5.Amniotic fluid index measurement prior to the labor for prognosis of risk of Clifford syndrome
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):64-66
Infant with high risk of Clifford syndrome was predicted by mean of amniotic fluid index (AFI) measurement before labor. There is reliability by underwent ultrasound evaluation for AFI measurement with modified four quadrant techniques before labor. 287 pregnant women were involved in this study. Authors found that: A high negative linear regression correlation between AFI and gestational age 38 to 42 weeks. After 38 weeks the AFI appeared to decline gradually the mean AFI was 144+/-40 in 38 weeks and 88+/-35 in 42 weeks of gestational age. There is a high relationship between Clifford syndrome and AFI. The cut-off point AFI <=40 as a predictor for predicting the fetal outcome related Clifford syndrome with the positive predictive value = 90. The negative predictive value: 98.2%. The specificity predictive value 99% and the positive predictive value: 64%.

6.Cloning and expression of human erythropoietin in E. coli
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2005;315(10):19-24
Cloning and determining the nucleotide sequence and expression of human erythropoietin (h-epo) gene in E. coli cells were presented. A gene encoding for mature h-EPO was amplified from human kidney total RNA by RT-PCR using specific primers. The product was cloned into the pCR2.1 TOPO cloning vector and the nucleotide sequence containing 498 bp encoding for mature h-EPO with 166 amino acids was determined by ABI PRISM 3100 Avant Genetic Analyzer (Applied Biosysterms). To express h-EPO in E.coli cells, the h-epo gene was subcloned into the pET21 (+) vector (Novagen) by ligase reaction and was transformed into BL21 (DE3) cells. The cells harboring the recombinant plasmid were grown in liquid LB medium supplementing ampicillin (final concentration of 100g/ml) at 370C. When the OD600 nm of the culture reached 0.5, IPTG (final concentration of 0.4mM) was added. The expression of the h-EPO was analyzed by SDS-PAGE and confirmed by Western Blotting using anti-h-EPO antibody

7.The relation between QT interval and left ventricular function in primary hypertension patient
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;463(10):11-13
Study 58 high pressure patients at Central Army Hospital 108 and 38 healthy and old people. The result was: QT gap is QTd87+-42ms, Qtcmax 485+-51, QT cd96+-33ms and QTc 443+-25ms longer comparing with 40+-13ms, 452+-45ms, 66+-10ms, 410+-27ms of normal people. QTd, QTcd, QTc in these patients initially incur hyperthropy of left vertricle, diostole and systole disorder which is taking longer than high pressure patients do not incur hyperthropy of left vertricle, diostole and systole disorder. 8.Infection of intestinal protozoa in school children
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(6):95-99
The study was designed and conducted from April 2004 to November 2005 to assess the infection of intestinal protozoa in school children. A total of 652 stool samples of school children in three schools from different geographical places of Ninh Binh (Red River Delta), Phu Tho (foot hill area) and Ha Giang (northern mountainous) was examined by etherformalin (WHO recommended technique). A general prevalence of protozoa of 19.01%, of which the individual infection rates of 22.96%, 13,18%, and 21.07% were found in Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Ha Giang, respectively. The protozoa species such as E.histolytica; E.coli; E.nana; E.hartmanni (belonging Amoeba) were more commonly found (11.8%) while G.lambia (Flagellata) was less (5.9%). Oocyst was rare (2.1%) and no case of Cryptosporidium was found.

Journal of Medical Research 2007;49(3):90-95
Background: AH product is a herbal remedy containing of twelve plant extracts, which has a good hepatoprotective effect in two models inducing acute liver injury by carbon tetraclorid (CCl4) and paracetamol. Objective: To evaluate antioxidant activity in vitro and in vivo of AH product. Subjects and methods: Evaluation of antioxidant activity through a reduction of anion superoxide level in vitro and MDA concentration in liver tissue in vitro and in vivo. Results: AH product reduced anion superoxide level, IC50 was 26.60\xb5g/ml. In vitro, AH product at concentration of 125\xb5g/ml reduced formation of MDA 53.70%. The higher the concentration, the stronger the inhibition. In vivo, models of acute liver injuries induced by CCI4 and PAR in mice, AH product at two different doses (4.8 tablets/kg and 9.6 tablets/kg) reduced MDA concentration in liver tissue (33,9 - 36,6 % in CCI4 model and 21,4 - 25,3 % in PAR model) in comparison with group which used hepatotoxins but didn't use any drug. Conclusions: AH product containing many remedies was demonstrated having antioxidant activity which contributed to mechanism of hepatoprotection of this product. \r\n", u'\r\n', u'
