Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of Wumei Pill in the treatment of cold-heat complex diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.Methods Modified Wumei Pill was adopted to treat 46 cases of cold-heat complex diarrhea predominant irritable bowel syndrome.Five main symptoms of stool frequency,stool shape and properties,abdominal pain and discomfort,bowel gurgling,vulnerable to the cold were observed.The symptom scores before the treatment and 1 week,2 weeks and 4 weeks after the treatment were evaluated.Results After the treatment of 1 week,2 weeks and 4 weeks,the overall efficiency was 58.70％(27/46),84.78％(39/46),and 97.83％(45/46) respectively,and there were significant differences in curative effect between the different treatment courses (between treatment of 2 weeks and 1 weekx2＝8.571,between treatment of 4 weeks and 2 weekx2=16.426,between treatment of 4 weeks and 1 week x2=35.622).Effective rate of symptoms after 4 weeks treatment were respectively:stool frequency 82.05％ (32/39),stool shape and properties 95.56％ (43/45),abdominal pain and discomfort 92.86％ (39/42),bowel gurgling 85.71％ (18/21),vulnerable to the cold 64.29％ (27/42),and there was obvious differences in effective percentage of five kinds of symptoms between treatment of 4 weeks and 1 week (Stool frequency x2 =7.123、stool shape and properties x2 =13.611、abdominal pain or discomfort x2 =7.721、bowel gurgling x2=10.096、vulnerable to the cold x2=10.769).Conclusion.The clinical effect of Wumei Pill for the treatment of cold-heat complex diarrhea predominant irritable bowel syndrome was defined.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN and the correlation between them in oral squamous cell carcinoma ( OSCC) . Methods The expression of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN mR-NA in 43 cases of OSCC and 11 cases of normal oral tissue were detected by RT-PCR. Results The expression of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN mRNA in OSCC was significantly higher than those in normal oral tissue ( P <0.05 ) . Compared with those without lymph node metastasis in OSCC, the expression of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN mRNA with lymph node metastasis was significantly higher ( P <0.05 ) . Furthermore, the expression of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN was significantly associated with pathological stage and the lymph node metastasis,but neither of them was correlated with sex and age. Correlation analysis showed that MMP-14 expression level was positively related to EMMPRIN level(r=0.801,P<0.01). Conclusion The expression of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN in OSCC is signif-icantly correlated with occurrence, progress and metastasis of OSCC. Therefore, the combination of detecting the expression of MMP-14 and EMMPRIN mRNA may evaluate the degree of malignancy and predict the prognosis of patients with OSCC.

Objective To verify the possibility and exactly of ultrasound diagnosing peripheral nerve injection injury,by high-frequency ultrund observing the rabbits' injection injured sciatic nerve and contrasting with pathology.Methods Twenty-two rabbits were enrolled in this study,anesthetized by injected phenobarbital sodium through the ear edge vein.The rabbits' left sciatic nerve were punctured and cidomycin was injected by ultrasound guided.Ultrasound examination on the left sciatic nerve was performed at different time.After each examination 2 rabbits were killed and dissected the affected limb.The sciatic nerve was observed by eyes and under microscope.Results After injection,the sciatic nerves' outer diameter,inner diameter,thickness of the epineurium,the proportion of epineurium was increased (P ＜ 0.05),internal echo of the nerves was reduced (P ＜ 0.05),epineurium became rough (P ＜ 0.05),demarcation with surrounding tissue became gradually fuzzy (P ＜ 0.05),the nerves became rigid (P ＜ 0.05).Observed by microcrope,after injection,hyperemia and hemorrhage of endoneurium and epineurium,inflammatory cell infiltration,damaged nerve fiber structures,desmoplasia inside and outside nerve can be seen.Conclusions The sonogram of injection injured nerve vary in different periods,and related with pathological changes.High-frequency ultrasound is a reliable imaging method of diagnosing sciatic nerve injection injury.

Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is an autoimmune disease that affects primarily women,commonly in their reproductive years but does not influence fertility.More recent prospective studies indicate that pregnancy is safe for the majority of mothers if it is planned when SLE is quiescent.In pregnant women with lupus nephritis,the outcome of the fetal and maternal is strongly correlated with lupus activity,kidney function and the presence of aPL at the time of conception.To prevent renal complications,prednisone is given after conception,and reinforcement for a few days before the estimated delivery and for a week after delivery or miscarriage with rapid tapering to maintenance levels may be suggested.Treatment of flares includes corticosteroids,hydroxychloroquine,azothioprine and cyclosporin A.Blood pressure is controlled with methyldopa,labetalol nifedipine or hydralazine.

There is a high prevalence of gastric cancer in China,but most of the patients are diagnosed at advanced stages,when chemotherapy is regarded as an important component of the multimodal treatment.Chemotherapy has demonstrated advantages over best suppor-tive care in prolonging survival and improving quality of life.Over the past 40 years,the clinical responses of two or three-drug combination chemotherapy regimens have been accepted,and 5-fluorouracil,cisplatin and epirubicin have been most frequently used in gastric cancer.Recently,the therapeutic effects of advanced gastric cancer treated by new regimen consisted of docetaxel,irinotecan,oxaliplatin and capecitabine have been further enhanced.The molecular targeted agent,cetuximab and bevacizumab,combined with chemotherapy,would be more promising therapeutic regimens in the treatment of advanced gastric caner.

