Livin is a new and important member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein(IAPs)family.Livin is high expressed in most human tumor cells, involved in apoptosis inhibition and closely related with tumor development and progression.Studies found that through the down-regulation or inhibition of Livin expression and the induction specific antibodies of Livin could inhibi and kill tumor cells, which provided a new method for tumors'diagnosis, cell and gene targeted therapy.

The leucoanthocyantin reducase (LAR) gene, an important functional gene of catechins biosynthesis pathway, was cloned from Fagopyrum dibotrys (D.Don) Hara by degenerate PCR and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). The full-length cDNA of FdLAR is 1 581 bp (GenBank accession: JN793953), containing a 1 176 bp ORF encoding a 391 amino acids protein, and its 3'-untranslated region has an obvious polyadenylation signal. The recombinant plasmid containing FdLAR completed ORF was transformed into E. coli BL21 (DE3). The target fusion peptide with molecular weight of 66 kD was expressed under the condition of 16 degrees C and induced by IPTG at final concentration of 1.0 mmol x L(-1). Bioinformation analysis indicated that the amino acid sequence of FdLAR showed great homology to other LAR with the NADB-Rossmann conversed domain in the N-terminus. Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression levels of FdLAR gene during different development periods. The determination of flavonoids contents in appropriate rhizomes showed that the relationship between FdLAR gene expression and the accumulation of flavonoids displayed different trends during vegetative growth and reproductive growth stages, suggesting that the FdLAR gene may be involved in the pathway of flavonoid metabolisms in Fagopyrum dibotrys.

Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(11):836-838
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) regulate target genes expression in the post-transcriptional levels. There are many kinds of differential expressions of miRNA in head and neck cancer, and the miRNA participate in a series of important biological processes such as cell development, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and etc.miRNAs is expected to become an effective means for the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer.

Survivin gene is the strongest inhibitor of apoptosis so far.Recently,it was found that the promoter polymorphism of survivin gene is closely related to risk of cancer and genetic susceptibility. This finding might provide clues for further elucidation of the correlation of risk of cancer and genetic polymorphism, and for diagnosis, prevention and screening of cancer gene.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the dosage and consumption sum of opioid analgesic drug in Qingdao district. METH-ODS:The consumption data of drugs in 29 public hospitals at secondary or above level in Qingdao district were analyzed statistical-ly by ABC analytic methods and defined daily dose methods. RESULTS:In ABC analysis,5 kinds of class A drugs accounted for 20% of the total number of species, and the percentage of consumption sum was 77.38%;4 kinds of class B drugs accounted for 16.00% of all species numbers, and the percentage of consumption sum was 11.98%;other 16 kinds of drugs accounted for 64.00% of the total number of species, and the percentage of consumption sum was 10.64%. Oxycodone sustained-release tablets and Morphine sustained-release tablets with the highest DDDs consumed more health care costs, serial number ratio was 1.00,syn-chronization was good and conform to the actual needs of clinical work. CONCLUSIONS:The composition ratio of opioid analge-sic drug costs is consistent with the theoretical value, significant discrepancy between cost and DDDs does not appear.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the curative effects of surgery combined with early radiotherapy and local injection of hormonal anti-scarring drugs in the treatment of keloid in head and neck region. METHODS 35 patients with keloid were treated with surgery(completely excised and sutured directly or treated with local skin flap).Radiotherapy was applied within 24 hours after operation.A total dose of 20 Gy was administered in ten fractions of 2 Gy every day. Patients who had recurrences were treated with local injection of hormonal anti-scarring drugs.RESULTS After operation, all the wounds were healed by first intention. After 1-4 year follow-up,25 cases(71.43%) were cured without relapse;10 cases(28.57%) showed partial remission. The rate of therapeutic effect was 100%.CONCLUSION Surgical removal combined with local radiation and local injection of hormonal anti-scarring drugs are one of the effective methods in treatment with keloid in head and neck region.

Objective To observe the effects of 860 MHz microwave radiation on an established dual task model of trace and delay eyeblink conditioning in guinea pigs. Methods Twenty-four guinea pigs with an established dual task model of trace and delay eyeblink conditioning were assigned randomly into four groups : a microwave-exposed 1 h group, a microwave-exposed 20 min group, a sham-exposed group and a normal control group. The guinea pigs in the 1 h and 20 min groups were irradiated on the head daily for 3 days using 860 MHz electromagnetic radiation at a power density of 1 mW/cm2 for 1 h and for 20 min, respectively. After radiation the guinea pigs were trained with classical dual task eyeblink conditioning. Results Compared with the normal control group, the behavioral parameters (acquisition rate and peak amplitude of trace and delay eyeblink) of guinea pigs in the microwave-exposed 1 h group had decreased significantly with no obvious change in latency. The behavioral parameters of guinea pigs in the microwave-exposed 20 min group, the sham-exposed group and the normal control group showed no obvious change. Conclusions Microwave radiation at 860 MHz and 1.0 mW/cm2 for 1 h can cause changes in dual trace and delay eyeblink conditioning in guinea pigs and decrease learning and memory capacity.
