c-kit+ cells are mainly derived from bone marrow and cardiac tissue.The cells include various subpopulations.Recent studies have shown that c-kit+ cells are a kind of ideal cells of transplantation therapy for myocardial infarction.However,there is a great debate on the differentiation efficiency of c-kit+ cells towards cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells.Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the potential of c-kit+ cell differentiation and explore the effects of different developmental stages and microenvironments on differentiation of c-kit+ cells again.These studies could be significant for increasing efficiency of c-kit+ cell transplantation in repairing the infarcted myocardium.

AIM: To observe the changes of NO, ET-1, SOD and MDA levels in plasma of rats exposed to infrasound. METHODS: Using infrasound (frequency: 8 Hz; sound pressure level:130 dB), the rats were exposed for 1 d, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d and 28 d, 2 h daily, then the levels of NO, ET-1, SOD and MDA were measured after exposure. Objective To evaluate the methods of standard patient (SP)combined with case-based learning (CBL ) in humanistic quality cultivation for interns in the department of thoracic surgery. Methods Medical interns in the department of thoracic surgery were divided randomly into experimental(n=30)and control group(n=30)respectively. In experimental group,SP combined with CBL was used while in control group traditional teaching was used. At the end of the study,teaching effect was assessed by the final examination and questionnaires and the data were processed by t test andX2 test. P<0.05 signifies statistical differences. Results There was no significant difference in test scores between the two groups (P>0.05). Scores of history-taking,medical check-up,paper writing quality in the final examination in experimental group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01). Satisfaction degrees of doctor-patient communication,responsibility and service attitude in experimental group were better than those of control group(X2=16.484,10.335,20.376,32.851,P<0.01). Conclusions SP combined with CBL teaching method can stimulate the students' interests in thoracic surgery practice,improve the doctor-patient relationship and strengthen the ability of human-istic concern. It is a better clinical thoracic practice teaching method and it is beneficial to cultivating medical students with humanistic concern.

Objective To study Keshan disease and its developmental trend in Zhangjiakou City in 2010 and to provide a scientific basis for further prevention of the disease.Methods From the eight diseased counties of Zhangjiakou City,five diseased countries were selected; in each diseased county a diseased village was selected as the clinical investigating point.Physical examination and Electrocardiography (ECG) tracings were carried out to suspicious patients with Keshan disease.Suspected heart enlargement,and ECG abnormalities were taken anteroposterior chest X-ray to measure the cardiothoracic ratio.Results A total of 2519 people were examined,16 cases were diagnosed as chronic Keshan disease,79 as latent Keshan disease,and the detection rate was 0.64％ (16/2519) and 3.14％(79/2519),respectively.Total of 2519 ECG tracings were taken,and electrocardiogram abnormalities were 268 cases,with a abnormal rate 10.64％,and most of them were complete right bundle branch block[accounted for 17.16％ (46/268)].Totally 94 cases of anteroposterior chest X-ray films were taken and 42 cases were cardiac enlargement,with a detection rate 44.68％.The numbers of mild,moderate and severe cases were 20,12 and 10,respectively,and the constituent ratio was 47.62％ (20/42),28.57％ (12/42),23.81％ (10/42),respectively.Conclusions The incidence of Keshan disease in Zhangjiakou City is relatively low,and the condition is stable.But monitoring and comprehensive prevention and control measure still should be strengthened.

Objective To explore the application of video laryngoscope in patients with pituitary adenoma during endotracheal intubation.Methods Fifty-one patients (19 males, 32 females, aged 18-71 years, ASA physical status I or II) scheduled for resection of pituitary adenoma under general anesthesia were enrolled.These patients were randomly divided into two groups: Macintosh laryngoscope Group (group M, n=25) and Video laryngoscope Group (group VL, n=26).When performing endotracheal intubation, Macintosh laryngoscope was used to expose the glottis in group M, and video laryngoscope was used in group VL.Head tilted backward angle, mouth opening, thyromental distance, neck circumference, mandibular ramus length, modified Mallampati classification and the difficulty classification of mask ventilation of the patients in two groups were recorded during peri-operation period.The Cormark-Lehane grade, needed pressing of the cricoids cartilage, the ratio of a second attempt during intubation and the intubation time consumed were recorded.Results Less patients in group VL needed cricoids cartilage press (7.7% vs 48.0%) during the intubation than that in group M (P<0.01).Compared with group M, the Cormack-Lehane grade was significantly lower (P<0.01) and the intubation time consumed was significantly shorter in group VL [(32.4±11.7)s vs (45.8±12.6)s] (P<0.01).Conclusion In patients with pituitary adenoma,video laryngoscope may improve the glottis exposure and the success rate of intubation, as well as shorten the intubation time.

