Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(3):371-375
Although a number of remedies like corticosteroids, retinoids, griseofulvin, PUVA, cyclosporine, antibiotics, dapsone, cyclophosphamide, surgery, methotrexate, radiation therapy, antimalarial drugs, psychotharapy and psychiatric medications have been used to treat lichen planus, there were no specific methods until now. We report herein an interesting case of lichen planus in which complete healing was achieved by griseofulvin administration. The patient was a 54-year-old male who for 3 months had variouly sized and shaped, flat-topped, scaly, violaceous papules and plaques on the whole of his body. We confirmed the patients disease as lichen planus by a histopathologic examination of a skin biopsy specimen and gave him 500mg ultramicronized griseofulvin daily in divided dosages. After 12 weeks of the medication nearly all of the skin lesions were regressed, and by 14 weeks all skin lesions had disappeared leaving hyperpigmentation. Up to now, l9 months after discontinuation of the medication, no recurrence of the disease has been noted.

Korean Journal of Schizophrenia Research 2013;16(2):98-106
OBJECTIVES: It has been constantly reported that mismatch negativity (MMN) is impaired in patients with schizophrenia. However, the mechanism which relates impaired MMN and schizophrenia is not clear yet. The aim of this study is to investigate the association between MMN and clinical variables including functional status in patients with schizophrenia. METHODS: The present study assessed MMN using passive auditory oddball task in 26 patients with schizophrenia and 48 healthy controls. Repeated measures Analysis of Variance with age as a covariate was carried out for comparing peak amplitude and latency of MMN at 8 central line electrodes (FPz, Fz, FCz, Cz, CPz, Pz, POz, Oz) across groups. Pearson's correlation was performed to reveal the relationship between MMN and clinical variables including neurocognitive test results and the Global Assessment of Functioning score. RESULTS: MMN amplitude was significantly reduced in patients with schizophrenia compared with healthy controls. Pearson's correlation showed that subsets of short form of Korean Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale scores and GAF scores were associated with MMN amplitude in patients with schizophrenia. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that MMN amplitude is associated with current functional status including cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia.

Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1980;13(1):66-69
A 67 year old male patients was anesthetized with halothane for a open reduction of the fractured right femur shaft. The patient was admitted to the emergency room after he had cerebra1 contusion and fracture of the femoral shaft by a traffic, accident. Anesthesia was continued for one and a, half hours without any problem. At around one and a half hours of anesthesia, the patient developed cardiac arrest and resuscitation was performed immediately. The patient's life was saved by resuscitation and the operation was completed without any further problem. At the time of the resuscitation, a tension pneumothorax was recognized but anesthesia was continued with immediate, proper management. Closed thoracotomy was performed at the recovery room after anesthesia and the patient recovered from anesthesia without any other problem.
