Journal of the Korean Knee Society 1998;10(1):83-87
The etiology of spontaneous hemarthrosis of the knee joint in elderly pattents is still unknown. This report discusses seven spontaneous hernarthroses, three that were managed witla conservative measures such as aspiration, rest and knee immobilization because of poor general condition and four in which arthroscopic evaluation and treatment were performed. These patients were elderly indi.viduals without an obvious history of trauma. The roentgenograms of each involved knee demonstrated degenerative osteoarthritic changes of knee joint. Arthroscopic examination revealed denuded articular cartilage and subchondral bone exposure in four operative cases and degenerative meniscal tear in one case of four. These patients underwent mthroscopic debridement and did not experience recurrenees of the hemarthrosis. We think that the origin of the bleeding was most likely from the subchondral cancellous bone which was exposed due to degenerative change of the knee joint and the senile changes of the vessels around the knee joint with aging process may contribute the spontaneous bleeding into the knee joints.

Tracheopathia osteoplastica is a rare, benign pathologic condition chahacterized the occurrence of numerous cartilage and bony nodules within the tissue of mucosa. We report a case of tracheopathia osteoplastica that involved both larynx and trachea. The patient was 73 years old male and had hoarseness. The neck CT showed thickened and irregular wall of the trachea extending to the level of the carina with multiple calcified nodules and plaques of bony density projecting into the lumen.

Journal of the Korean Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry 2020;31(4):177-184
Objectives:
This study aims to examine the effect of adolescent suicide survivors’ experience on suicide death risk, and the effect of referral to mental health services (hereafter referral) in this regard.
Methods:
This study used the data of 878 suicide-deceased and suicide-attempted adolescents aged 8–19 years, managed by the Suicide and School Mental Health Institute from 2016 to 2018.
Results:
Regression analysis for main effects showed that although suicide experience had no direct effect on suicide death, non-referral status was associated with a greater risk of death by suicide. While the “non-suicide survivor with non-referral” and “suicide survivor with non-referral” groups showed 1.87 [adjusted odds ratio=1.87, 95% confidence interval (CI)=1.21–2.89] and 4.59 (adjusted odds ratio= 4.59, 95% CI=2.02–10.42) times higher odds of suicide death, respectively, the “suicide survivor with referral” group showed no difference compared to the “non-suicide survivor with referral” group.
Conclusion
From these findings, there is a need to strengthen referral to mental health services and apply complicated grief treatment to improve the mental health of adolescent suicide survivors.
8.Clinical observation on renal injury: 66 cases.
Korean Journal of Urology 1992;33(5):857-862
The clinical observations were made on 66 patients of renal injuries during the period from 1985 to 1991) The results were as follows: I. The renal injuries were classified as contusion, laceration, rupture, pedicle injury according to Cass and Luxenberg`s classification. The patient numbers of each group were 42 (63.6%), 11 (16.3%).11 (16.3%) and 2 (3%). 2. The sonography was useful by complementary diagnostic tool of excretory urography in major renal injuries. 3. The computerized tomography was useful in diagnosing combined injuries and detecting injuries which were not detected in excretory pyelography. 4. The treatment of many. major renal injuries could be done conservatively with detailed and accurate diagnosis using computerized tomography.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1981;22(2):345-350
This study is based on the results of cryo-extraction of the lens in 123 eyes(98 cases) which were operated in Chosun University Hospital between Jan. 1979 and Feb. 1981. The results are summarized as follow: 1. The cryo-extraction have been done for 41 males and 57 females of the 98 patients. 2. The incidences of complication during operation were capsule rupture (5.7%), vitreous loss (4.9%), iris prolapse (1.6%). 3. The incidences of early postoperative complication were hyphema (12.1%). updra wn pupil (8.9%), corneal edema (6.5%), flat anterior chamber (4.9%). 4. The incidences of late postoperative complication were vitreous bulging (5.7%), vitreous opacity (4%), glaucoma(2.4%), uveitis (0.8%), retinal detachment (0.8%). 5. The ccrrected visual acuities before discharge of hospital were: more than 0.5 ... 39.0% (48 eyes), 0.1-0.4 ... 48.8% (60 eyes), less than 0.1 ... 12.2% (15 eyes). 6. The major causes of visual acuity less than 0.1 were vitreous opacity (33.4%), secondary glaucoma (20%), proliferative diabetic retinopathy (20%), corneal opacity (13.4%), retinal degeneration (13.3%).
