were found in the ileum and jejunum in 14-days old SD rats. E. coli could be found in the whole intestinal system but mainly in the ileum and cecumin of the 60-days old rats. Conclu?sions Examining the intestinal autofluorescent microbes with the small animal in vivo imaging system can be helpful and make guidance to study the distribution of intestinal microbes in the host at different developmental stages, and to provide a basis for studying the relationship of intestinal microbes with its host and the gastrointestinal drug administration.

Objective To study the relationship between pedometer-based daily physical activity and obesity measurements in adult male leaders living in countryside. Methods A total of 136 men who received routine health screening were measured for body weight, body mass index (BMI),waist circumstance, and total body fat.Daily walking activities were determined by pedometer for 7 days. Results Ⅰ to Ⅱ grade walking activities was found in 58% participants.Daily physical activities were negatively correlated with body weight, waist circumference,BMI and total body fat.Body weight, waist circumference,BMI and total body fat were almost normal when walking activities increased to Ⅲ grade.Only 7% of the subjects participated in exercises. Conclusion Pedometer-based daily physical activities may be significantly correlated with obesity arameters.Increased walking activities will help to loss weight.
