1.Therapeutic effect of oat ?-glucans on serum lipid levels of rats with experimental hyperlipemia
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1985;0(05):-
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of oat ?-glucans on serum lipid levels of rats with experimental hyperlipemia. Methods: Rats were fed on high fat forage for 3 weeks to establish hyperlipemia models, then the model rats were orally given oat ?-glucans at doses of 133,266 and 533 mg/(kg?d) separately. At the same time, there were 3 control groups including chitosan ligosaccharide[200 mg/(kg?d)],normal,and high blood lipid(model rats fed with distilled water).Serum levels of total cholesterol(TC),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) were assayed in rats of all groups and the results were compared. Results: ?-glucans obviously decreased the levels of TC and LDL-C and increased HDL-C in rat hyperlipemia models. The reduction of serum lipid level in 4-week ?-glucans treatment rats was more obvious than that in 3-week ?-glucans treatment rats.Besides,?-glucans showed an obvious dosage dependent effect in reducing serum lipid level without adverse effect.Oat ?-glucans had a better lipid-reducing effect than ligosaccharide did. Conclusion: Oat ?-glucans can obviously decrease serum lipid in rats with hyperlipemia.

Objective: To study the effect and possible mechanism of Ginsenoside Rg1 in sports CNS fatigue and dose-response relationship. Methods: Kun Ming male mice were divided randomly into 6 groups: control group and five different doses groups(5,10,20,40,80 mg/kg).They were treated orally with Ginsenoside Rg1 for 2 weeks. The levels of amino acids of brain tissue were tested after swimming for 90 min and the exhaustive swimming time were recorded. Results: The levels of BCAA and the ratio of BCAA/AAA in groups 5,10 and 20 mg/kg were significantly higher than control group and the levels of AAA in groups 5,10,20 and 40 mg/kg were significantly decreased. The exhaustive swimming time in groups 5,10 and 20 mg/kg were much longer than in control group. Conclusion: Through adjusting the ratio of BCAA and AAA and decreasing the level of excitatory amino acids neurotransmitter,Ginsenoside Rg1 can elevate movement ability and resist against CNS fatigue. The roles of mid-low and low doses may be better.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of oat ?-glucans on liver injury in hyperlipemia rats.Method Rats were fed on high fat forage for 3 w to establish hepatic injury model, then the model group was orally given oat ?-glucans at doses of 133,266 and 533 mg/(kg bw.d) respectively. At the same time, there were 3 control groups including 200 mg/(kg bw.d) chitosan oligosaccharide, normal and liver injury(model group fed with distilled water).Serum levels of ALT and AST,the content of MDA in serum and liver homogenate was assayed. Results Oat ?-glucans at high dose obviously decreased the levels of ALT,AST and MDA in the liver injury models,SP had a better protective effect on the liver injury than oligosaccharide did.Besides,in the treated group with ?-glucans,degenerative and necrotic changes of the liver cells were apparently milder than those of the untreated group. Conclusion Oat ?-glucans can obviously relieve the liver injury in hyperlipemia rats.

ObjectiveTo explore the prevalence and clinical features of hyperuricemia and its influencing factors in elderly male people aged 90 years and above. MethodsOne hundred elderly male people aged 90 years and above who underwent routine health examination in our hospital in 2007 were selected in the study. Serum uric acid level was examined by uricase-peroxidase method, and all patients were divided into hyperuricemia group and control group according to the serum uric acid level. Clinical and biochemical indications were compared between the two groups, and logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of hyperuricemia in elderly people. ResultsThe serum uric acid level was increased in 20% of the elderly people, and the prevalence of gouty arthritis was 1%. The levels of blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine were higher in hyperuricemia group than in control group[(10. 98±4.29) mmol/L vs. (6. 87± 1.86) mmol/L, (125.2±25.9)μmol/L vs. (93. 4±19. 8)μmol/L;both P<0.05)3. The patients in hyperuricemia group had a higher prevalence of hypertension and hypertriglyceridemia, and a higher proportion of diuretic application than patients in control group(P<0. 05). Logistic regression analysis showed that serum uric acid level had the most remarkable correlation with serum creatinine(OR= 1. 969), followed by fasting blood glucose (OR= 1. 310)and blood urea nitrogen(OR = 1.161). There was negative correlation between serum uric acid level and plasma cholesterol level(OR = 0. 802). ConclusionsThe prevalence of hyperuricemia is high in elderly people aged 90 years and above, while the incidence of gouty arthritis is low. Renal function impairment, metabolic syndrome and thiazide diuretic are the major factors for hyperuricemia.

One of the main mechanisms of tumorigenesis and development is silencing of the patient's immune response to cancer-specific antigens. The defect of cancer immune surveillance may occur at any stage of tumor progression. In the tumor micro-environment,the abnormal expression of the immune checkpoint molecules that have an activation or inhibition effect on T lymphocytes can cause immune tolerance or escape of tumor cells.Targeted immune checkpoint molecules such as PD-1(programmed cell death protein 1)and its ligand PD-L1,have been shown to be new directions for the treatment of many types of cancer.microRNAs(miR-NAs)play an important role in tumor microenvironment.Studies have shown that miRNAs are highly expressed in some tumors and play an important role in immune response, especially in early regulation. Therefore,miRNAs may be ideal candidates for the regula-tion of immune checkpoints in cancer therapy. The abnormal expression of multiple miRNAs in cancer cells provides new opportunities for cancer therapy, but the exact function of these miRNAs and their interaction with immune checkpoints are still in the exploratory phase. This review summarizes the recent findings regarding the use of miRNAs as molecular regulators of immune checkpoints and their potential applications in the treatment of cancer in clinical practice.