Objective To compare the differences and characteristics of the dose distribution of the two optimization methods in the three dimensional brachytherapy,and provide the basis for clinieal treatment.Methods Excel 2007 was used to generate random number.And a total of 21 patients of cervical cancer were selected from those who have completed the treatment.Inverse simulated annealing optimization (IPSA) plans were designed for graphical optimization (GO) plans.The dose volume histogram (DVH) parameters of the targets (V100％,V150％) and the organs (D1 cm3,D2cm3) of the two methods were analyzed.Results The targets dose of both plans could meet the prescription requirements.There was no statistically significant difference in the dose parameters of all targets (P ＞ 0.05).The closes of D1 cm3 and D2cm3 in the bladder of IPSA plan were significantly lower than that of the GO plan (t =3.596,3.490,P ＜ 0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the dose parameters of rectum (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions For cervix brachytherapy,the GO and IPSA have no effect on targets dose,but IPSA optimization can reduce the maximum dose of bladder.

Objective:To explore the expression of R-spondin family in colorectal cancer tissues and adjacent tissues,and to evaluate its relationship with clinic-pathological stage.Methods:A total of 64 samples of colorectal cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were collected from the patients,who received radical surgery in Xiangya Hospital,Central South University between January 2014 and August 2014.The mRNA and protein expression levels of R-spondin 1-4 and β-catenin in the colorectal cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were detected by qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry.The relationship between the expression level of R-spondin 1-4 and the clinic-pathological factors were analyzed to explore the correlation between the expression level of R-spondin 1-4 and β-catenin in colorectal cancer.Results:Compared with the adjacent tissues,the mRNA and protein expression levels of R-spondin 1 were elevated in the colorectal cancer tissues (P＜0.05).The mRNA and protein expression levels of R-spondin 2-4 were increased in the colorectal cancer tissues than those in the normal tissues (P＜0.05),but there was no significant difference between the colorectal cancer tissues and adjacent tissues (P＞0.05).The expression level of R-spondin i was positively correlated with the nuclear expression of β-catenin in the colorectal cancer tissues (r=0.6307,P＜0.05).Conclusion:Compared with the adjacent tissues,the mRNA and protein expression levels of R-spondin 1 are significantly elevated in the colorectal cancer tissues.R-spondin 1 may play a role in promoting carcinogenesis by regulating the activity of β-catenin in the downstream of Wnt signaling pathway.

Objective To study the impacts of different applicators on dose distribution in 192 Ir brachytherapy. Methods The inner tubes of two cylinder applicators from Nucletron,#101?001 and#084?350, were made of plastic and stainless steel, respectively. The cylinder parts of them were made of plastic, and had four different radiuses:1?00 cm, 1?25 cm, 1?50 cm, and 1?75 cm. EGSnrc program was used to simulate dose distribution when applicators were present in a phantom, and the results calculated by the treatment planning system were compared with the results of EGSnrc. The impacts of applicators on dose distribution were analyzed with different materials, thickness, and numbers of resident source. Results There was no significant relationship between dose deviation and the radius for the two applicators. When an applicator was present, the actual dose delivered to a patient was smaller than the planned dose. The dose deviation of the applicator#101?001 was no more than 1%, while the dose deviation of the applicator#084?350 was close to 3%. The dose deviation remained the same when the number of resident source changed. Conclusions The plastic applicator, if possible, is the best choice for brachytherapy right now. In a long term, in order to promote the accuracy of brachytherapy, current dosimetry algorithm should be improved, and the impacts of the applicator made of metal, such as stainless steel, on dose distribution should be taken into account.

This paper focuses mainly on the study of optimal fermentation conditions of S-adenosyl-L-methionine.Effects of carbon sources,nitrogen sources,inorganic constituents,growth factors and adding time of L-methionine on the yield,the content and biomass of S-adenosyl-L-methionine are studied.And ingredients of the culture medium are also optimized by the method of uniform design.The final optimum culture medium contains: glucose 30 g,Yeast powder 11 g,(NH_4)_2SO_4 12 g,K_2HPO_4?3H_2O 5 g,KH_2PO_4 10 g,MnSO_4?H_2O 0.09 g,ZnSO_4?7H_2O 0.14 g,MgCl_20.5 g,CaCl_2 0.3 g,CuSO_4 0.005 g per liter. Using that optimum culture medium,the yield of S-adenosyl-L-methionine can reach 0.9 g/L in Erlenmeyer flask which is 30 % higher than before.Experiment on 5 L fermenter reveals that the accumulation of S-adenosyl-L-methionine can reach 2.66 g/L.Biomass is 23.4 g/L.
