Buerger’s disease (BD) or thromboangiitis obliterans is a vasculitis that most commonly affects the
small and medium-sized arteries and veins in the extremities.1
It is most frequently seen in the young
men who smoke and is associated with low socioeconomic status. BD is diagnosed on the basis of
the clinical findings; the pathogenesis is not completely be understood.1-4 In this report, we aim to
present the clinical, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and angiographic findings of a 30-year-old
man with ischemic stroke as a rare complication of BD.

6.Primary results of pharmacological study of the Thong Mach extract for treatment of thromboangiitis obliteration
Journal of Medical Research 1998;7(3):7-11
The “Thong Mach extract” - a mixed aqueous extract - is composed of different traditional herbal medicines for treatment of thromboangiitis obliteration of extremities. The pharmacological experiments on mice and rabbits have revealed that “Thong Mach extract” has analgesic and vasodilatetor effect with adrenolytic mechanism. The platelet agglutination is not affected by “Thong Mach extract”.
