This paper deals with the regional anatomy of the neck and some common acupoints. Acupoint Renying (ST 9) is taken as an example to elaborate the needling techniques and needling precautions of neck acupoints.

AIM:To choose the optimal processing condition for stir-frying Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae with honey.METHODS:The contents of glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin and macroscopical identification were selected as indexes according to orthogonal design L9(34),four factors including the proportion of processed honey and water,soaking moistening time,drying temperature,and drying time.RESULTS:Optional processing conditions consisted of using two part processed honey to one part water as mixture,30 min soaring moistening time,oven temperature rose to 130 ?C and keeping for 20 min.CONCLUSION:The above processing can make the contents of glycyrrhizic acid liquiritin maintaining more 2.33%(RSD 0.43%) and 0.9%(RSD 1.10%),the optimal honey-fried processing technology for Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae is reasonable.

Autoimmune diseases (AID) are characterized by autoimmune disorder, as autologous tissue is attacked by the autoimmune system. It is reported that the imbalance of autoimmune tolerance and ingrained inflammatory response are the core events of AID undoubtedly. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) which belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily is a ligand activated transcription factor. PPARγ combines with retinoid X receptor (RXR) to form heterodimer. When PPARγ is activated, the complex regulates gene expression by binding to a specific peroxisome proliferator response element (PPRE). In addition, PPARγ has diversified biological functions, playing important roles in regulating metabolism, controling inflammation, modulating glucose and lipid metabolism, ameliorating atherosclerosis, anti-tumor, and regulating immune response. However, recently researches indicate that PPARγ participates in the pathogenesis of AID. PPARγ plays key roles in regulating activation and polarization of macrophages, function of dendritic cells, proliferation and differentiation of T cells, and modulation of the function of related stromal cells. This article summarizes the biological functions and signal transduction pathways of PPARγ and the protective effects of agonists of PPARγ on AID, aiming to provide theoretical support for the research of mechanism and prevention and treatment of AID.

Objective To observe the effects of total saponins of tribulus of various consistency on the differentiation of neural hippocampus stem cells. Methods The hippocampus stem cells from newborn rat were obtained by serum-free medium and single-cell cloning technique. Hippocampus stem cells were induced by total saponins of tribulus of various consistency. Nestin, BrdU, neurofilament (NF-200), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression were detected using immunocytochemical stains. The numbers of NF and GFAP positive cells were counted. The percentages of positive cells were obtained. Results The dissociated cells from the organ of hippocampus developed into much of indiffrentiated otopheres of nestin positive cells. The hippocampus stem cell differentiated into neurons and astrocytes with the total saponins of tribulus. The percentage of NF positive neuron in the 20 mg/kg consistency of total saponins of tribulus groups was significantly higher than that in the control group and other consistency of total saponins of tribulus groups. Conclusion Total saponins of tribulus may enhance neural hippocampus stem cells differentiate into NF positive neuron.
