Effect of Enoxacin (Flumark), an oral pyridone carboxylic acid, in the urinary tract infection was evaluated clinically and susceptibility of 292 strains of microorganism isolated from urine to the various antimicrobial agents was tested and compared. Thirty six patients with urinary tract infection were given with 300 to 600mg of Enoxacin daily for 7 to 14 days according to severity of urinary tract infection. The clinical symptoms and urinary findings improved in 30 patients (83.3%) and no clinical response was achieved in 6 patients (16.7%), but revealing 100% response in 9 patients of acute uncomplicated cystitis. In the antimicrobial susceptibility test, Enoxacin was much superior to aminoglycoside, especially against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Serratia spp., Enterobacter spp. and other Pseudomonas spp.. Enoxacin is a very effective and safe antimicrobial agent in treatment of the urinary tract infection.

Annals of Dermatology 2003;15(3):122-124
Pigmented neurofibroma, a variant of neurofibroma, has rarely been observed in patients with or without neurofibromatosis. Pigmented neurofibroma is characterized histologically by the coexistence of scattered melanin-laden cells and benign spindle cells with neural differentiation. We report a case of pigmented neurofibroma in a 22-year-old female patient.

This study helps to clarify conflicting reports by comparing the physical properties and accuracy of complete denture processed by the pack and press technique, continuous-pressure injection technique(SR-Ivocap system) and Mark press technique. The 6 different specimens have been evaluated using the SEM, Impact test, DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and DMTA(Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis). Each sample was made of SR-Ivocap resin and QC-20 resin by different processing methods. The results were as follows ; 1. As the result of the observation on the fracture surface of resin by use of SEM, sample SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method showed the most homogeneous structure. This is why molecules in SR-Ivocap resin have no orientation. 2. As the result of the Impact test in order to measure the deformity, fracture energy and impact resistance of resin, the samples with QC-20 acrylic resin and SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method were exellent. 3. In consequence of measuring alpha-glass transition temperature by use of DSC on the basis of temperature change, the glass transition temperatures of sample QC-20 resin cured by pack and press method and sample SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method were very similar. Thus volumetric stability could not be evaluated only by glass transition temperature. 4. In comparing volumetric stability data by DMTA, the glass transition temperature(Tg) showed 137.88degrees C at sample QC-20 resin cured by pack and press method and 139.78degrees C at sample SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method. Therefore sample SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method seems to be superior to sample QC-20 resin cured by pack and press method in the dimensional stability at high temperature. 5. In comparing storage modulus data by DMTA, the storage modulus of sample SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method was higher than that of sample QC-20 resin cured by pack and press method. So, sample SR-Ivocap resin cured by continuous pressure injection method seems to be superior to sample QC-20 resin cured by pack and press method in impact strength.

Diabetic and nondiabetic vascular diseases cause significant foot problems and it frequently progress to osteomyelitis and amputation. Advances in vascular surgical techniques, including distal arterial bypass via synthetic grafts or autogenous vein grafting have opened the way for higher rate of limb salvage. We have experienced patients with ischemic vascular foot disease and combined skin ulceration and varing degree of soft tissue defect. In three patient with major vessel obstruction, we could preserve limb and avoid major amputation using greater saphenous vein graft with or without microvascular free tissue transfer.

Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1997;33(1):167-171
We managed three cases of anesthesia for living related liver transplantation from December 1994 to July 1995. Donors were recipient's parents and two of them were 35-year old man, the other was 25-year-old woman. The recipients were suffered from congenital liver diseases (two of them were diagnosed as biliary atresia and the other Byler's disease). They had presented severe jaundice and cholangitis and their mean age & body weight were 15 +/- 4.9 months and 8.6 +/- 1.22 kg, respectively. Average duration of anesthesia was about 15 hours, and anhepatic time was 140 minutes, 80 m inutes and 50 minutes, respectively. Careful attention was paid to body temperature, serum potassium, ionized calcium, blood coagulation function, as well as to general condition and respiratory function. Hemodynamic value was relatively stable through out the operation and postoperative mechanical ventilatory support was required for about 3 days.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(6):734-744
In our investigation, various immunologic aspects of 129 patients with complete and incomplete type of Behcet's syndrome were taken under consideration : quantitation of total T-cells by E-rosette method and B-cells by EAC-rosette method, helper/inducer T and suppressor/cytotoxic T-cells by monoclonal antibody technique(OKT4, OKT8), lymphocyte transformation test with PHA, quantitation of serum r-globulin by electro phoresis and quantitations of serum IgG, IgA, IgM, C3, C4 by immunodiffusion. From the results, the cell mediated immunity in Behcet's syndrome is not influenced by the number of patterns of four major symptoms or the activity of each major symptom at the time of test. However the humoral immunity is considered to be influenced by the above parameters.
