1.Efficacy of oral zinc complementary for children with long anorexia
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):31-34
To evaluate the effects of zinc on chronic anorexic children, we have divided 132 chronic anorexic children aged 3-48 months old into two groups. The test group was supplemented with iron, vitamins and 10mg of elemental zinc daily orally while the control group was supplemented with iron, vitamins. The results have shown that appetite, energy intakes and growth rate in the test group were improved better than those in the control group (P<0.001; P<0.001; P<0.001 and P<0.025). Initial serum zinc concentration of the chronic anorexic children in the test group is concerned obviously with rehabilitations of energy intakes (P<0.002). Weight and height velocities of the anorexic children with low zinc concentration in test group were lower than those of the anorexic the test group (P<0.005; P<0.005). Zinc supplementation has clearly affected to treat chronic anorexia in children.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2007;17(6):11-16
Background: Paralysis has been eliminated in Vietnam in 2000. To maintain the achievement, Vietnam needs to have more than 90% of children under 1 age drinking 3 doses of OPV, controlling cases of acute flaccid paralysis and diagnosing for virology in laboratory to determine causes of the disease. Results of laboratory identifying Polio virus and enterovirus in patients with acute flaccid paralysis is evidence of successful in paralytic elimination annually in Vietnam.\r\n', u'Objectives: To of isolate polio virus and enterovirus in patients with acute flaccid paralysis suspected paralysis in 2005.\r\n', u'Subjects and methods: The study included 267 cases with acute flaccid paralysis from 29 provinces, cities in the North and six provinces in the Central of Vietnam during 2005.\r\n', u'Results:Results of surveillance for acute flaccid paralysis and indicators of samples tested in 2005 have reached the criteria regulated by the World Health Organization. 8 poliovirus strains and 56 other non-polio enterovirus strains were isolated from 538 stool specimens of above patients. All isolated poliovirus strains were confirmed as Sabin-like strains. 56 non-polio enterovirus strains included coxsaxkie A (3), conxsackieB (5), echoviruses (34), enterovirus 71 (1) and untyped enteroviruses (13). Wild polio virus was not isolated in 2005.\r\n', u'Conclusion: The result confirmed successfulness in maintaining of poliomyelitis free status in the North and 6 provinces of the Central of Vietnam in 2005.\r\n', u'\r\n', u'\r\n', u'

3.Pulmonary ventilation in workers who were working in the environment with free silicon level that exceeded the allowed standard
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):43-45
A study on the pulmonary ventilation of 125 patients workers (male: 96, ages of 30-35 and working duration: 7-35 years) who were working in the environment with free silicon level that exceed the allowed standard has shown that there was a normal ventilation but there was a reduction of maximal flows among worker who were working in the environment with free silicon level that exceeded the allowed standard. There was a reduction of pulmonary ventilation and maximal flows among worker with silicosis type P.

4.Efficacy of the food supplementation for children with poor nutritional status and acute respiratory tract infection
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 1999;(10):20-25
Milk supplementation in 3 months had improved the nutritional status of infant in term of physical growth, hemoglobin and serum albumin level, as well as acute respiratory infection status. The prevalence of underweight grade 1 reduced from 83.1% to 13.6%, underweight grade 2 reduced from 15.3% to 6.8% and there was no case of severe malnutrition. Hemoglobin level increased from 8.961.04 g/dl to 11.21.15 g/dl and serum albumin increased from 3.940.62g/dl to 4.790.42g/dl. The prevalence of acute respiratory infection reduced from 84.7- 27.1%.

5.Food complementary for children during the growth period
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 1999;(10):17-18
The duration of starting the complement eating was an initial duration of growth of children. Many studies showed that children's slow development occurred within 6-18 months and following. The diet and other intervention impacted significantly on the intervention of children development during this period.

Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;8():23-27
The survey on 404 infants under twelve months in the 4 rural communes in Ninh Thanh district, Hai Hung province showed that high prevalence of underweight (14.6%), acute respiratory infection (84.7%) among the subjects. The main reason is low education level of the mother, low birth weight, lack of breast milk, early giving supplementary food, poor quality of supplementary food. The nutrition education and communication had improved the nutritional knowledge of these mothers.

10.Malaria epidemiology in Hoa Binh province, 2004
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(1):31-35
Study of malaria epidemiology in Hoa Binh province in 2004. Results: the prevalence was down by 10% in comparing to that of 2003; there was no death of malaria, no malaria epidemic, malaria parasite was down to 18.9%. During 2003-2004 period malaria parasite was mostly transmitted from residents working in the South or other provinces. Epidemiological characteristics in 2004 changed dramatically in comparison with 1992 in Hoa Binh, malaria indicators decreased. 1992: 1,182 parasites in 100 communes, 2004: 60 parasites mostly imported to some communes. In 1992, 100% Hoa Binh residents were in malaria areas, this figure in 2004 was 47%.