Objective To explore the effect of music therapy on post-stroke depression (PSD) with left basal ganglia aphasia. Methods From April, 2013 to July, 2016, 60 patients with PSD and left basal ganglia aphasia were selected as control group (n=30) and research group (n=30). Both groups accepted routine medicine and rehabilitation, and the research group accepted music therapy in addition, for three months. They were assessed with modified Stroke Aphasic Depression Questionnaire Hospital Version (SADQ-H) and China Rehabilitation Research Center Aphasia Examination (CRRCAE) before and after treatment. Results The incidence of serious depression was less in the re-search group than in the control group after treatment, according to the score of SADQ-H (χ2=8.926, P<0.05). The research group improved more in listening comprehension, repetition and name scores than those of the control group (t>5.707, P<0.001). Conclusion Music therapy helps to relief depression and improve speech in patients with PSD and basal ganglia aphasia.

Objective To study the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha(HIF-1?) and HIF-1? mRNA after focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats.Methods Adult male SD rats were divided into six groups: sham operation group,5 groups of ischemia/reperfusion(the rats undergoing 2-hour ischemia and then 6-hour,1-day,2-day,3-day and 4-day reperfusion),with 6 rats in each group.Middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) was set up in male SD rats according to Longa' method.The cerebral tissues were analyzed with immunohistochemical methods.The level of HIF-1? protein by immunohistochemical methods and the level of HIF-1? mRNA by in situ hybridization and RT-PCR were detected in the brain tissues.Results HIF-1? protein expression started at 6 h after reperfusion,increased remarkably on day 1,reached the peak on day 3,then declined markedly on day 4.HIF-1? mRNA increased at 6 h after reperfusion,peaked on day 3,then declined on day 4.HIF-1? expression was mainly in the periphery of infarcted area at each time point.Conclusion High expression of HIF-1? during focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in the rat brain tissues,suggests that HIF-1? has neuroprotective effect against cerebral ischemic injury.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1 )in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC)and autoimmune hepatitis (AIH).Methods Sixty-one PBC patients and 59 AIH patients,who were hos-pitalized or visited the outpatient department from June 2012 to September 2013,as well as 50 healthy controls,were included in the study. The PBC patients included 29 incipient cases,21 cases in remission,and 11 recurrent cases;the AIH patients included 26 incipient cases, 20 cases in remission,and 13 recurrent cases.Serum sICAM-1 level was measured by double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immu-nosorbent assay,and serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT)and total bilirubin (TBil)were determined by biochemical enzyme as-say.Comparison between groups was made by analysis of variance;Pearson correlation analysis was performed.Results Among PBC pa-tients,the incipient group and recurrent group had significantly higher serum sICAM-1 levels than the remission group and control group (P=0.000 for all);there was no significant difference in serum sICAM-1 level between the incipient group and recurrent group (P=0.484);the remission group had a significantly higher serum sICAM-1 level than the control group (P=0.000).Among AIH patients, the incipient group and recurrent group had significantly higher serum sICAM-1 levels than the remission group and control group (P=0.000 for all);there was no significant difference in serum sICAM-1 level between the incipient group and recurrent group (P=0.802);no significant difference in serum sICAM-1 level was seen between the remission group and control group (P=0.281).For patients with PBC and AIH,serum sICAM-1 level was positively correlated with serum levels of ALT (r=0.664,P=0.000;r=0.784,P=0.000) and TBil (r=0.715,P=0.000;r=0.580,P=0.000).Conclusion Serum sICAM-1 may be involved in the immunologic injury in PBC and AIH.In patients with PBC and AIH,the elevation of serum sICAM-1 level is closely correlated with the severity of liver damage. Clinical monitoring of serum sICAM-1 level may play an important role in severity assessment,prognostic evaluation,and therapy guidance among patients with autoimmune liver diseases.

Objective To investigate the treatment effect of retrograde holmium laser lithotripsy on treatment of impacted ureteral calculi.Methods One hundred and twenty-eight patients with ureteral calculi in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from Feb.2011 to Dec.2013 were divided into unimpacted ureteral calculi group (70 cases) and impacted ureteral calculi (58case).The treatment efficacy,operation complications of holmium laser lithotripsy and the causes of the failure of operation were recorded.Results The stone clearance rate,operative periods and postoperative incidence of gross hematuria in the un-impaction group were 91.4％ (64/70),(36.3 ± 10.7) min and 51.4％ (36/70) respectively,significant different from those in impacted ureteral calculi(74.1％ (43/58),(45.2 ± 13.9) min and 84.5％ (49/58) respectively;x2 =6.914,t =3.736,x2 =15.535 ;P ＜ 0.05).There were no significant difference between the un-impaction group and impaction group in terms of the postoperative hospital stay periods,analgesics utilization rate,urinary tract infection rates and ureteral perforation rate.In the un-impaction group,6 cases were surgical failure due to the movement of ureteral calculi during the operation.Fifteen cases were surgical failure in the impaction group,mainly due to the stone fragments move,the ureter excessive distortion and ureteral stricture.The success rate was 58.3％ (14/24) of the stones,which were above the level of L4 in the impaction group,while the success rate was 85.3％ (29/34) of the stones that was below the level of L4 in the impaction group (x2 =5.334,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Impacted ureteral calculi is more difficult to deal than unimpacted stone.The operation success rate of impacted stones above the level of L4 is less than below L4 due to stone fragments and ureter distorting.
