Renal transplantation has been done successfully in Europe and USA since the first years of 1950s. As regard to the countries in which renal transplantation is still undeveloped, it is very necessary out the program of experimental renal transplantation. Through experiment, personals are trained, experienced staff is formed, preparing for human renal transplantation. Since 1992, in Cho Ray hospital, we carried out 56 operations in dogs. Autograff method is used. Kidney are washed and preserved by Vina-Collin fluid or cold Ringer's Lactat at 4oC. Thanks to the improvement of technique, the mortality is reduced from 50% in the beginning of the program to 16% at present.

The study aimed to evaluate the local shaking level and noising level in coal miners of Mong Duong, Khe Cham, Thong Nhat and Mao Khe in 8/2001. The results have shown that the coal miners were affected by shaking of drilling hamper. The shaking level was 1.7 m/s2, higher allowed level. In addition to, they were affected by the noise that was higher than this of allowed level.

A cross sectional study on the stone dust in the working environment in mines of AC, 504 in Binh Dinh province in dry seasons during 1998 and 1999, has shown that the dust contamination level was high. All indicators were above allowed standards. 9/14 of samples had an airway dust level higher 1-9 time than this of allowed standards. 100% of samples had the total dust level higher 4-37 times than this of allowed standards. The silicon levels in the stone mine of Phu Ly (4-5%) and Hoa An (22-23%). This is cause of silicosis among workers of these facilities.

The study was conducted on 295 subjects who underwent forensic examination for psychological problems at The Central Hospital of Psychology. It was found 28 kinds of psychological problems. The criminal form is multiple; tools used mostly are available in daily life, including sharp objects as knife and sword (44%) and blunt objects as stick and brick (20%). Outcomes that produced by psychological patients are serious, mostly leads to death and injury (76.94%). The relationship between victim and criminal is close, in which relatives account for 40.66%, friends and neighborhoods account for 38.36%.

Numerous approaches to the prevention and treatment of cerebral vasospasm have been made. Its etiology and pathogenesis are still not well understood, and there is no animal model that duplicates all of the key aspects of human cerebral vasospasm. It is therefore not surprising that most of the attempts to prevent or treat this condition have failed. Since 1980, there has been some progress toward the satisfactory management of this detrimental condition, but much remains to be done. In the present article, experimental therapies are examined in detail, followed by a review of promising new treatments presently in clinical trials and generally accepted management in reducing the ischemic complications related to cerebral vasospasm.

OBJECTIVETo review the experimental drugs for the treatment of autoimmune myocarditis.

DATA SOURCESThe literatures published in English about different kinds of experimental drugs based on different therapeutic mechanisms for the treatment of autoimmune myocarditis were obtained from PubMed from 2002 to 2013.

STUDY SELECTIONOriginal articles regarding the experimental drugs for treatment of autoimmune myocarditis were selected.

RESULTSThis study summarized the effects of the experimental drugs for the treatment of autoimmune myocarditis, such as immunomodulators and immunosuppressants, antibiotics, Chinese medicinal herbs, cardiovascular diseases treatment drugs, etc. These drugs can significantly attenuate autoimmune myocarditis-induced inflammation and fibrosis, alleviate autoimmune myocarditis-triggered overt lymphocyte proliferation, and meanwhile reduce Th1 cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-2) and increase Th2 cytokines (IL-4 and IL-10).

CONCLUSIONThis study summarized recent advances in autoimmune myocarditis treatment and further proposes that traditional Chinese medicine and immune regulators will play important roles in the future.

PURPOSE: This study was to examine the effect of electrical muscle stimulation therapy on chronic knee pain and depression for the aged. METHOD: Design was one-group pretest-posttest design. Samples were 32 elderly of 60 years old and above with chronic knee pain and depression. Measures were the S-F McGill Pain Questuionnaire for chronic knee pain and the Korean Elderly Depression Scale for depression. Electrical muscle stimulation therapy, experimental treatment, was applied for 12 weeks, 3 times/week, 15 min/time. Data were collected from January 2005 to May 2005. Data were analyzed using SPSS PC+ 12 version. RESULTS: After receiving electrical muscle stimulation therapy, chronic knee pain (t=-88.034, P=.000) and depression (t=-114.659, P=.000) were significantly decreased. CONCLUSION: Electrical muscle stimulation therapy can be a better effective primary nursing intervention on chronic knee pain and depression for community dwelling elders.

With uncertainty and the possibility of serious risks, stem cell based therapies should be introduced to clinical practice only after clinical trials demonstrate their efficacy and safety. The ethical issues related to current stem cell based therapies are examined based upon ethical principles. For the ethical conduct of clinical trials using stem cells, the guidelines for all clinical research should be followed. Because of highly innovative nature of such trials, special attention must be paid to rigorous scientific and ethics review in comparison of currently available treatments, assurance of voluntary informed consent and publication of findings of the clinical trial including negative results and adverse effects. International guidelines and Korean regulations are surveyed for justifiable medical use of unproven stem cell-based interventions. Key features include application of such innovative intervention only to a very small number of seriously ill patients, following a written protocol, approval from an ethics committee, informed consent, safety monitoring, follow-up data collection to evaluate effectiveness and adverse effects and transition to a formal clinical trial in a timely fashion after experiencing a few patients.
