Objective To explore the new methods to fill local temporal depression or augment superciliary with autotissue graft.Methods Applying upper eyebrow perdicled dermis -fat petal to fill the local temporal depression or augment superciliary, accompanied with eyebrow lifting.Results Augmentation superciliary arch plasty with upper eyebrow perdicled dermis-fat petal was performed in 5 patients. All 5 patients' superciliary arch showed good shape and accompanied with no complications. Filling of local depression of temporal with derma-fat flap was performed in 6 patients, with dermis-fat flap and prosthesis was performed in 8 patients. 2 cases had hematoma. Conclusion Upper eyebrow perdicled dermis-fat petal as a material being ultilized to augment superciliary or to fill local temporal depression has advantages of better localization and more natural shape.[

Not only calmodulin (CAM) with Ca2+ regulates the activity of many enzymes and proteins, but also free-CaM (no Ca2+bound) and Ca2+-independent CaM-binding proteins play roles in plant and animal cells. There is no in vivo method to identify the interaction between free-CaM and Ca2+-independent CaM-binding protein (CaMBP). Using site-directed mutagenesis by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), 5 mutant Arabidopsis calmodulin isoform 2 (AtCaM2) genes, mCaM21, mCoM212,mCaM2123, mCaM2124 and mCaM21234 were obtained. The mutant mCaM2 encoded glutamine in place of glutamate (E32Q; E68Q; E105Q; E141Q) in one or more EF-hand Ca2+-binding motifs of AtCaM2. The recombinant mCaM2 proteins were produced in Escherichia coli, and subsequently separated on SDS-PAGE in the presence of Ca2+ or EGTA, their electrophoresis mobilities were related with that of mutant EF-hand motifs. 45Ca2+ overlay analysis indicated that the more glutamate replaced by glutamine, the lower affinity with Ca2+ in the mCaM2 proteins. The mCaM21234 mutant protein (E32Q; E68Q; E105Q;E141Q) was unable to bind Ca2+. Using yeast two-hybrid technique with mCaM21234 as bait, it was possible to see interaction in Arabidopsis of AtCaM2 with IQD26, a calcium-independent CaM-binding protein. Site-directed mutation of AtCaM2 will aid the research of Ca2+, CaM and Ca2+-independent CaMBPs in plant biological processes.

Objective To evaluate the surgical treatment of bladder cancer near ureteral orifice. Methods 42 cases of bladder cancer requiring ureteral reimplantation were divided into two groups at random:20 cases in group A:tongue-shaped incision of bladder wall around ureteral orifice was performed to modify Huctch-Ⅱ ureter implantation and 22 cases in group B:severing the ureter just outside the bladder,the ureter was then implanted into the bladder after partial cystectomy.Duration of the procedure,blood loss,amount of post-operation drainage,early complication,bladder ureter reflux,ureter obstruction,and cancer recurrence rate were studied and compared. Results In group A,the surgery took 60.5?18.5 min,blood loss amounted to 50.6?12.8 ml and the post-operative drainage 50.6?17.8 ml.In group B,the operation needed 150.9?22.4 min,the blood loss amounted to 220.5?28.2ml and post-operative drainage 280.6?58.9 ml.All the above three indexes showed siginificant difference between the 2 groups (P0.05). Conclusions Tongue-shaped incision of bladder wall around the ureteral orifice better with less complication,technically easier and worth recommendation.

Objective To devise an improved double J tube for ureteral stenting so as to simplify its postoperative removal. Methods One end of the double J tube was made blind and got through the urinary tract via the ureteral wall or via a weak point of the renal cortex.The blind end was then embeded in the subcutaneous tissue and the ureteral stent was left behind for 4～12 weeks.A small incision (0.5 cm) was made in order to withdraw the stent and cystoscopy could be avoided.The self devised tube has been clinically employed for 60 cases. Results The stent has been satisfactory in all the 60 cases and its postoperative removal has been easy with no need of cystoscopy. Conclusions The subcutaneous embedding of a blind end of double J tube is simple and effective and its postoperative withdrawal is easy with no need of cystoscopy.

This study aims to establish a method to determine the serum acetaminophen concentration based on diazo reaction, and apply it in the gastric emptying evaluation. Theoretically, acetaminophen could take hydrolysis reaction in hydrochloric acid solution to produce p-aminophenol, which could then take diazo reaction resulting in a product with special absorption peak at 312 nm. Then the serum acetaminophen concentration and recovery rate were calculated according to the standard curve drawn with absorbance at 312 nm. ICR mice were given a dose of acetaminophen (500 mg x kg(-1)) by gavage and the serum acetaminophen was dynamically measured through the diazo reaction. Besides, ICR mice were subcutaneously injected with the long-acting GLP-1 analog GW002 before the gavage of acetaminophen, and serum acetaminophen concentration was measured as above to study how GW002 could influence the gastric emptying. The data showed acetaminophen ranging from 0 to 160 μg x mL(-1) could take diazo reaction with excellent linear relationship, and the regression equation was y = 0.0181 x +0.0104, R2 = 0.9997. The serum acetaminophen was also measured with good linear relationship (y = 0.0045 x + 0.0462, R = 0.9982) and the recovery rate was 97.4%-116.7%. The serum concentration of acetaminophen reached peak at about 0.5 h after gavage, and then gradually decreased. GW002 could significantly lower the serum acetaminophen concentration and make the area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) decrease by 28.4%. In conclusion, a method for the determination of serum acetaminophen based on the diazo reaction was established with good accuracy and could be used in the evaluation of gastric emptying.

