Cutaneous metastasis from parotid gland carcinoma is very rare and there have been no re-ports in Korean literatures. Furthermore, it can often manifest as inflammatory type of skin metastasis and mimic a radiodermatitis. We report a case of a 31-year-old Korean man with cutaneous metastasis originated from parotid gland mucoepidermoid carcoinoma which mimicked clinically a radiodermatitis.

Forearm bone fracture is a common injury in childhood. But there are many difficult problem to solve in treatment of the forearm bone fractures which are not encountered in the treatment of fracture of the other long bone. Forearm bone fracture in children differ from those in adult in a number of ways. The rapidity of healing, fuctional recovery together with the frequency of delayed or nonunion consitute the main features. More interesting, a deformity resulting from malunion may correct as bone growth proceeds. From August, 1973 to July, 1983, we have reviewed 66 cases of forearm bone fractures under 14 year old and which were treated in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Hanyang University Hospital. The results were as follows:1. 56 cases(84.8%) were male and most cases occured in school age. 2. 40 cases(60.7%) were both forearm bone fractures and most common site of the fracture was the distal 1/3. 3. The most common cause of the fractures was falling from height. Simple fracture was most common and greenstick fracture was next. Closed fractures were 61 cases (92.4%) and open fractures were 5 cases (7.6%) . 4. In roentgenologically, the younger the child was, the more rapid the duration of bone union was. Average duration of roentgenological union in conservative group was 8. 1 weeks, and that in operative group was 10. 1 weeks. So conservative group was more rapid in roentgenological bone union than operative group. 5. Accarding to the follow study of remodelling, the young the child and the nearer the fracture line was to the epiphyseal plate, the greater the potentialities for spontaneous correction were. 6. 62 cases (94.0%) showed excellent fuctionat result. According to 4 cases (6.0%) which showed good fuctional result, posterior angulation 17 degree, anterior angulation 15 degree and medial angulation 17 degree after reduction became more than 10 degree after remodelling.

Phototherapy with UVB has become a cornerstone in treating uremic pruritus. To investigate the additional benefit of emollient, we performed emollien-phototherapy in six uremic pruritus patients on hemodialysis, one of which was not responding with UVB only. After applying mineral oil over the whole body, UVB phototh.rapy was performed two to three times weekly. Improvement was noted within one to three treatments and after three to ten treatments, pruritus markedly or totally disappeared in al six patients. This result suggests that emollient-phototherapy is as effective as, or in some patients, more effective than phototherapy with UVB only in managing uemic pruritus.

Almost every Korean (97%) is enrolled in the National Health Insurance program, and most receive medical treatment at least once a year. Data are collected by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA), and the results of the review are sent to the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS). The data handled by NHIS and HIRA cover almost the entire population and can be used for various research purposes. NHIS and HIRA support research by making these data available to researchers. The greatest advantage of these data is that they are the only data which include virtually the entire population. Both HIRA and NHIS data are provided in the form of sample data and all (customized) data. NHIS and HIRA data are similar but exhibit minor differences. HIRA data consists of five tables, including general specification details, in-hospital treatment details, disease details, out-of-hospital prescription details, and nursing institution information. NHIS data include death records (including cause of death), some medical examination records, and the socio-economic variables of the subject, such as income, in addition to all the HIRA data. Clinical results of treatments are not recorded in NHIS or HIRA. However, because public data are used for billing purposes, actual research has thus far been limited. Therefore, researchers must develop a study design that can minimize the errors or bias occurring during the course of the study. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly understand the structure and characteristics of NHIS and HIRA data when initiating research.

Partial anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR) is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly that can be difficult to detect and often remains undiagnosed. PAPVR is diagnosed using non-invasive imaging techniques such as echocardiography, CT, and MRI. Image data are reviewed on a 2-dimensional (D) monitor, which may not facilitate a good understanding of the complex 3D heart structure. In recent years, 3D printing technology, which allows the creation of physical cardiac models using source image datasets obtained from cardiac CT or MRI, has been increasingly used in the medical field. We report a case involving a 3D-printed model of PAPVR with a biatrial connection. This model demonstrated separate drainages of the right upper and middle pulmonary veins into the lower superior vena cava (SVC) and the junction between the SVC and the right atrium, respectively, with biatrial communication through the right middle pulmonary vein.

Cutaneous pseudolymphoma (CPL) has a microscopic appearance that resembles that of cutaneous lymphoma, but shows a clinically benign course. The differential diagnosis of CPL with cutaneous lymphoma is very important because clinical outcomes of them are quite different. We herein describe two cases of B-cell pseudolymphoma, which were difficult to differentiate from cutaneous B-cell lymphlma. All of two cases, Polymerase chain reaction of immunoglobulin heavy chain gene rearrangement showed polyclonal pattern.

We report a case of sarcoidosis in a 4-year-old girl. She showed the involvements of the skin and eye, which are the characteristics of sarcoidosis in very young patients, and also showed an unusual finding of hepatosplenomegaly. Because the diagnosis of childhood sarcoidosis is difficult and serious sequelae can develop from sarcoidal uveitis, an early skin biopsy and regular ophthalmologic assessment are essential.

Cutaneous mesenchymal hamartoma (CMH) is a very rare disease which most often presents itself at birth and is composed of collagen fibers, immature fibroblasts, fat cells, blood vessels, and mast cells. Until recently, only two cases have been reported. Thus, the clinical and histopathological findings have been unsettled. We describe three cases of cutaneous mesenchymal hamartoma with different clinical findings, discuss its pathogenesis, and suggest that CMH is a distinct disease entity.
