1.Effects of Vietnamese green tea extract on lipid metabolism in rabit drinked cholesterol
Journal of Medical Research 2003;21(1):14-21
Green tea extract decreased lipid metabolism disorders on rabbit consuming cholesterol in experiment through the improvement of plasma TG, TC, LDL-C level. This effect depends on the doses of cholesterol and the drinking periods. The dose of 150mg/kg/day gave best effect.

2.Effect of green tea extract on lipid peroxydation and aortic atherosclerosis in cholesterol-fed rabbits
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2003;285(6):50-57
Green tea is one of the most widely consumed beverages in Vietnam. Polyphenol in green tea possess biological effects such as antitumoral, anticarciogenic, anti-inflammatory and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by increasing the plasma antioxidative capacity in human. Lipid peroxidation and oxidative modification of low-density lipoprotein have been implicated in human atherosclersis. Green tea extract with doses of 100 mg, 150 mg/kg body weight/day reduced levels of MDA plasma and injury of aortic atherosclerosis

3.Preliminary study on the effectiveness of International Competitive Bids (ICB) for pharmaceuticals in Vietnam
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;512(5):85-87
Study on 41 pharmaceutical companies in Hanoi city from March 1999 to February 2000. The results: there was an average of 46 pharmaceutical companies of sixteen countries bought the biding documents and about 43% of those companies submitted the bid documents. At each International Competitive Bids, the average of prices of pharmaceutical drugs were correlative with that announced by UNICEF, however, there was still a case of the mean prices of pharmaceutical drugs were higher than that announced by UNICEF. The prices of pharmaceutical drugs were considered lowest, lower than the average of prices of similar products, which were imported into the Vietnam market and announced by UNICEF

4.Studying the changes of leukocyte, erythrocyte and bone-marrow of mice treated by gamma irradiation
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2005;0(2):22-25
Studying the effectiveness of irradiation on bone-marrow, the numbers of leukocyte, erythrocyte, hemoglobin of mice (25 normal mice and 35 mice treated by gamma irradiation with the dose of 600 rad/(100rad/day) (60 Co) showed that: Gamma irradiation reduced total of leucocytes, the number of different leucocytic (lymphocyte, granulocyte, mono and natural killer cells), the ratio of reticulocyte, number of mature erythrocyte and hemoglobin: Total of leucocytes (3,14 ± 1,58 in comparison with 13,45 ± 4,6); monocytes (0,05 ± 0,03 in comparison with 0,26 ± 0,13), lymphocytes (1,66 ± 0,36 in comparison with 6,34 ± 2,84). After gamma irradiation, the number of reticulocyte was 55%, mature erythrocyte was 73% and hemoglobin was 82%

5.Immunosuppressed model for experimental mice by cyclophosphamid
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;296(3):57-60
Study on white mices with age of 6-8 weeks, 18-20g body weight. They were divided into 3 groups: group 1 (control group): 30 mices; group 2: mices were immunesuppressed by 200mg cyclophosphamid per one kilogram of body weight, being checked after 5 days of injection; and 300mg cyclophosphamid per one kilogram (200mg on the first day and 100mg on the fifth day) and it was checked after 10 days of injection (group 3). The results: immunesuppressed model implemented by intraperitonial injection of 200mg per one kilogram of body weight checked after 5 days of injeciton. These parameters were used to assign the immune function

6.The effects of "DYI" on experimental Heterogenous skin graft and mixed lymphocytic culture of human
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;300(7):27-29
Heterogenous transplantation of skin was studied on two strains of mice BALB/C and Swiss. The subjects were divided into various groups :normal group, cyclophosphamid (CP) inhibited group, cyclosporin A (CPA) inhibited group, and the group processed with DY1. The onset of reject phenomenon of the graft and the completed reject of the graft in the groups of mice using CP, CPA and DY1 were more delayed in comparing with the controlled subjects. The cell numbers decreased and the percentage of transformed cells also decreased in all groups using CP, CPA and DY1

7.Study on the solid dispersion system of dihydroartemisinine and application to the galenic form of suppository
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):18-20
The solid dispersion system (SDA) of dihydroartemisinine (DHA) with PEG 400, PEG 1540, PEG 4000, PEG 6000 and Tween 20, cremophor EL, PEG 400 stearate as cocarrier were prepared. the experimental results showed that the release rate of DHA from suppository base was greater than the semi-synthetic triglyceride base and the physico-mixture

8.H.influenzae and S.pneumoniae the major pathogens responsible for acute respiratory infection in children in Ha Noi and their antimicrobial susceptibility.
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2002;12(1):43-49
66 strains of heamophilus influenzae and 50 strains of streptococcus pneumoniae isolated from nasopharyngeal aspirates from 161 patients under 5 years old with ARI at the Viet Nam - Cu Ba Hospital, Ha Noi, during 9/1997 to 9/1998. 13 antibiotics were tested using the disk diffusion method. H.influenzae is still susceptible to cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, quinolones (95-100%). S.pneumoniae is also susceptible to cephalosporins (82-100%).

9.Investigation of expiry date of some pharmaceutical products circulating in the market
Pharmaceutical Journal 1998;272(12):19-21
The objectives of this study were to 1) compare shelf lives of imported versus domestically produced drugs, both as filed with the Drug Administration of Vietnam and as recorded on the drug labels in the market; and 2) review the compliance with expiry dates in 30 selected pharmacies in Hanoi. This retrospective study included 3480 imported and 4519 local drugs in the register files together survey of 1069 local and 1089 imported drugs in private pharmacies in Hanoi. The results showed that 1) frequency of local drugs expiry date in register files was higher than those in real market (97.32% vs. 88.44%, respectively) and 2) the imported drugs on the average have a shelf life twice as long as domestically produced ones. There were still an average of 2.18% of the above mentioned drugs list found in the pharmacies that was out of shelf life. The findings suggest that domestic producers tend to indicate shelf lives that are significantly shorter than those of the foreign manufacturers, and that there may be a need for more close supervision of the regulations concerning shelf life of pharmaceutical products at the pharmaceutical sector.
