2.Eosinophilic Colitis that Presented with Subepithelial Tumor-like Lesions

Eosinophilic colitis is a rare disease that is characterized by eosinophilic infiltration in the colon wall in symptomatic patients. Thus far, the epidemiology and pathophysiology of eosinophilic colitis have not been well defined, but the hypersensitivity response is likely to play a role in its pathogenesis. The clinical presentation of eosinophilic colitis is usually nonspecific and depends on the layer of the intestinal wall affected by the eosinophilic infiltrate. Eosinophilic colitis is diagnosed generally by exclusion, i.e., after all other causes of eosinophilic infiltration have been excluded. Although there is no consensus over its diagnostic criteria, the laboratory results and radiology and endoscopy findings can provide important diagnostic evidence. This paper reports a case of eosinophilic colitis presenting as subepithelial tumor-like lesions in a 41-year-old man with the chief complaints of abdominal pain and loose stools. The patient had no diseases and no food or drug allergies in his medical history. In general, the endoscopic findings of eosinophilic colitis can vary from a normal mucosa to frank ulcerations. In this case, however, endoscopy revealed subepithelial tumor-like lesions. The colon biopsy showed eosinophilic infiltration in the lamina propria. The patient was treated with steroids, and his symptoms regressed with no signs of relapse.
3.Prognostic Factors Affecting Disease-Free Survival and Overall Survival in T4 Colon Cancer

Purpose:
It is known that as the T stage of a carcinoma progresses, the prognosis becomes poorer. However, there are few studies about factors that affect the prognosis of T4 advanced colon cancer. This study aimed to identify the prognostic factors associated with disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in T4 colon cancer.
Methods:
Patients diagnosed with stage T4 on histopathology after undergoing curative surgery for colon cancer between March 2009 and March 2018 were retrospectively analyzed for factors related to postoperative survival. Primary outcomes were DFS and OS.
Results:
Eighty-two patients were included in the study. DFS and OS of the pathologic (p) T4b group were not inferior to that of the pT4a group. Multivariate analysis showed that differentiation (hazard ratio [HR], 4.994; P = 0.005), and laparoscopic surgery (HR, 0.323; P = 0.008) were significant prognostic factors for DFS, while differentiation (HR, 7.904; P ≤ 0.001) and chemotherapy (HR, 0.344; P = 0.038) were significant prognostic factors for OS.
Conclusion
Tumor differentiation, laparoscopic surgery, and adjuvant chemotherapy were found to be significant prognostic factors in patients with T4 colon cancer. Adjuvant chemotherapy and curative resections by laparoscopy might improve the prognosis in these patients.

7.A Case of Miliary Osteoma Cutis in a Young Male

A 34-year-old male with acne was presented with a 1-year history of multiple tiny subcutaneous nodules on his face, particularly on both cheeks. Physical examination revealed asymptomatic, palpable, and hard nodules with an acne scar. The skin lesions were more obvious when the cheeks were inflated. A skin biopsy revealed multiple focal bony trabeculae with osteoblasts in the dermis. A diagnosis of multiple miliary osteomas cutis was done. Multiple miliary osteoma cutis is a rare benign extraskeletal ossification that is considered relatively common and under-reported because of its asymptomatic behavior. Osteoma cutis is generally observed in middle-aged females with a history of acne. Male involvement rarely occurs, especially at a young age, as observed in this patient. Topical retinoids were prescribed, but the lesions did not abate at 3 months follow-up.
8.A Case of Traumatic Tattoo by Colored Pencil Rapidly Spreading beyond the Injured Area

Traumatic tattoos are abnormal pigmentations caused by embedded foreign particles due to various injuries, including explosions, abrasions, or traffic accidents. Traumatic tattoos caused by pencils are common and considered trivial because they are usually confined to the injured site without any complications. A 4-year-old girl presented with a 5-month history of a grey-to-bluish patch on her left cheek. Histopathological examination revealed many pigment granules surrounding the blood vessels and appendages diffused from the mid to the lower dermis. Various staining methods were employed to verify that colorants caused the tattoo. To our knowledge, there have been no reports of traumatic tattoos caused by colored pencils that spread rapidly beyond the injured areas. In particular, various unexpected traumas can occur frequently in children; therefore, an accurate diagnosis is essential by differentiating it from other acquired pigmentary disorders