Levels of endothelin (ET), nitricoxide (NO), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were also measured. Objective To investigate the relationship between wheezing and serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3.Methods 130 children with lower respiratory tract infection were selected as the subjects, the children with wheezing in group A([Abstract] Objective To investigate the relationship between wheezing and serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3.Methods 130 children with lower respiratory tract infection were selected as the subjects, the children with wheezing in group A(n=70),normal pneumonia (no wheezing) were group B(n=60); The healthy children who were examined in the hospital at the same period were selected as the control group (n=60). The serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 were measured by ELISA in the control and hospitalized children. The pathogens and allergens of the two groups were also detected. Results The levels of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in group A and group B were (56.92±16.88) nmol/L, (70.68±21.96) nmol/L, respectively, which was significantly lower than that in control group (82.69±17.63) nmol/L, ( t=8.50, 3.30,P=0.00,0.00); compared with group A( t=3.85, P=0.00). The positive rate of group A was 65.71%, which was significantly higher than that of group B (35.00%, χ2=12.20,P=0.00). The positive rate of group A was 30.00% compared with the control group (35.00%, χ2=0.36,P=0.54). The serum level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 was 75.57% in group A, which was significantly higher than that in group B (60.00%,χ2=14.21, P=0.00). The positive rate of virus detection was 57.14% in 98 children with serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 level<75 nmol/L, which was significantly higher than that in serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 level≥75 nmol/L(18.75%, χ2=14.25, P=0.00). The positive rate of allergens in serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 level <75 nmol/L was 35.71%, which was significantly higher than that in serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 level≥75 nmol/L(21.88%, χ2=2.11, P=0.14). Conclusion The main risk factor for children with wheezing is viral infection, while the low level of serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 in children increases the risk of viral infection, resulting in increased risk of wheezing in patients,so the clinical can occur through the detection of serum 25- hydroxyvitamin D3 levels to predict and intervention for children with wheezing.

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of high resolution CT for temporal bone traumatic facial nerve paralysis and the guidance significance for surgery.Method:Twenty-nine patients of traumatic facial nerve paralysis were investigated.The predictive diagnosis was made according to the clinical data and the image features of HRCT,then a comparative analysis of the preoperative image features and the surgical findings were carried out.Result:The trend of temporal bone fracture displayed on the CT scan was basically consisted with the surgical findings.The direct CT signs of facial nerve injury include the bone fracture line went through the tube,bone tube rupture or continuity interruption,while the indirect CT signs include local incrassation of the facial nerve,lower bone density of the tube,geniculate fossa expansion,oppressed facial nerve,et al.The predictive diagnostic accordance rates of all the image features were above 90%as to the surgical findings.Conclusion:High resolution CT could localize the trend of temporal bone fracture,and is helpful to estimate the extent of facial nerve injury and other complications.High resolution CT could provide reliable basis for clinical diagnosis and trotment.

BACKGROUND: Fine motor function impairment is the most common complication in various eneephalopathy in children and is the key factor to hinder the normal development. Acupuncture injection brings not only the stimulation of needling but also the pharmaceutical action into play. In combination with occupational therapy,it improves probably the therapeutic effects.DESIGN: Retrospective analysis based on the patients.SETTING: Rehabilitation center of a university-affiliated hospital.OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effective method for the treatment of fine motor function impairment of children with encephalopathy.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 31 children with encephalopathy were admitted in clinic of the hospital from November 2001 to October 2002. Inclusion criteria: ① To conform to the diagnostic criteria on cerebral palsy and metal retardation. ② Age<5 years old. ③ Having be assessed with peabody developmental motor scale-fine motor(PDMS-FM) before and after treatment.Exclusion criteria: ① To be less than one session treatment. ② To suffer from progressive disorders and palsy caused by various encephalitis and encephalopathy. ③ Transient delayed motor development . Of those patients,19 cases were male,12 cases female,aged varied from 4 months to 5years. 94% of patients were younger than 3 years old. Twenty cases were in full-term delivery. Eleven cases were born prematurely.METHODS: Thirty-one patients were treated primarily with acupunc ture injection in combination with occupational therapy. Assessment was carried on with PDMS-FM.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Primary results: To observe the motor improvement in children with encephalopathy. Secondary results: To observe the changes in fine motor quotient (FMQ) before and after treatment.RESULTS: FMQ was increased in 21 cases(68%),grasp capacity index was elevated in 27 cases(87%) and capacity index of visual perception was improved in 31 cases.CONCLUSION: Acupuncture has firmly achieved remarkable therapeutic effects on fine motor function impairment in children with encephalopatby in combination with occupational therapy.
