1.The value of CROP index in predicting the result of weaning from mechanical ventilation
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;483(7):74-76
From December 2000 to March 2003, at Huu Nghi Hospital, 85 patients with tracheal intubation were studied. There was no statistically statistic significances between 2 groups (of success and of failure) concerning the age, predicted body mass, the duration of mechanical ventilation. The causes of respiratory deficiencies needing mechanical ventilation were: infections, cerebral infarctus, cerebral hemorrhagy, acute left heart failure, acute myocardiac infarctus, diabetes. CROP diagnostic value of weaning from mechanical vetilation was higher in success group than in failure group. Threshold value of CROP index 13 (ml/breathing rythm/minute) had got a sensitivity of 0.65, specificity 0.89, predicted positive value 0.84, negative 0.74, under curb surface ROC = 0.875.

2.To evaluate the clinical manifestations, endocrine disorders end imaging features of pituitary adenomas
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;517(8):52-55
The clinical manifestations, the endocrine examinations and imaging features (MRI) of 91 patients with pituitary adenomas who had undergone transsphenoidal microsurgery from 1/2001 to 6/2003 were analyzed. The patient population was 49.5% female and 50.5% male. Mean age was 40.4 years.71 patients (78%) experienced decreased visual acuity, 67 patients (73.6) experienced headache. The most frequent tumor type was clinically nonfunctioning adenoma (50%), followed by prolactin-secreting adenoma (34.1%), growth hormone-secreting adenoma (13.2%) and last adrenocorticotropin-secreting adenoma (7.7%). there were 86 macro adenomas (94.5%) and in 13 patients (14.3%) the tumor invaded cavernous sinus. mean height was 33.05 mm, length was 26.58mm and width was 29.71mm. Conclusions: Clinical manifestations of pituitary adenomas are the result of excess hormone secretion (acromegaly, hyperprolactinemia, hypercortisolism...) and to compression of the surrounding structures (headache, visual disturbance and ocular movement palsy). The endocrine examinations are very important for diagnosis and treatment. MRI is the first choice.

3.Investigation on defective children and some measures for intervention in Thua Thien- Hue province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):74-76
An investigation aimed to evaluate the rate of defective children, classify the defects and implement the operations and rehabilitation for 55162 children with ages of 0-15 in Thõa Thiªn HuÕ province during 1998-2001. The results have shown that the rate of defective children was about 4%. Of which 37.3% received operation with good results, and 28.6% received the rehabilitation in the centers, many children returned to normal life. Some of them equipped the tools, and supported the money for early integrating in the community

4.Children with malformation and some interventions at Thua Thien Hue province: a survey
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):85-87
The study was carried out at Thua Thien Hue between 1998 and 2001 and involved 55,162 children between 0 to 15 years old. The children with malformation were examined and identified the malformation by ICD 10. It was found that about 4% of participated children have malformation, in which 37.3% have undergone corrective operation, 28.6% have received rehabilitation in centers or community. Some children have been supported with devices or finance so they can integrate to their community.

5.Operative results of malformation of cerebral arterio-venous fistula
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2001;11(4):34-37
Meningocerebral haemorrhage due to the rupture of malformation of cerebral arterio venous fistula is neurosurgical emegency that requires the radical management to prevent from relapsed haemorrhage. Currently in Vietnam, the operation for malformation removal is an unique technique. The restrespective study on 16 cases suffered the rupture of malformation of cerebral arterio venous fistula in Vietduc during 1999-2000 showed the encourage results. 81.3% of malformations were radically removed, 18.7% of malformation were partial removed and experienced ligation of artery the outcomes: good (81%) and no death

6.The otic media pathology in 170 children with cleft palate in some Northen provinces of Vietnam
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):38-40
In patients with cleft palate, ear disease and hearing loss have long been recognized as common problems. In this report, otitis media with effusion and atelectasis were presented at otoscopy and tympanoplasty in 76.4% of 170 infants and children with cleft palate. This rate changes by age and there is not big different between male and female

7.Linear recurrence of lympho T CD4+ cells quantity from skin reactive effects combined with 2,4 Dinitrochlorobenzen in HIV patients
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;474(3):54-56
In the period of 1999-2003, a double blind trial was performed with 140 patients selected randomly divided into 4 groups, authors predicted TCD4+ count of HIV infected persons from the results of skin test using dinitrochlorofenyne (DNCB). The slope of the regression line was greater significantly than zero, indicated that TCD4+ count decreases as the skin reaction to DNCB decreases (slope = 11.37, 95%Cl = 9.82 to 12.91, p=0.005, Y = 166.06 + 11.37X, r2 = 0.61).

8.Assessment of the susceptibility of culex vishnui to some insecticides in Khanh Trung commune, Khanh Vinh district, Khanh Hoa province
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(6):73-75
This study was carried out on June 2004. Using the paper soaked in chemicals of WHO. Some insecticides, malathion 5% and Organophosphate Control; lambdacyhalothrin 0.05%, alphacypermethrin 30 mg/m2 and Pyrethroid Control. The test was applied by the method of WHO (WHO/CDS/CPC/MAI/98.12). The results showed that: Culex vishnui in Khanh Vinh district had a high resistance to some insecticides such as: malathion, lambdacyhalothrin and alphacypermethrin with the mortality rate of 13% - 17%, 19.7% and 23.7%, respectively

9.Intracerebral artericvenous malformation in association with aneurysm
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;10():29-32
This association had been reported for long time with a frequency of 2.7-23% of cases of intracerebral arteriovenous connection. This association increases the risk of cerebral meningo hemorrhage. 3 cases of cerebral meningo hemorrhage associated with intracerebral arteriovenous connective malformation were studied retrospectively and treated at Viet Duc Hospital from January 1999 to January 2004. The presence of aneurysm in cerebral arteriovenous connection was an important predictive factor for the hemorrhage possibility, leading to cerebral hemorrhage

10.Pain relief effect and the influence of thoracic analgesia on respiratory function after the removal of a part of the lung
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;480(5):64-65
The pain relief effect of thoracic cavity anesthesia in 105 patients of partial removal of lung was evaluated as good and stable. Concerning the respiratory, ventilation volume was improved, the reduce of breathing frequency was improved but on obviously, there was no improvement in oxygene saturation level. Concerning the circulation, the effect was not considerable. The technique was easy with low cost and high safety. It can be use largely for patients with a surgery of partial removal of lung.
