1.Efficacy of oral zinc complementary for children with long anorexia
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):31-34
To evaluate the effects of zinc on chronic anorexic children, we have divided 132 chronic anorexic children aged 3-48 months old into two groups. The test group was supplemented with iron, vitamins and 10mg of elemental zinc daily orally while the control group was supplemented with iron, vitamins. The results have shown that appetite, energy intakes and growth rate in the test group were improved better than those in the control group (P<0.001; P<0.001; P<0.001 and P<0.025). Initial serum zinc concentration of the chronic anorexic children in the test group is concerned obviously with rehabilitations of energy intakes (P<0.002). Weight and height velocities of the anorexic children with low zinc concentration in test group were lower than those of the anorexic the test group (P<0.005; P<0.005). Zinc supplementation has clearly affected to treat chronic anorexia in children.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2007;17(6):11-16
Background: Paralysis has been eliminated in Vietnam in 2000. To maintain the achievement, Vietnam needs to have more than 90% of children under 1 age drinking 3 doses of OPV, controlling cases of acute flaccid paralysis and diagnosing for virology in laboratory to determine causes of the disease. Results of laboratory identifying Polio virus and enterovirus in patients with acute flaccid paralysis is evidence of successful in paralytic elimination annually in Vietnam.\r\n', u'Objectives: To of isolate polio virus and enterovirus in patients with acute flaccid paralysis suspected paralysis in 2005.\r\n', u'Subjects and methods: The study included 267 cases with acute flaccid paralysis from 29 provinces, cities in the North and six provinces in the Central of Vietnam during 2005.\r\n', u'Results:Results of surveillance for acute flaccid paralysis and indicators of samples tested in 2005 have reached the criteria regulated by the World Health Organization. 8 poliovirus strains and 56 other non-polio enterovirus strains were isolated from 538 stool specimens of above patients. All isolated poliovirus strains were confirmed as Sabin-like strains. 56 non-polio enterovirus strains included coxsaxkie A (3), conxsackieB (5), echoviruses (34), enterovirus 71 (1) and untyped enteroviruses (13). Wild polio virus was not isolated in 2005.\r\n', u'Conclusion: The result confirmed successfulness in maintaining of poliomyelitis free status in the North and 6 provinces of the Central of Vietnam in 2005.\r\n', u'\r\n', u'\r\n', u'

3.Tissue array technique and it's using in finding the Eptein Barr Virus (EBV) and protein P53 in Gastric cancer tissue
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;295(2):17-22
Tissue array is a technique by taking and transfering pieces of tissue from different block paraffin to new block. After cutting the authors get a slice with a lot of different samples. This technique saves time, chemistry and work. Using this technique to study 220 Gastric cancer samples. The expression of protein P53 in Gastric cancer tissue is 52.3%. In situ hybridization was used to find the EBERs (EBV Encoded small RNAs) of EBV in Gastric cancer tissue

5.The real situation of health care for people at 3 extremly difficult commune of Ba Be district, Bac Kan province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;484(8):12-15
Assessment 3 communes of Khang Ninh, Thuong Giao and Cao Thuong, Ba Be district, Bac Can province showed that: the rate of poor households were very high, the pollution of the enviroment was very serious. On the health care: the medical stations at 3 communes were lack in number and insufficient quality. The medical index were very low:malnourished children at 3 communes were very high; remained malaria, the incidence of intestinal parasite in children were at high level; women who had gynecological examination was very low; the health care for mothers were very poor.

6.To find the risk of HIV transmitted in some areas of Lang Son province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;445(3):45-49
From Jaruary 5 to 14/2003, in Lang Son, an interview was conducted involving 131 subjects discussing about the risk of transmission of HIV. They are: users of intravenous drug injection, prostitutes and their sex partners, stress children, HIV patients… There were 1393 intravenous drug users, this number was not reduced, even increased sex worker group includes 50 subjects with the trend of increase gradually. There are potential risk behaviours. Among about 150 street children, 20-30% had sex intercourse with prostitutes, 10-20% girls were forced in sex relation. The increasing groups of 600-800 of public motobikes drivers, who had risk sexual behaviours with prostitute, were an important cause of HIV transmission

7.The awareness about the reproduction health and the control of STD &HIV/AIDS among adolescence in Thanh Xuan District - Ha Noi
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;439(1):63-66
In Thanh Xuan District - Ha Noi, from June to July 2000, representatives of adolescence, which compose of 20 students of high school, 10 students of the university, 10 plant workers, 10 shop and restaurant workers were enrolled in a qualified study in combining with a quick assessment and an attendance of the community. 100% adolescent subjects manifest their wishes to be aware on the reproductive health and on the control of HIV/AIDS and STDs. 70-100% know syphilis, gonorrhea, 95-100% know HIV/AIDS and STDs. 70-100% subject know the use of condom. As regard the attitude, most of them do not agree with sexual relation before 20 years old of age. As regard the behavor, 60-80% of them conduct the sexual relation with the consent from two parts, hotel and guest house are the site of choice. In practice, 40-66.7% of them use contraceptive medicament, 20-33.3% use condom

8.Multiplex PCR and detection of three genes of Helicobacter pylori
Journal of Medical Research 2003;0(2):1-4
Bacterium Helicobacter pylori is the causative agent of many gastric disorders. That is why, its correct detection is necessary. However, monitoring the bacteria by amplifying only one gene has used to give false-negative results due to the biodiversity of the bacteria. The conditions for Multiplex PCR amplifying three virulent genes of the bacteria such as cagA., ureaseB and Hp1125 were optimized. It is recommended to detect Helicobacter pylori in clinical setting in Vietnam.

9.Treatment of spontaneous pneumothorase by using autotranfusion to create adhesion of pleura
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;439(1):87-89
123 patients with spontaneous pneumothorax (including 5 patients with bilateral pneumothorax) were treated in Military Hospital No103, aged 16-83, the sex and age were concernless. The incidence of right pneumothorax (64,4%), higher than a left (31,8%). This meidence in the group of occupations requiring physical strength is higher than in the group of sedentary and intellectual occupations. The onset manifests suddenly after an effort (76,3%). Clinical symptoms are violent suddenly pain of the chest (88,6%) dyspnea in the first hours (74,1%) enlarging intercostal clift in the sick side impairing the respiratory, gillard triad (99,1%). CT scaner has big value in determining the cause of pneumothorax (coefficiency of Kppa = 0,8). The continuous aspirating draining of pleural cavity in combining with creating pleural adhesive by autotransfusion is simple, inexpensive and efficacy method of treatment

Journal of Medical Research 2003;24(4):41-45
On 40 subjects of unspecified gender, PCR technique application for identifying DYZ1 gen to determine Y chromosome was performed in 38 subjects (95%). The results were conformed with PCR to identify TDF and the caryotype of the control group using PCR for detecting DYZ gen in determining Y chromosome. The accuracy reached 100% with no pseudonegative or pseudopositive results. The rest 5% (2 subjects) had not Y chromosome definitely. A case of TDF on X chromosome was detected affirmatively, as a first case in Vietnam.
