Undifferentiated sarcoma of the liver is a highly malignant neoplasm that occurs almost exclusively in children. We present a case of adult undifferentiated sarcoma in a 33-year-old man. The neoplasm was typically hypovascular on hepatic angiography and a globular, cystic and mucoid mass separated from the adjacent liver by a psedocapsule was removed from the left lobe of the liver. Necrosis and hemorrhage were found. Microscopically the neoplasm consisted of myxoid and cellular areas and the basic neoplastic cells were stellate cells showing variable degree of anaplasia and pleomorphism. Eosinophilic globules were PAS-positive and immunohistochemically negative for alpha-fetoprotein. Extramedullary hematopoiesis was present and normal-appearing bile ducts and hepatic cell cords were noted.

Experimental & Molecular Medicine 2017;49(1):e282-
Non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients frequently fail to respond to treatment and experience disease progression because of their clinical and biological diversity. In this study, we identify a prognostic molecular signature for predicting the heterogeneity of NMIBC by using an integrative analysis of copy number and gene expression data. We analyzed the copy number and gene expression profiles of 404 patients with bladder cancer obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) consortium. Of the 14 molecules with significant copy number alterations that were previously reported, 13 were significantly correlated with copy number and expression changes. Prognostic gene sets based on the 13 genes were developed, and their prognostic values were verified in three independent patient cohorts (n=501). Among them, a signature of CCNE1 and its coexpressed genes was significantly associated with disease progression and validated in the independent cohorts. The CCNE1 signature was an independent risk factor based on the result of a multivariate analysis (hazard ratio=6.849, 95% confidence interval=1.613–29.092, P=0.009). Finally, gene network and upstream regulator analyses revealed that NMIBC progression is potentially mediated by CCND1-CCNE1-SP1 pathways. The prognostic molecular signature defined by copy number and expression changes of CCNE1 suggests a novel diagnostic tool for predicting the likelihood of NMIBC progression.

Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education 2015;21(2):155-167
PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to develop course outcomes for nursing students by applying Hauenstein's theory. METHODS: The research was conducted in three steps as follows: identifying exit outcomes related to the Adult Nursing course, developing Adult Nursing course outcomes based on the theory of Hauenstein, and finalizing Adult Nursing course outcomes. RESULTS: Exit outcomes achievable in Adult Nursing were generated after a needs analysis survey among students, nurses and professors was conducted and subsequently reviewed by professors specializing in the subject. For theoretical courses, the level of the course outcomes was derived from the cognitive domain, whereas, for practical courses, it was derived, in stages, from the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Next, using taxonomical terms that can properly address the level of each domain, course outcomes for theoretical and practical courses were determined. After expert opinion was sought, the final course outcome for the Adult Nursing course was produced. CONCLUSION: The results are meaningful in that valid course outcomes were developed through the process described above and are expected to greatly contribute to reaching exit outcomes and strengthen the professional capacity of nursing students.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1994;37(7):999-1005
Pulmonary blastoma is a rare type of malignant lung tumor comprised of epithelial and mesenchymal elements reminiscent of fetal lung. Mesenchymal element may show various patterns of differentiation toward mature tissue, such as cartilage, smooth muscle, and bone. Rhabdomyoblastic differentiation in pulmonary blastoma is quite rare. Our case of pulmonary blastoma with rhabdomyoblastic differentiation documented by electron microscopy and immunohistochemistry. Usually it has been treated with surgery, but both chemotherapy and radiotherapy have been used against the metastatic disease, and as the adjuvant setting. A 28/12-year-old girl is described who was presented with pulmonary blastoma. She underwent surgical excision of the tumor, followed by the T2protocol, a 8 cycles of combination chemotherapy consisting of actinomycin-D, adriamycin, vincristine and cyclophosphamide with the radiation therapy to the left chest cage(180cGyx11 times). The patient has been off therapy without any evidence of relapse for 24 months. We report a case of pulmonary blastoma with brief review of related literatures.

Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamental Nursing 2015;22(4):424-432
PURPOSE: In this study the time point of effects that repeat exposure to simulation-based nursing training has on stress, interest in learning, and problem-solving abilities were identified. METHODS: Participants for this study were 75 nursing college students in Seoul. In a preliminary survey data were collected and measured for the general characteristics, stress, interest in learning, and problem-solving abilities of the students. Then, stress was assessed before performance of each of four-rounds of simulation training scenarios. After each simulation round, interest in learning and problem-solving abilities were assessed. RESULTS: With respect to stress, no significant differences were found when comparing the results of the preliminary survey to those of each of the simulation-based training exercises. For the sub-items of interest in learning, interest in nursing knowledge and interest in clinical training significantly increased between the preliminary survey and the 4th survey. Interest in lab training increased significantly at the 1st survey. Problem solving abilities showed a significant increase from the preliminary at each of the survey points. CONCLUSION: Increasing the exposure of nursing students to simulation-based training enhances their interest in learning and problem-solving abilities. Therefore it is necessary to have education strategies that includes various simulation experiences for students.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1981;10(1):401-406
Choriocarcinoma is originally described by Sanger in 1989 and it may be changed from hydatadiforme mole, abortion and rarely normal pregnancy. The incidence of spinal metastasis is unknown. We have reported a case of a 17 year-old female who admitted to Korea University Hospital on September 10, 1980, with complaints of severe pain and motor weakness of the legs. She had episode of laparatomy for removal of tumor mass of Rt. Ovary 4 months prior to admission. She has received operation for the removal of the spinal metastatic tumor on the 5th admission day and the mass was proved as metastatic choriocarcinoma pathologically.
