The tumor microenvironment (TME), a dynamic and complex local environment, interacts with the tumor cells and is closely related to tumor growth, metastasis, immune escape and drug resistance. Thus, targeting the TME has been a worldwide focus in cancer therapy. Many natural products possess the advantages of multiple targets, multiple pathways and wide pharmacological functions, and are the main source of antitumor drugs. In recent years studies have found that some natural products had advantageous effects on the TME. In this review, we summarize the components and functions of the TME and some natural products that target the TME, with references to the drug therapy of cancer.

Objective To analyze the laboratory diagnosis results and epidemiological characteristics of imported malaria cases in Chongqing Municipality in 2015. Methods According to the Standard Operating Procedures of Malaria Diagnosis Ref-erence Laboratory Manual, all the blood samples collected from the imported malaria patients were detected by microscopy, RDT and nest PCR. Meanwhile, the epidemiological data of the malaria cases were collected from the Parasitic Diseases Informa-tion Management System and analyzed. Results Totally 31 cases of imported malaria were reported in Chonqing Municipality in 2015,among which, there were 2 vivax malaria cases(6.45%),23 falciparum malaria cases(74.19%),5 ovale malaria cas-es(16.13%),1 malariae malaria case(3.22%). For the 5 ovale cases, three of them were confirmed as Plasmodium ovale wal-likeri infection. Among all the cases,30 cases(96.77%)were from African countries,1(3.33%)was from Southeast Asia. Thir-ty patients were male, and 1 was female. All the patients were aged from 23-61 years. There was no obvious seasonality in the case distribution. Both the medians of duration from malaria attack to first visiting a doctor and from first visiting a doctor to diag-nosis were 2 days. The medical care units that the patients first visited were mainly county-level units, while those that made the diagnosis were mainly provincial level institutes. Conclusions All the malaria cases in Chongqing in 2015 are imported,no lo-cal cases have been found, which suggests that this municipality still maintain the malaria elimination state. However, the moni-toring and management of imported malaria cases as well as the training on malaria control for related medical staff still need to be strengthened.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of behavior training on the expression of NR2B around the infarcted focus and in the cortex of temporal lobe in rats with bilateral hippocampal infarction.Methods54 SD rats were randomized into pre-training, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d after training groups, pre-immobilization, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d immobilization groups and control group. Behavior training and immobilization were performed on the 3rd day after the infarction. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of NR2B around the infarcted focus and in the cortex of temporal lobe at different points of time.ResultsThe expression of NR2B was abundant in the normal hippocampus and cortex of temporal lobe of rats. The expression of NR2B decreased after infarction and increased after behavior training. However, the expression of NR2B had little increased in immobilization groups, and showed significant difference compared with that in behavior training groups (P<0.01).ConclusionBehavior training can accelerate the expression of NR2B around the infarcted focus and in the cortex of temporal lobe in rats with bilateral hippocampal infarction.

Abstract: Objective To analyze the nucleic acid detection results of severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) by droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) and compare with the detection results of real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR), so as to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of detection, and to provide data support for optimizing the nucleic acid detection scheme of SARS-CoV-2. Methods According to the SARS-CoV-2 specific primer probe published by the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a ddPCR detection method for SARS-CoV-2 was designed. One sample was selected for sensitivity test after gradient dilution; six respiratory virus nucleic acid positive samples including seasonal H3N2 influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 positive samples were selected for specificity test; five SARS-CoV-2 positive samples were selected for repeatability test; in addition, 30 positive and 20 negative SARS-CoV-2 samples were selected for multiple clinical samples testing, and the results were analyzed and compared with those of qRT-PCR. Results The ddPCR method can specifically detect SARS-CoV-2, and directly obtain the original copy number of the sample target gene to achieve accurate quantification; the sensitivity test of gradient dilution positive samples showed that qRT-PCR detected target genes in part of the 10-5 dilution of samples, and no target genes were detected in 10-6 dilution, while ddPCR detected all target genes in both 10-5 and 10-6 dilution of samples. The detection limit of ddPCR was two orders of magnitude higher than that of qRT-PCR, and the sensitivity was higher than that of qRT-PCR; in the comparison of the repeatability test results of the two methods, the coefficient of variation of ddPCR was 1.266%-11.814%, lower than 1.729%-26.174% of qRT PCR, and the repeatability was higher than qRT-PCR; among 50 clinical samples, 30 positive samples of confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) were detected by both methods, SARS-CoV-2 was successfully detected by both methods, and 20 negative samples of COVID-19 were detected by both methods, and the results were negative, with a coincidence rate of 100.00% (50/50). Conclusion The ddPCR method can accurately quantify SARS-CoV-2 with strong specificity, and its sensitivity and repeatability are higher than those of qRT-PCR, but it also has certain detection limitations and is more suitable for the detection of low load samples. In the actual detection, the two methods can be reasonably combined to improve the detection accuracy.

