Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1999;40(2):532-537
The commonly used tests for stereopsis are Titmus-fly, Randot, and TNO tests. In this study, 50 normal subjects were tested with these tests in order to set a criterion for normal stereopsis. The value of mean, mode and 75% point of these three tests were derived and compared. These three tests were also performed in 23 intermittent exotropes and 32 accommodative esotropes who showed gross stereopsis in the range of 60 to 400 seconds of arc by Titmus-fly testing. The aim was to obtain standards for clinical applicability and accuracy of these tests. This study cincludes that the appropriate criteria for normal stereopsis are less than 60 seconds of arc for Titmus-fly or Randot test, and 120 seconds of arc fot TNO test. Accurate testing for stereopsis in patients with gross stereopsis requires both Titmus-fly and Randot tests together. TNO test was inferior to the other two tests in terms of the accuracy and clinical applicability.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1993;29(2):236-238
We decribe the CT findings in a case of mediastinal hemangioma. Precontrast enhanced CT demonstrated a homogeneous soft tissue mass with weveral nodular calcifications indicating phleboliths. Contrast enhanced CT revealed some areas of enhancement similar to that of adjacent vascular structures. Hemangiomas of the mediastinum, although rare, should be included in the differential diagnosis of enhancing mediastinal masses.

The basis of surgical treatment of spondylolisthesis lies in the restoration of stability to the unstable spine and the decompression of the entrapped nerve root. Knodt's distraction rod has been thought to be one of effective distraction instruments promoting fusion for lumbar spine surgery. From December 1981 to May 1987, we performed surgical treatment of spondylolisthesis with Knodt's distraction rod instrumentation in 15 patients (Group I ) and fusion in situ in 7 patients (Group II ). Clinical analysis and changes of radiographic measurements of above two methods were evaluated and obtained following results. l. In Group I, the percentage slip and slip angle decreased to 12.1 ±6.3% and 0.2 ±6.6°, postoperatively, from 20.9 ±8.4% and 7.5 ±5.6°, respectively. In Group II, changed from 13.4 ±9.4%, 7.8 ±6.1°to 11.4 ±9.6%, 11.0 ±5.2°, respectively. 2. In Group I, the average reduction rate was 42.1% postoperatively, but decreased to 20.5% at follow-up. 3. The percentage posterior disc height increased to 49.0 ±6.7% postoperatively, from 27.4 ±10.0% in Group I and decreased to 34.7 ±5.3% at follow-up. But, in Group II, no significant changes observed. 4. The lumbar lordosis in Group I and Group II, decreased to 26.0 ±8.3°and 29.8 ±13.8°, postoperatively, from 35.5 ±7.8°and 37.6 ±1.4°, respectively. 5. There was no significant difference in clinical results between two groups. 6. Postoperstive complications in Group I, were one case of rod breakage with pseudarthrosis, 3 cases of voiding difficulty and superficial wound infection, in Group II, were 2 cases of superficial wound infection and 3 cases of transient voiding diffeculty.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1993;29(2):262-267
The authors retrospectively reviewed the efficacy of percutaneous catheter drainage in treatment of abdominal abscess associated with fistulas. One hundred sixty four consecutive patients with abdominal abscesses drained percutaneously since 1985 at department of Radiology, Wonkwang University Hospital were studied. Among these, 13 patients were found to have fistulous communications to the biliary duct, the intestinal tract, or the renal calyx. Eleven patients (85%) were successfully treated without surgical intervention while two patients (15%) needed surgical drainage and fistulectomy. The duration of drainage ranged from 7 days to 9 months. Initial drainage of abdominal abscess was performed in the hospital, but 5 of 13 patients were discharged with a tube in place and were followed up as outpatients. In conclusion, percutaneous catheter drainage is an effective and safe means of treating abdominal abscesses with fistulas.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 2002;20(4):397-400
A 67-year-old man, with a history of pontine hemorrhage, was admitted because of ocular tremors. Also, tremors in the right upper limb and palates were detected. Oculopalatine tremors showed synchronous vertical oscillations and the limb showed midbrain tremor. Brain MRI revealed high signal intensities of both inferior olivary nuclei and right superior cerebellar peduncle. Electromyogram showed different tremor frequencies in the oculopalate and limb. Clinical, MRI and electromyographic findings indicate that the origins of oculopalatine and limb tremors are different.

Percutaneous catheter drainage of pancreatic pseudocyst is an effective and safe method of treatment. Various approaches to the pseudocyst have been used. We experienced one case of successful treatment of pancreatic pseudocyst with percutaneous catheter drainage through the kidney without complication.
