OBJECTIVETo study the effect of blood activating water relieving method (BAWRM) on heart functions and serum levels of NT-proBNP in patients with heart failure with normal ejection fraction (HFNEF).
METHODSSixty-four HFNEF patients were admitted to our hospital during January 2011 to June 2012. They were randomly assigned to the treatment group (32 cases) and the control group (32 cases). Patients in the control group received routine Western medical treatment, while those in the treatment group additionally took Chinese medical recipes for activating blood circulation and relieving water retention. Changes of Chinese medical syndromes, E/E', serum NT-proBNP contents were observed between the two groups.
RESULTSCompared with before treatment, their Chinese medical syndromes and E/E' were significantly improved, and serum NT-proBNP contents decreased in the two groups (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, Chinese medical syndromes, E/E', serum NT-proBNP contents obviously decreased in the treatment group, showing statistical difference (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONBAWRM was an effective way to improve the diastolic function of HFNEF patients and lower the serum level of NT-proBNP with confirmative efficacy.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(7):607-610
In September 2020, three pulmonary tuberculosis cases were identified during school physical examinations at a senior high school in a district (School B) of Hangzhou City. Immediate epidemiological surveys were performed by local district and Hangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and a pulmonary tuberculosis outbreak involving 9 cases in 6 schools were identified. All cases were once Grade 9 students in Class of 2019 at a junior high school (School A), and the source of infection might be a laboratory-confirmed cases (index case) in this class reported in April, 2019. Following exposure to index case, other cases developed disease onset or were screened after entering senior high schools. In November, 2020, tuberculin skin test and chest X-ray scan were performed to screen pulmonary tuberculosis among 43 students and teachers in a class of Grade 9 in Class of 2019 at School A, and 17 students strongly positive for tuberculin skin test were given prophylactic therapy. No pulmonary tuberculosis case were identified until June 2021. It is suggested that early epidemiological surveys facilitates the identification of the epidemiological correlation between cases. Active search for individuals with common exposure history and prophylactic therapy are required if a possible outbreak is found, which is helpful to avoid the spread of the outbreak.

Objective To explore the outcomes of the transplanted kidney as donor for clinical renal transplantation and summarize experience in combination with related literature.Method This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical documents of one case of uremia receiving renal allograft transplantation with the transplanted kidney as the donor in one case of renal transplantation after brain death in February,2015.The donor was a 31-year-old man who received renal transplantation for uremia in November,2014 and obtained normal renal function. Two months later, the patient was brain dead because of neurologic disorder and donated his transplanted kidney. The serum creatinine of the donor was 167 μmol/L,and the glomerular filtration rate was about 35 mL/min befor donation. The recipient was 27 years old who needed transplantation because of chronic renal function failure and uremia.Preoperation tests showed that PRA was negative, and serum creatinine was 1 353 μmol/L.After separating and dissecting the donor kidney carefully,we perfused and compensated the kidney by Lifeport Organ Perfusion and Preservation Conveyor. The warm ischemia time was about 15 min.The renal vein of the donor was anastomized with right external iliac vein of the receptor, artery with right external iliac artery, and ureter with right centrifugal ureter.Result The operating time was more than 3 h.Postoperatively, the recipient was given the immunosuppressive regimen as tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil and methylprednisolone to prevent rejection. At 1 st day postoperation, the 24-h urine volume of the receptor was 5 000 mL,serum creatinine was declined gradually to a minimum of 180μmol/L,and there was trace urine protein. The renal function of patient recovered well by now.Meanwhile, the patient was still under the follow-up.Conclusion It is practical that using transplanted kidney as donor kidney for re-transplantation.There were certain clinical significance for shortening the waiting time of renal transplantation in uremia patients and relieving the shortage of transplant kidney.