Objective To observe the influence of long-term treatment with inhaled corticosteroid on biochemical bone indexes and bone mineral density (BMD) in children with asthma. Methods The design was a randomized, paralleled group study with 3 low dose regiments of 100, 200,300 micrograms of budesonide per day in 45 children with asthma aged 5-8 years old for 12 months. Before inhaled corticosteroid therapy and 6th,12th month, clinical effects were observed and lung function(FEV1) was measured; concentration of serum osteocalcin(OST),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),bony alkaline phosphatase (BALP) and urinary deoxypyridinolin: creatinine (DPD/Cr) were measured; BMD was examined by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Results Clinical evaluation was improved and there was significant increase in FEV1 of asthmatic children. The amount of serum OST was slightly higher, yet no significant compared with that of normal control group. There was significant increase of serum BALP in asthmatic children after treatment; there was significant increase in serum IGF-1 of patients group after treatment compared with in normal children at the same age group; there was significant decrease in urinary DPD/Cr after treatment. There was no significant decrease in BMD before and after treatment at the hip (neck of femur , trochanter of femur ,Ward′s triangle),the lumber area of the spine (L2-4) and forearm (ultradis, distal). Conclusion Long-term treatment with low does corticosteroid dose not restrictedly affect bone metabolism and BMD in children with asthma.

Objective To investigate the effects of exendin-4 (exenatide) on insulin sensitivity and adipocytokine in high-fat-fed rats. Methods Rats were divided randomly into normal-chow group (NC), high-fat group (HF) and high-fat+exendin treated group (HE). HE rats were given exenatide (2 μg/kg) twice daily for 6 wk. The insulin sensitivity was evaluated by intravenous insulin tolerance test (IVITT). Insulin-stimulated changes in insulin signal transduction, visfatin and adiponectin mRNA expressions as well as their plasma levels were also observed in these rats. Results Plasma free fatty acids (FFA), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC) levels were significantly reduced after exenatide treatment (in HE rats all P<0.01). And IVITT parameters were also improved in these rats. Insulin-stimulated IRS-1 tyrosine phosphorylation was slightly increased in exenatide-treated rats as compared with HF rats (P<0.05). In addition, plasma visfatin level was significantly reduced in HF and HE groups as compared with controls (P<0.05 and P<0.01). The adiponectin mRNA expression in adipose tissues and circulating adiponectin level were significantly elevated in exenatide-treated rats as compared with untreated rats and controls (P<0.01). Conclusions Chronic exenatide treatment improves insulin resistance in high-fat-fed rats, and the changes of IRS-1 tyrosine phosphorylation and adiponectin may be related to the role of exenatide in elevating insulin sensitivity

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the influence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) prevention and control measures on the transmission and epidemic of influenza in Chongqing, so as to provide references for formulating targeted influenza prevention and control strategies. Methods The influenza surveillance data, during the year 2018 to 2020, were collected through the "China Influenza Surveillance Information System", and the seasonal characteristics of influenza epidemic were analyzed. The percentage of influenza like cases (ILI%) and influenza virus positive rate between 2020 and 2018-2019 were compared, so as to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 prevention and control measures on influenza epidemic characteristics. Results The annual proportions of ILI cases in Chongqing were respectively 3.53%, 2.23% and 1.2% from 2018 to 2020, while the positive rates of influenza virus were respectively 13.97%, 23.81% and 2.65%. The distribution trend of ILI% from 2018 to 2019 fluctuated were similar, but it continued to drop and remain at a low level since February 2020. The positive rate of influenza virus showed an epidemic peak from December to March in 2018-2019, also peaked from November 2019 to January 2020, but decreased to 0 in March. ILI% was positively correlated with the positive rate of influenza virus (r=0.404 8, P<0.05). In 2020, compared with the same period of 2018-2019, the growth rate of ILI% was -66.09% and -46.32%, respectively. The positive rate of influenza virus in 2020 decreased by 81.03% and 88.87% compared with the same period of 2018-2019, respectively. The growth rates of influenza virus positive rate in January 2020 were decreased with a small rate of about 39.87%, and with a significantly decline of more than 93.65% from February. No influenza epidemic was found after March. Conclusions Since COVID-19 prevention and control measures were implemented in January 2020 in Chongqing, the ILI% and the positive rate of influenza virus in sentinel hospitals decreased significantly. In the season of high incidence of respiratory infectious diseases, personal protection and other measures can effectively reduce influenza virus infection.

Journal of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2016;32(4):305-307
To explore the compatibility characteristics of herbs used for nourishing yin in formulas of kidney-yang tonifica-tion.It is noticed that the appearance frequency of such herbs for yin nourishment as Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata,Rhizoma Dioscoreae,Fructus Corni and Fructus Lycii comes out on the top.Either the dosage ratio or the number of herbs of yin nour-ishment in the modern formulas for tonifying kidney yang is evidently increased than that of the ancient formulas, with the ap-plication scope being expanded.Hence,it is believed that compatibility of herbs for nourishing yin in formulas of kidney-yang tonification has become a major compatibility form in the clinical practice. When deficiency of kidney essence is obvious, the dosage of herbs for nourishing yin should be increased. While when the internal generation of deficient cold takes a dominant place, the dosage should be decreased, which is able to provide a reference for the reasonable application of formulas for kidney-yang tonification in clinical practice.
