BACKGROUND: This study aimed to empirically investigate the determinants on oxygen free radical degree which causes biological damage focusing on smoking habit and health behaviors in daily life. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, the subjects were adult males who submitted free radical tests among the examinees of the comprehensive medical testings at an university hospital in Suwon from 2008 to 2010. Total 497 samples were used in analyses for clarifying the relations of free radical degree to age, smoking, obesity, and other health behaviors. RESULTS: First, the degree of oxygen free radical increases by 0.164 as the age group increases (P<0.05). Second, the degree of oxygen free radical increases by 0.547 as the smoking habit increases (P<0.001). Third, the degree of oxygen free radical increases by 0.087 as the exposure to hazardous factors in workplace increases (P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The findings of the study imply that the smoking habit has more great influence on the increase of oxygen free radical in body than any other health behaviors. The causality of free radical to smoking and health behavior was not identified due to the limit of the cross-sectional study so it needs to be studied prospectively in the future.

3.A study of bracket position in Korean.
Korean Journal of Orthodontics 1986;16(2):107-114
This study was undertaken to determine the adequate bracket positron m Korean. The subjects were consisted of casts and photographs of 30 males & 30 females. They had acceptable profile, normal occlusion, no loss of teeth and no experience of dental treatment. The following conclusions were obtained. 1. In case of no necessity of the posterior teeth movement, bracket angulation was made automatically by paralleling the bracket slot with occlusal plane. 2. Axial inclination of all teeth were measured, and those of canine & premolar were much variable. 3. Adequate bracket position of Korean occlusion were obtained.

4.A Study of Umbilical venous Blood of pH, pCO2, Bicarvonate and Base Excess in Normal Term Infat and High Risk Infant.
Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1980;23(5):366-375
The levels of pH,pCO,bicarbonate, and base excess in umbillical venous blood were measured at birth of life in 30 normal term infant and 27 high risk infants. The study group was divided into two categories by clinical evaluation: first group of normal term infant without high risk indication and second group of high risk infants. Following results were obiained. 1) The average level of umbilical venous blood pH in normal group was 7.3260.001 and high risk group was 7.3180.002(7.326 versus 7.318,respecitvely,p>0.05) 2) The average Apgar Score in normal group was 9.30.95 and more acidotic high risk group was 7.42.54 3) The average level of pCO in normal group was 43.361.36mmHg and high risk group was 43.952.36mmHg(43.36 respecitively, p>0.05) 4) The average level of pCo in normal group was 21.550.85mmEq/L and high risk group was 20.030.78mEq/L(21.55 versus 20.03mEq/L respectively,p>0.05) 5) The average level of base excess in normal group was -2.610.76mEq/L and high risk group was -3.060.91mEq/L(-2.61 versus -3.06mEq/L respecitively,p?0.05) 6) Relationship between hP and Apgar Score in normal group was False normal (6.7%),False abnormal(10%) and high risk group was False normal (14.8%) False abonromal(7.4%).

Korean Journal of Women Health Nursing 2002;8(3):325-334
To identify strategies to prevent sexual problems in teenage girls, respondents in this study answered two open-ended questions: "What are strategies for teenage school girls to prevent unwanted coitus?" and "What are strategies for teenage girls to prevent pregnancy?" The respondents were 12,733 girls from an accessible population of 19,000, a multi-stage cluster sample from a population of 1,988,902 girls attending 4,684 schools in the seven largest cities and nine provinces in Korea. Data were collected by mail between October 2 and October 28, 2000. The response rate was 68.9%. The total number of responses for the first question was 10,345, and for the second, 9,624. Data were analyzed by content analysis. The results of this study are: 1. According to priority, frequent strategies to prevent unwanted coitus were, self assertiveness (35.7%), heterosexual interaction training (24.6%), sex education (21.2%), and innovations in the system of social culture (4.7%). The order of priority was the same whether the respondents had experienced coitus or not. 2. According to priority, frequent strategies to prevent pregnancy were, heterosexual interaction training (27.4%), sex education (26.2%), contraceptive use and induced abortion (21.4%), and innovations in the system of social culture (3.2%). The first priority for the respondents who had not experienced coitus was heterosexual interaction training (27.7%) but contraceptive use (35.5%) was the first priority for the group who had experienced coitus. In sex education, a focus on contraceptive use for teenage girls who have experienced coitus and on heterosexual interaction training for those who have not, would strengthen preventive strategies for these two sexual problems. Assertiveness training as part of sex education would further strengthen prevention strategies.

7.A comparison of the fidelity between various cores fabricated with CAD/CAM systems.
The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2008;46(3):269-279
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Recently, various all-ceramic crowns fabricated with CAD/CAM systems have come into wide use in dental clinic. However, there are only few domestic studies on CAD/CAM restorations. PURPOSE: Purpose of this study was to compare the fidelity (absolute marginal discrepancy and internal gap) between various cores fabricated with different CAD/CAM systems (Procera system, Lava system, Cerec inLab system) and conventional metal cast core. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 10 cores per each system were fabricated. The absolute marginal discrepancies were measured using measuring microscope and digital counter. The internal gaps were calculated using a silicone paste. The results were statistically analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test and Tukey's HSD test. RESULTS: Within the limits of this study the results were as follows. 1. The absolute marginal discrepancies were 32.5+/-3.7 micrometer for metal cast core, 72.2+/-7.0 micrometer for Procera core, 40.8+/-5.4 micrometer for Lava core, and 55.3+/-8.7 micrometer for Cerec inLab core. The internal gaps were 38.4+/-5.7 micrometer for metal cast core, 71.4+/-5.3 micrometer for Procera core, 45.9+/-7.3 micrometer for Lava core, and 51.8+/-6.2 micrometer for Cerec inLab core. 2. The fidelity of metal cast core showed the smallest gaps, followed by Lava core, Cerec inLab core, and Procera core. CONCLUSION: The fidelities of 4 core groups were all within the clinically acceptable range (120 micrometer).

Korean Journal of Urology 1981;22(5):419-423
A clinical observation was made on 39 patients of cryptorchism who had been admitted to the Department of Urology, Seoul Red Cross Hospital during the 7 yeas period from January 1973 to December 1979. 1) During the period, 827 patients hospitalized, there were 39 cases of cryptorchism, giving a rate of 4.6%. 2) The age group, most frequently seen, was between 6 to 10 years. 3) The bilateral cryptorchisms were observed in 10 cases (26%). 4) The position of cryptorchism is most popular in the inguinal type 37 testes (75%) and intraabdominal type is 8 testes (16%).

Annals of Dermatology 1992;4(2):99-102
We report a case of squamous cell carcinoma arising in porokeratosis of Mibelli in a 32-year-old male who presented with a large, slowly extending, erythematous patch with central ulceration on the left lateral side of the neck. Histopathologic examination of the periphery of the patch and central tumor showed porokeratosis and squamous cell carcinoma, respectively.
