The authors evaluated ultrasonographic findings of 12 cases in thirty lymphangiomas which were provenpathologically or surgically at Wonju christian hospital fram Aug. 1978 to Apr. 1985. The results were as follows:1. The age distribution was 16 cases in first decade, 7 cases in 2nd decade, 2 cases in 3rd decade, 3 cases in 4thdecade, 2 cases in 7th decade. 2. The male to female ratio was 14:16. 3. The location of lymphangiomas were 14cases in head & neck, 8 cases in extrimity, 4 cases in back & chest, 4 cases in abdomen, and 1 case in scrotum. 4.The size of lymphangioma were variable, (2-20cm). 5. Ultrasonographic findings in 12 cases of lymphangioma werehypoechoic (12), eliptical(11), internal septation (8), and internal hyperechoic component(3).

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1995;32(5):757-761
PURPOSE: The accuracy of CT in the detection of injuries of the solid visceral organ is well established, but the value of CT in diagnosing small bowel rupture after abdominal trauma is controversal. This study was conducted to ascertain CT finding of small bowel rupture result from abdominal trauma. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of preoperative abdominal CT findings in 40 patients was performed. Small bowel rupture was confirmed by surgery. Precontrast and postcontrast enhanced CT images were obtained in all patients. RESULTS: Diagnostic findings of small bowel rupture including pneumoperitoneum or retroperitoneal air, discontinuity of the bowel wall and extravasation of oral contrast materials were observed in 33 cases(83%). Intraperitoneal or retroperitoneal free air was seen in 31 cases(78%) and intraperitoneal or retroperitoneal free fluid collection was seen in 38 patients(95%). Small bowel wall was thickened in 31 cases(78%), bowel wall was enhanced in 12 cases(30%) and bowel wall discontinuity and extravasation of oral contrast material was seen in 5 cases, respectively. CONCLUSION: The CT scan is sensitive and effective modality for evaluation of small bowel rupture after abdominal trauma, because of high detectability of diagnostic and suggestive CT findings.

Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow 2015;18(1):36-42
BACKGROUND: Repair of superior labral anterior to posterior (SLAP) lesion in patients older than 40 years is controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinical outcomes of arthroscopic repair of SLAP lesions between younger and older patient groups. METHODS: We reviewed 50 patients with isolated type II SLAP lesions who underwent arthroscopic repair. Patients were divided into 2 groups: group 1 included 20 patients aged <40 years, and group 2 included 30 patients aged > or =40 years. Functional outcome at the final follow-up was assessed using a visual analog scale for pain and satisfaction, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons form, Constant score, University of California at Los Angeles score, and periodic change in range of motion (ROM). Anatomical outcome was evaluated using computed tomography (CT) arthrography at least 1 year after surgery. RESULTS: No significant differences in functional scores or postoperative ROM were observed between the 2 groups. In group 2, later recovery of ROM (forward flexion, p=0.025; internal rotation, p=0.034) and lower satisfaction score (p=0.06) were observed for atraumatic patients (n=16) compared to patients with traumatic injury (n=14). Fifteen patients in group 1 (15/17, 88%) and 21 patients in group 2 (21/26, 81%) demonstrated a healed labrum on postoperative CT arthrography, and this difference was not significant. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study suggest that arthroscopic repair of type II SLAP lesions can yield good functional and anatomical outcomes regardless of age, if patient selection is adequate. However, the delay in ROM recovery and lower satisfaction, particularly in older patients without traumatic injury, should be considered.

We present at least a one-year follow up of the 19 patients(twenty-two hands) of a open release of carpal ligament and external neurolysis in surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. The transverse carpal ligament is exposed through a three centimeter paJmar incision in line with the axis of the third finger, started at the mid-point of the distal wrist crease and then straightly advanced. We analysed clinical manifestations and the following results were obtained; The average follow-up period was 27 months (12 - 120months). 1. According to the patients satisfaction of results(Cseuz criteria), the large majority of patients(91%) obtained good results. In 9% of the case (two hands) symptoms were siightly improved followed the operation but pain, numbness and paresthesia remained troublesome. 2. The mean grip and pinch strength of the fifteen hands were 23.4kg and 5.97kg respectively. 3. Thirteen(87%) of the fifteen hands that had thenar atrophy regained normal muscle bulk. 4. Six(50%) of the twelve hands that had denervation findings such as fibrillation or sharp wave were disappeared. 5. Twenty(91%) of the twenty-two hands that had increased values for two-point discrimination had normal values at follow-up.
