Recently, cosmetic acupuncture has converged on the acupuncture industry currently, cosmetic acupuncture is in strong demand in clinical scenes every day, and it is a part of classes at training institutions or universities of acupuncture.
Only ten years ago, it was taboo to use acupuncture cosmetically except for special occasions, and acupuncturists and moxa-cauterizers did not have much interest in it. However, against the background of its being required for the "beauty"field, it is seen off and for the wish for youth and beauty of us hoping for a higher quality of life. In June 2010, the 59th annual meeting of Japan Society of Acupuncture and Moxibustion held the International Conference Centre in Osaka Nakanoshima. This acupuncture congress came up with a great topic, and the extension of practical skills for cosmetic acupuncture took place for the first time. We got a high response at the congress. The hall capacity was 350 people and was full. People were even standing in the back because there were no seats left. Therefore, we would like to request you, professors teaching people exhibiting some practical skills at the congress, to write about your thoughts for cosmetic acupuncture and the practice of it, which we hope will be future prospects for cosmetic acupuncture.
3.Comparison of the front crawl leg kick and arm stroke characteristics of male age-group and college swimmers.

The purpose of this study was to determine the physiological responses, stroke rate and stroke length of front crawl leg kick and arm stroke of age-group and college swimmers and to elucidate the characteristics of male age-group swimmers, which have not been highlighted adequately. The subjects were ten 11.8-to 12.4-year-old well-trained male elementary school swimmers (group E) and nine 20.1-to 21.1-year-old well-trained male college swimmers (group C) . All the subjects were categorized into similar swimming levels for their ages. All the experiments were performed in a swimming flume (AQUAGYM made by IHI) . The water velocities during leg kicking and arm stroking were 60 and 70%, respectively, of the maximal velocity at maximal oxygen uptake (Vmax) . The oxygen uptake (VO2), heart rate (HR), pulmonary ventilation (VE), tidal volume (TV), respiratory rate (RR) and blood lactate (BL) level of each group were significantly higher during leg kicking than arm stroking at both velocities. VO2, VE; and TV were significantly higher in group C than group E during leg kicking and arm stroking at both velocities, but HR, RR and BL did not differ significantly. The leg kick to arm stroke VO2 ratio at 70% Vmax was significantly higher in group E than group C. The stroke rate at the same velocity was significantly lower and the stroke length was significantly higher in group C than group E, but the kick rate and length did not differ significantly. VO2·SR-1 and VO2 KR-1 at both velocities were significantly higher in group C than group E. VO2 Wt-1 SR-1 at 70% Vmax was significantly higher in group C than group E, but VO2 Wt-1 KR-1 at both velocities was significantly lower in group C than group E. These results clarified the differences between group E and group C, which must be considered carefully when designing a training program for age-group swimmers.
4.Current Status and Issues of Education on Radiation Health Risk Science

In accordance with the new model-core-curriculum for medical education, the current status of education about the science of radiation health was surveyed in all medical schools in Japan. Among the four learning points related to the “Biological effects of radiation and radiation hazards” , about half of the schools covered issues on “radiation and human body” and the “effect of medical radiation exposure” in one, or less than one, 60-minutes class, but did not touch on “radiation risk communication” and “radiological disaster medicine” . A significant deviation of human resources was also observed between schools. Learning tools such as presentation files and video content were preferred as education support materials. Therefore, development and distribution of the learning tools, especially in “radiation risk communication” and “radiological disaster medicine” , may be a first step to promoting high-quality education on the science of radiation health risk in each school’s curriculum.
