2.Progress in the study of Apelin-APJ system
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(08):-
The family of apelin peptides is derived from a single gene and activates the 7-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptor, namely APJ.Apelins have been shown to be involved in the regulation of cardiovascular functions, fluid homeostasis, central nervous system functions, insulin sensitivity, food and water intake. The properties of this system may make it a novel drug target of therapeutic applications in the cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and heart failure, and related diseases like obesity.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(03):-
Objective To study the possibility of endoscopic thyroidectomy. Methods Benign thyroid tumors, with diameter between 22 mm and 38 mm, were successfully removed in 8 patients by endoscopic thyroidectomy through anterior chest wall. Results The mean operation time was 120 min (range, 60 min~180 min), and the mean intraoperative blood loss was 20 ml (range, 10 ml~50 ml). No intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred. And no scars remained. Conclusions Endoscopic thyroidectomy through anterior chest wall is a safe and effective procedure for benign thyroid tumors, with excellent cosmetic results in the neck postoperatively.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of thread embedding plus Chinese medication in treating primary dysmenorrhea due to blood stagnation caused by cold accumulation. Methods Totally 136 patients with primary dysmenorrhea due to blood stagnation caused by cold accumulation were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 68 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by thread embedding at Shiqizhui (EX-B 8) and bilateral Ciliao (BL 32) plus Chinese medication;while the control group was by Chinese medication alone. The dysmenorrhea symptom score and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were observed before and after intervention, and the clinical efficacies were compared. Results The total effective rate and recovery-markedly effective rate were respectively 93.8%and 78.1%in the treatment group, versus 85.2%and 50.0%in the control group, and there was a significant difference in comparing the recovery-markedly effective rate (P<0.05). After intervention, the dysmenorrhea symptom score and VAS score were significantly changed in both groups (P<0.01);there were significant differences in comparing the symptom score and VAS score between the two groups (P<0.05). The half-a-year follow-up study showed that the total effective rate and recovery-markedly effective rate were respectively 90.6%and 68.8%in the treatment group, versus 70.6%and 38.2% in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusions Thread embedding plus Chinese medication is an effective approach in treating dysmenorrhea due to blood stagnation caused by cold accumulation, and it’s easy-to-operate and causes less pain.

Objective To explore the influence of olanzapine combined with risperidone on the serum level of homocysteine (Hcy) in patients with schizophrenia. Methods Participants included sixty patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, patients were divided into two groups by means of random digital method. The group A was given olanzapine treatment, and the B group was given olanzapine combined with risperidone therapy. After two months follow-up,the curative effect and the level of Hcy were observed. Results Before treatment,Hcy level [(24.4 ± 6.1)μmol/L,(25.8 ± 7.7)μmol/L] and HH number (22 cases,23 cases) in the two groups had no obvious differences (t =1.11,x2 =1.34,all P > 0.05) ;2 months after treatment,Hcy level (11.6 ± 8.6) μmol/L and HH number(16 cases) in group B were significantly lower than those in the group A [(16.3 ± 3.8) μmol/L,8 cases],the differences were statistically significant (t =4.65,x2 =4.32,all P < 0.05).Conclusion Olanzapine combined with risperidone in treatment of schizophrenia have good curative effect,it can improve the symptoms of patients, decrease serum Hcy level and HH number.

Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(22):-
[Objective]To research the efficient way of isolating and proliferating of induced endothelial cells(ECs) ,measure the number of the ECs and observe the main biological characteristic of ECs m vitro during the passage cultivation.[Method]The marrow mononuclear cells(MNCs) in rabbit marrow were isolated by the gradiem centrifugation and cultivated to isolate and induce ECs. The efficiency of isolating and harvesting ECs was measured by the number of the first passage ECs from every 10~6 of the MNCs. The changes of ECs morphology, growth and proliferation were observed during the passage cultivation. The immunohistochemical staining of CD31 and vWF and function of ECs were checked.[Result]After cultivated at 1?10~6/cm~2 MNCs for 7~8 d, the first passage ECs were harvested. The number of the first and the second passage ECs had a remarkable statistical positive correlation with the number of the MNCs from one rabbit. After cultivated for 7~8 d, the first passage ECs of 7.086?0.75?10~4 in number and the second passage ECs of 53.20?6.47?10~4 in number were harvested from every 10~6 MNCs on average;ECs, which were monolayer arrayed to form cobblelike shape,The cells of 2nd passage showed positive staining of CD31 and vWF, and positive labeling of DiI-LDL and UEA.[Conclusion]The period from cultivating to harvesting ECs is shortened at the density of 1?10~6/cm~2 MNCs. It is feasible that the efficiency of isolating and harvesting ECs could be measured by the number of the first or the second passage ECs from every 10~6 MNCs. The induced ECs can act as seeding cells in bone tissue engineering in future.
8. Analyses of infection after liver transplantation in 113 patients
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2013;48(14):1209-1212
OBJECTIVE: To analyze the prevalence of bacterial infection and drug sensitivity after liver transplantation so as to provide reference to effective clinical therapy. METHODS: A retrospective survey of 113 patients who underwent orthotopic liver transplantation was carried out. RESULTS: The reported total incidence of bacterial infection after liver transplantation was 45.1%, while the verified incidence was 28.3%. The major bacterials were Klebsiella pneumoniae and Enterococcus faecom. Multidrug-resistant was observed. CONCLUSION: It is very important to prevent bacterial infection and use antibiotic rationaly. Selection of effective antibiotics according to etiologic data and resistance of bacterial can help prevent the occurance of drug resistant strains.
