1.USING "SILMAG" AS AN ABSORBENT IN DETERMINATION OF RIBOFLAVIN
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
In this paper we recommended a new method, using "Silmag" as an absorbent for the determination of riboflavin content in foods fluorometrically. The lowest detecting value was 0.006 micrograms. The coefficient of variation of riboflavin in determining milk powder and the seed of Job's tears(Coix La-chrymalobi L.)was 2.1% and 3.3% respectively, and the recovery of added riboflavin in bread was 102.7, 102.3 and 99.7% with an average value of 101.4%; milk powder was 96.0, 103.0 and 104.2% with an average of 101.1%. Both precision and accuracy of this method were satisfactory. In determining riboflavin by fluorometric method, the sample must be treated by enzyme after hydrolysis. The "Silmag" can be reactivated after using.

The subjects were all Chinese male adults. The average age, body weight and height were 37.9 (24-44) yr, 64.3 (51.5-74.0) kg and 173 (157-180) cm respectively in the first group, and 30.2 (24-41) yr, 67.7 (56.5-70.0) kg and 171 (170-176) cm respectively in the second group. The subjects in the first group were studied for 70 days for the N balance response at graded protein intakes of 0.42, 0.60, 0.73, 0.90 and 1.05 g/kg /day on Chinese mixed diet, during 5 experimental periods respectively. Each period took ten days preceded by one day of low protein diet, and was followed by three days of free choice diet The sequence of protein intakes during the study was 0.60, 0.73, 0.42, 0.90 and 1.05 g/kg/day. Six subjects in the second group were given a mixed diet ata protein level of 0.93 (0.91-0.94) g/kg/day for three months. In the N balance data of the first group, all subjects were in negative balance at protein intake of 0.42, 0.60 and 0.73 g/kg/day and all in positive N balance at 1.05 g/kg/day. Most of the subjects were in positive N balance at 0.90 g/kg/day. The linear regression analysis of N balance response of individual subject is that the intercept at zero balance of individuals ranged from 129.4-192.5 mg N/kg/day with the mean of the group of 147.7? 18.6mg N/kg/day or 0.92?0.12 g protein/kg/day. The five of the six subjects in the second group were in positive N balance, when on a mixed diet of 0.93 ?0.02 g protein/kg/day for three months. The results obtained indicated the mean protein requirement of these subjects based on the linear regression analysis of N balance response of individuals was 147.7 ? 18.6 mg N/kg/day or 0.92?0.12 g protein/kg/day. If 97.5% is to be covered, the safe level of protein intake should be 1.16 g protein/ kg/day.

A develop of medical discharger of oxygen is presented in the paper. The medical discharge can control, display and print the output data including the time, oxygen discharge the total time and the total oxygen discharge of two channels oxygen synchronously or respectively, Results show that the device is of reasonable design, accurate, measurement simple operation, low cost, real-time display, alarm and controlling the channels oxygen automatically and can print data if necessary. It will be widely used in clinic.

It is necessary to improve the stability of human serum albumin in response to the complex temperature, light and other conditions during the manufacture and storage. In this paper, the stabilization effect and simple stabilization mechanism of ligands on albumin were described from the perspective of ligand binding to albumin.Through review and comparison, it can be concluded that the common ligand sodium octanoate mainly plays a role in improving thermal stability, and the common ligand N-acetyl-L-tryptophan mainly plays a role in improving antioxidant activity, N-acetyl-L-methionine has better antioxidant and anti-photooxidation than N-acetyl-L-tryptophan.

A modification of Watkinson's method was used for the flaorimetric determination of selenium in blood, hair, urine and animal tissues with 2,3-Di-aminonaphthalene. A mixture of sulphuric, perchloric acid and sodium molybdate was used for digestion. As little as 3 ng selenium in the sample could be estimated out. Coefficients of variation and recoveries for blood, hair, urine and animal tissues were 3.9, 5.5, 3.3 and 5.6%, and 97.0, 95.0, 97.8 and 99.8% respectively. No significant difference in selenium content estimated was found as graded amounts of samples were taken for analysis, indicating no foreign interference in the extracts. Both precision and accuracy of this method are satisfactory.

2,3-Diaminonaphthalene was used for the fluorometric determination of selenium in cereals and vegetables. Nitric-perchloric-sulphuric acids mixture was used for digestion. Coefficient of variation and recovery for cereals were 4-10% and 97.1%, and for vegetables were 4-18% and 97.8% respectively. Addition of hydrochloric acid to the final digests could be omitted for ordinary cereals and soybean, but it was necessary for samples from seleni-ferous area and some vegetables with higher selenium content such as mushrooms.

Objective To reveal the biomechanical mechanism of suspension exercise therapy (SET) for treating cervical spondylosis. Methods From August 2015 to December 2016, 72 patients with cervical spondylosis were divided into experimental group (SET treatment group) and control group (traction treatment group) based on simple random sampling methods. For experimental group: 9 males and 27 females, the average age (45.19±10.09) years old, the average disease course (24.94±18.07) months. For control group: 11 males and 25 females, the average age (44.08±8.88) years old, the average disease course (22.17±14.96) months. The mechanical properties of neck muscles before treatment and at the end of disease course were tested by Biodex Ⅲ Isokinetic Testing System. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the peak torque (PT), average power (AP), peak torque of flexor/extensor peak torque ratio (F/E) for both groups; after treatment, PT, AP, F/E in experimental group was improved compared with those in control group (P<0.05). Significant differences in PT, AP, F/E were found for experimental group before and after SET treatment(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in visual analogue scale (VAS) of neck pain for both groups before treatment (P>0.05),while the VAS of experimental group was better than that of control group(P<0.05). Significant differences in the VAS were found for experimental group before and after SET treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion sSET can improve the contraction forces and work efficiency of neck muscles for patients with cervical spondylosis, as well as the coordination ability of flexors and extensors muscles, which will contribute to restoring biomechanical properties of the patients with cervical spodylosis.

bjective To observe the changes of upper extremity sensory function in patients with radicular cervical spondylosis and evaluate the treatment effect, by using the method of suspension exercise therapy (SET) and soft tissue manipulation. Methods A total of 72 patients with cervical spondylosis were divided into observation group (treated by SET combined with manipulation)and control group (treated by purely cervical traction) by simple random method. Both groups received 4-week continuous treatment for 6 times per week. The somatosensory evoked potential(SEP), current perception threshold (CPT) before and after the treatment in two groups were separatedly tested, and changes in visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores of the affected limbs were examined, so as to determine the effective rate of treatment. Results After treatment, the latency of SEP was shortened mainly in brachial plexus potential N9 and cervical spinal potential N13 in two groups (P<0.05). The CPT levels and the VAS pain scores of the affected limbs were reduced in two groups (P<0.01), and the treatment effect in observation group was better that in control group (P<0.01).Conclusion SET combined with soft tissue manipulation can effectively promote the repair of nerve sense function of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
